Our mum has been in Ladymead for 6 years in December. She has had the most amazing care we could have asked for. She was always treated with dignity, love and diligence. She always felt safe and valued. She left hospital 6 years ago very vulnerable and extremely poorly but during the time she lived
there, she has thrived, gained weight due to nutritous meals, stimulated mentally with activities and was always comfortable and cared for with love.

To all at Ladymead Care Home.
I have dated this review for August but it is an overall review to say thank you so much for everything that you did for my dad over the past 3 years. You not only looked after and cared for him but you also became his friend who kept him company and made him laugh. We
cannot express what it has meant to us to know that he was surrounded by such lovely people during both the good and the bad times.
We would also like to thank all of you for the support you gave us throughout the three years he lived at the home, especially in his final week. It was with your support that we were able to be there for him as a family.
The work that all of you do is not easy but please know we have always appreciated what you did for him, and us and what you will continue to do for other families.
We are forever grateful.
Reply from Kakkirikkan Chalil Byju Vasudevan, Home Manager at Ladymead Care HomeThanks for your lovely words and it has been an absolute pleasure having your dad at Ladymead. Kind regards Byju

I have always found the staff very helpful and caring. They try very hard to give the residents activities to get them out of their rooms. The food is appreciated by the residents.
The staff are happy and cheerful and this is reflected by the staff retention. The home does not use agency staff.
The
overall air of the home is happy and cheerful.

All the staff were kind, friendly and very helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble. I was kept informed about my sister's health, every month they rang to see if I had any concerns about her and was told immediately if she needed to see a nurse or doctor ow was prescribed medication.

Mum moved into Ladymead 6 months ago and was made welcome from the moment she arrived. She loved the activities, especially the crafting which brought her great joy, from knit and natter to making decorations for the seasonal highlights - Christmas, Easter, St Patrick's and Comic Relief days. Every
time we visited all the staff greeted us with a lovely warm smile and offered refreshments. The chef and her staff went out of their way to offer Mum tempting, tasty meals when her appetite became jaded. The manager was always available and a comforting influence whenever I had moments of stress. The whole experience of Ladymead was immensely pleasurable, both for Mum and her family visiting. Wonderful to the end.

My sister has been at Ladymead for only a few months. She was reluctant to move from her home of 40 years, but the staff was warm and welcoming from the beginning. They are, without exception, professional, respectful, and kind, and they take the extra time to see to every need. It is very important
for me to know my sister is safe and well cared for because I live in a different country and can only visit a couple of times a year. After spending a week there, I have been reassured and can highly recommend Ladymead.

Mum had stayed at Ladymead in December 23 after a fall. Following a spell in hospital, she requested a return to Ladymead as she had felt so safe and comfortable there. So in January, she returned and even had the same room offered to her. All the staff were very kind and attentive and she was welcomed
back into the Ladymead family. Any food requests were met and her laundry was done regularly and efficiently. Everyone in the home was cheerful and competent, and nothing was too much trouble. I am really happy to have chosen a home so suited to my mum's needs.

My mother and father spent their final months at Ladymead. From the start I was very impressed with the care home. The manager and all his staff are caring, professional, respectful, friendly and welcoming. Everyone goes above and beyond to make the residents' lives enjoyable and comfortable. My parents
celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary a couple of months ago and the staff decorated the conservatory for them and made them a special tea. Thank you for everything that you all did while my parents were with you and for your kindness, friendliness and compassion.

I had heard how nice the Ladymead Care Home was from other people and I had entertained here previously, so I knew this was the place I wanted my mum to be. But the care home has way exceeded my expectations. The carers here do their absolute best to ensure the comfort of their residents and also take
good care of their visitors. Every aspect of the resident's needs are met. I'm so happy that my mum is here.

My overall experience of Ladymead is very good. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, and I am confident that Mum is known by every member of the team on a personal level. My mum has been a resident for just over a year, and both she and I have and expect very high standards, and we have
had no reason to challenge this over the period. My mum has made new friends and feels safe, happy and well cared for, which is the most important thing for me.

Mum went to live at Ladymead in November 22, initially just for a short period. Because of family circumstances, we had to find Mum somewhere to go with no notice at all. I first spoke to a member of staff at around 11 am, Mum was visited by the deputy manager at 3 pm and in their care by 5 pm.
Throughout
Mum's stay there everyone was so kind, caring and helpful to her. They looked after her every need with kindness and compassion
As time went on it became apparent that Mum would have to enter end-of-life care, and everyone there was marvellous. Not just to Mum but to family too and nothing was any trouble. They we so kind and caring to us all throughout a difficult time
I would recommend Ladymead to anyone who needs similar care. A lovely group of caring staff who had Mum's best interest at heart every day.
Thank you for all you did for us.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.755)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.755) out of 10 for Ladymead Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.755 for Ladymead Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (279 Excellents x 5) + (79 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.755
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ladymead Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
