Grevill House offers up to 50 residents compassionate, individualised residential, nursing and respite care. This warm and friendly home is located on the eastern edge of Cheltenham in the delightful village of Charlton Kings.

On-site is The Ashley Intermediate Care Centre which provides rehabilitation and enablement for up to 15 people that are discharged from hospital but who are not quite ready to return home. They are supported by a multidisciplinary team from the local NHS Trust.

Cosy lounges, a bright dining room and spacious gardens are the perfect places to relax or socialise with family and friends. Residents are safe in the knowledge that their dedicated, professionally trained team are on hand around-the-clock to give high-quality care and support required enabling residents to continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

Dedicated activities coordinators organise a varied programme of events around each individual's requests, hobbies and interests. The team will be delighted to assist residents to continue with existing pastimes, as well as give an opportunity to try something new. They make sure everyone is able to enjoy themselves to the fullest from large-scale group activities and events, like the summer fun day, to arts and crafts, doing a jigsaw, gardening or simply reading a book. Visits from outside entertainers happen regularly. The home has access to a minibus for trips out.

A talented cook and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals. The freshly prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and take into account individual dietary requirements and preferences. Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join.

They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should

Grevill House is a very nice friendly care home and I have always felt very welcome when I visit. The staff are all excellent. My husband was admitted into Grevill in January 2020 after a very stressful two and a half months in hospital and has many communication and mobility issues after a stroke,
but the staff are very patient with him. The last two years with Covid lockdowns have been very difficult for everyone but it is good to see the residents now able to enjoy the many activities organised for them again.

This review relates to Ashely Intermediate Care Centre. My husband was transferred from the hospital to Ashley for assessment. Because of our postcode and our medical centre, he was kept at Ashley for eighteen weeks, mainly because his allocated social workers were very very slow, particularly financially.
The staff cared for him outstandingly, medically and mentally. The stoma bag and bladder problems were dealt with efficiently and quickly. The staff became his friends. He also suffers from Lewy body disease.

Mum has been a resident at Grevill House for seven months now. She is happy, content and safe there. The staff are friendly, professional, supportive, kind and welcoming at all times. Mum's room is clean, tidy and well-kept. The meals are nutritional and what she likes. Mum has very much enjoyed the
choir and hymns. She enjoys having conversations with the staff and listening to their stories. My family and I are very happy with the service. Thank you!

There is a lovely atmosphere in Grevill House and Ashley Intermediate Care Centre. All the staff are very friendly and make you feel part of 'the family'. My father seems happy there and always says he is well looked after. Staff know my father by name and will pop their heads around his door for
a chat when passing which is lovely. When my father first arrived at Grevill House the staff went out of their way to make him feel welcome and to help him settle in. My only grumble is that, on a couple of occasions, I feel Grevill House should have let me know earlier about minor problems surrounding my father's care which were easily fixed once I knew what the issues were.

I would like to thank every single person for the care provided to my father, who passed in their care. The treatment was done with the utmost care and attention allowing us both to be present for a peaceful passing. Also, the support provided to my mum (who is also a resident) and myself was done with

I was a resident in Grevill House for two weeks as a respite resident, following an accident abroad that resulted in a broken leg and a broken wrist. The manager was very helpful and proactive in arranging assessment and acceptance whilst I was still in German and showed much flexibility over dates
for my stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I received good care. The accommodation was due to be refurbished but this had been delayed due to Covid, refurbishment of rooms would be desirable. The food was good but sometimes not very hot.

My dear mum has been at Ashley Intermediate Care Centre since 11th April 2021 and during that time she has received exemplary care. Mum has been cared for in a very caring and compassionate way and everything has been done to make my mum's stay as comfortable as possible. All the staff have always accommodated

My father was sent to Grevill by the hospital during the Covid period on discharge from hospital after a fall and I had no say in it at all. However, Grevill is quite close to us for convenience. Due to the Covid restrictions, we were not allowed to visit him which caused him to be quite confused and
stressed. The staff were absolutely brilliant with him and arranged Video and phone calls for me to speak and see him, which due to his condition was a great help. He was happy there and they made a real fuss of him. He had Dementia and was 97 years old. He was an electrical engineer during his working life. In late March this year, he suddenly deteriorated culminating in his death on 31 March 2021. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention given to him throughout his stay, especially so in his final days.

My husband came to Grevill House very anxious. He had not been eating or caring for himself at all. Since being at Grevill House, he is a new man. All the staff is amazing with him. nothing is too much trouble. He has put on weight due to all the lovely food. he is so relaxed. I have not seen him so

My mother, age 98, spent several weeks in Grevill House recovering from a broken right arm. She needed 24/7 nursing care; the care she received in Grevill House exceeded our expectations. All the staff we met were kind, caring and professional. Mum was very well looked after and happy. Residents are
treated as individuals, and their needs and feelings are catered for and respected. We, as a family, can only speak in the highest terms of the care Mum received, and very grateful to all the staff at Grevill House, thank you.

Grevill House has a friendly and supportive culture. Mum, at 98 and usually very independent was made to feel at ease. The staff are superb, very friendly and can't do enough. She also enjoyed making friends in the lounge area every day and joining in the activities.

My mother moved to Grevill House at the end of September 2019, at the age of 85. She was treated with great care, compassion and quickly began to enjoy her time there.
Following a stroke, she received excellent nursing care and was treated with great dignity until her death.
The members of her family
were given great support and were made welcome at any time of day or night. Management was especially good, and the manager always had time for us.

I have received the most excellent care here at Grevill House for several weeks. It has a lovely warm atmosphere and all the staff are very caring and friendly. We have many laughs.
The residents too are friendly and happy and have great fun with the entertainers, which come daily.

We would like to thank all the staff at Grevill House for going above and beyond their role of housekeeper, maintenance, carer, nurse and entertainment.
Our mum was terminally ill with MND which made her bedridden and totally reliant on the staff. We would often find staff sitting by our mother's bedside
making her laugh or entertaining her. In some cases, staff that had left the establishment or were on their days off would come and sit with Mum. In particular, the lady who would bring her puppy in to see Mum on a regular basis.
Any small issue we had was dealt with swiftly by the manager, no issue was ever too small!
Mum made many friends of the staff during her six month stay and a testament to that is the number that will be attending her funeral next week.
Thank you to all the staff that cared for our mum and us during a very stressful time. On the morning that mum passed the nurse in charge was amazing, thank you!

Suzi Meler

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2011

Suzi has worked for OSJCT since 2011, she has a wealth of experience including leading the Monkscroft team to achieve CQC Outstanding. In her previous role as Clinical Lead for the Gloucestershire region, she was instrumental in securing setting up and leading 5 Assessment Units across the region.


As the Home Manager, Suzi is committed to maintaining the highest standards of care, ensuring that each resident feels valued, safe, and comfortable within our community.


With a focus on continuous improvement, Suzi actively encourages open communication, actively listening to the concerns and suggestions of residents, families, and staff to enhance our care services further.

Katarzyna

Katarzyna Glowacka

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2015

Katarzyna Glowacka (Kasia) is a dedicated and experienced nurse with a remarkable journey in the healthcare field. Kasia's nursing career began in 1995. In 2015 she began her career with the Orders of St John Care Trust, starting as a nurse at Bohanam House.


In 2020, Kasia's passion for nursing led her to Chestnut Court, where she took on the role of Senior Nurse in the Assessment Unit. In April 2023, she became an invaluable member of the Grevill House team where on September 18, Kasia was appointed as Deputy Manager.


As Deputy Manager, Kasia plays a pivotal role in the management of Grevill House, working closely with the Home Manager to ensure that the home operates in accordance with the policies and guidelines laid down by OSJCT. Additionally, she is the Lead Person for Infection Control at Grevill.


Outside of her rewarding career, Kasia is a loving mum of two sons and enjoys various hobbies, including travelling, sailing, capturing the beauty of nature through photography, attending live music concerts, and cherishing quality time with her family.

Chrissie

Chrissie Silcock

Job Title: Activity Coordinator Joined: 2025

Chrissie joined the Trust in 2025 as an Activity Coordinator, having previously worked at Grevill/Ashley in 2020 following the passing of her husband. She was drawn to the activities role because of her passion for bringing people together and creating enjoyable, inclusive experiences that support wellbeing through social interaction.


She finds great personal satisfaction in seeing residents benefit from fun and meaningful activities, and is particularly interested in building stronger community connections and encouraging teamwork. Chrissie is excited to bring her energy, enthusiasm, and fresh ideas to the role, while developing her leadership, communication, and event-planning skills.
