Overall Experience

My mother, age 98, spent several weeks in Grevill House recovering from a broken right arm. She needed 24/7 nursing care; the care she received in Grevill House exceeded our expectations. All the staff we met were kind, caring and professional. Mum was very well looked after and happy. Residents are treated as individuals, and their needs and feelings are catered for and respected. We, as a family, can only speak in the highest terms of the care Mum received, and very grateful to all the staff at Grevill House, thank you.

Grevill House has a friendly and supportive culture. Mum, at 98 and usually very independent was made to feel at ease. The staff are superb, very friendly and can't do enough. She also enjoyed making friends in the lounge area every day and joining in the activities.

The food was excellent, and it is nice that the residents get to choose an option. The facilities are very clean and safe.

My mother moved to Grevill House at the end of September 2019, at the age of 85. She was treated with great care, compassion and quickly began to enjoy her time there.
Following a stroke, she received excellent nursing care and was treated with great dignity until her death.

The members of her family were given great support and were made welcome at any time of day or night. Management was especially good, and the manager always had time for us.

I have received the most excellent care here at Grevill House for several weeks. It has a lovely warm atmosphere and all the staff are very caring and friendly. We have many laughs.
The residents too are friendly and happy and have great fun with the entertainers, which come daily.
I must thank everyone here for looking after me so well, and I am really sad to leave.

Thank you all!

Overall Experience
We would like to thank all the staff at Grevill House for going above and beyond their role of housekeeper, maintenance, carer, nurse and entertainment.
Our mum was terminally ill with MND which made her bedridden and totally reliant on the staff. We would often find staff sitting by our mother's bedside making her laugh or entertaining her. In some cases, staff that had left the establishment or were on their days off would come and sit with Mum. In particular, the lady who would bring her puppy in to see Mum on a regular basis.
Any small issue we had was dealt with swiftly by the manager, no issue was ever too small!
Mum made many friends of the staff during her six month stay and a testament to that is the number that will be attending her funeral next week.

Thank you to all the staff that cared for our mum and us during a very stressful time. On the morning that mum passed the nurse in charge was amazing, thank you!

Most people only write a review once their relative has left the home but my mum has been resident since October 2017 and I hope she will be here for many more years. Her care in this home has been exceptional. All the residents in this home are known by their first name, their every need is catered for, and the staff make the residents stay very personal as if they are inviting them into their home. The home is very clean and pleasant to visit. The residents are entertained and encouraged to join in the daily activities. There are also trips which help to trigger memories that the staff can share with the residents. The staff know all the resident's likes/dislikes, hobbies, talents, previous history and they encourage the residents to share and remember these. i.e. my Mum loved gardening and during the summer they encourage her to get out in the garden and help tend the flower beds (even though she can only hold the trowel). This is an exceptional caring home.

Warmly welcomed. Staff caring and professional. Food is excellent but the choice appears limited. Received much needed support and care. Arrived in a wheelchair, now able to walk the corridor.

Restored my confidence after such a traumatic experience.

A very welcoming facility with very comfortable individual rooms. The level of staff care provided by the trust is very high. The aim of the centre was to ensure that I could go home fully independent and both the therapy staff and care staff made this possible and encouraged me throughout to take a full part in this process.

I am happy to recommend Ashley Intermediate Care Centre.

Our opinion of Grevill house has not changed since our mother became a resident two and a half years ago. In fact, if we could give a higher rating - we would. The care she receives goes so far above and beyond what might be expected

I have received excellent care from staff who were always patient and kind. The food was consistently good and plentiful. The bedroom was comfortable, as was the bed and there was plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. Provision of a TV/radio was really valuable.

I have enjoyed my stay at Ashley Intermediate Care Centre and really have mixed feelings about leaving.

Review from J L (Wife of Resident) published on 26 March 2019 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My husband lived here for his last 14 months. The building is not new and is quite compact. We liked this as it made it feel like a home from home, not an institution. The staff treated him with respect, kindness and good humour. They kept him looking like 'himself' - a daily shave and fresh, clean clothes. They offered him appetising meals. They kept him safe by gradually altering the level of care he required. They made his friends and family feel welcome and comfortable - and in those last few days, took extra care of him and all the family. We could not have asked for a more caring environment at a very distressing time.
