I always felt a warm and caring atmosphere whenever I visited Mum at Ladymead Care Home. Everyone worked as a team, looking after mum's physical needs and also her mental needs too, showing empathy, patience and time spent making her comfortable and feeding her at the end of her life.
She lived there
3+ years showing how well she was looked after. The entertainment was varied and interesting and her diet and likes were addressed too.
Reply from Andrea Saunders, Business Development Manager at Ladymead Care HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt comments. I know that the care team will be pleased to know that their efforts were appreciated and that they were able to provide the right support to you and your relative.

Both my parents have been in Ladymead care home, in total 6 1/2 years. The care has been exceptional. The carers are extremely patient; the food was all homemade and individual dietary requirements catered for. There are lots of activities organised for anyone wishing to take part. Sadly both parents
have passed away but I would not have wished them to be in another care home. This was the best choice.
Reply from Ronnie Cavanagh, Marketing at Ladymead Care HomeThank you Pauline for your kind comments about our Care team. We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback for Ladymead Care Home. We understand how upsetting it must have been, and are so pleased you felt that our team lived up to expectation and treated your parents with dignity and the compassion they deserved during their time at our home. We hope that their time at Ladymead did see some friendships flourish with both the Care team and residents. Thank you again Pauline, if there is anything more we can do please do not hesitate to reach out.

Ladymead cared for my mother as perfectly as can be for nearly three years. We researched more expensive homes in London but none of them offered the degree of care and love that Ladymead does. I could go into details but the boxes below should indicate. I might single out (and for an MBE) the occupational
therapist. But everyone else was wonderful too.

When a loved one has to go live in a care home, you fear the worst for them, but I have found it is a new chapter in their life.
Ladymead brings out the best in their abilities, encouraging them to be part of a family group. I cannot fault the staff there, they show true emotion towards each resident,
trying to make their lives as good as possible. Nowhere is ever going to be perfect but circumstances dictate that our loved ones need to reside in care homes and from what I have seen at Ladymead it is very good in providing a safe, happy and caring home.
Reply from Andrea Saunders, Business Development Manager at Ladymead Care HomeThank you for your positive comments. I particularly like the way you have mentioned a 'new chapter' as we aim to provide residents and their families with new experiences - as well as keeping people safe and feeling cared for

All the staff and management have without exception been extremely kind and caring towards my husband since he was admitted to Ladymead Care Home in November 2017. They are most diligent and his needs are very well looked after. His visitors whether family or friends are always made welcome as are his
dogs which mean that much to him. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ladymead Care Home to anyone else.

Mum only spent a short time in Ladymead but the level of care during that time was exceptional and faultless.
The staff were always patient, very caring and compassionate. I always felt confident mum was receiving the best care possible from all staff who are clearly very dedicated to the job they
do. All staff, management included were always supportive of the family's needs and always gave mum as much time as necessary to ensure she was adequately cared for without any rush.
I can't suggest any room for improvement. This is an exceptionally well run care home with very dedicated staff at all levels.
On behalf of all of my family many thanks.

A lovely care home with very friendly and caring staff. My mother spent her final two years here and enjoyed her stay, saying that was her new home.
As we lived in Essex and visiting involved a long car journey. It was nice to be offered hot drinks when we arrived, we were also able to obtain a midday
meal at a very reasonable cost.
I do not think we could have found a nicer care home.

My mother was a resident at Ladymead prior to her somewhat unexpected death in October. During her relatively short time there, she was treated by all the staff in a very compassionate and caring manner and given the best care possible. Because of mum's failing health, this was a very upsetting time
for me, and all staff I came into contact with, were willing to take the time to talk things through and give me support during this difficult period. I can thoroughly recommend Ladymead to other people considering a nursing home placement.

I came to visit my dear friend yesterday at Ladymead Care Home.
My friend was happy and content.
The staff are courteous, kind, caring and loving to their residents.
They are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
This care home struck me as a lovely environment to be in.

There is a lovely

atmosphere at Ladymead, I feel happy my friend is so well cared for and loved by the staff.

It is evident that the staff enjoy their jobs, the right people in the right job.

Dad spent five, very happy years living at Ladymead Care Home. Throughout that time he received professional care of the highest quality from all the staff. All of dad's needs were assessed in detail and reviewed frequently. However, he received so much more in support, understanding, conversation and
friendship from every member of staff irrespective of their role.
Dad became part of the Ladymead family and so did we when we visited him. Following Mum's death, Ladymead gave dad a new lease of life which included regular trips out and about locally when he was fit enough. He enjoyed the activities and outside visitors to Ladymead and loved to sit in the garden enjoying the flower displays always regularly updated.
Mental stimulation was important to dad which he received in ample quantities keeping him alert, engaged and positive.
All of dad's family extend our heartfelt thanks to Ladymead Care Home, a very special place which we hold in the highest esteem.

To the manager and all Ladymead staff, I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your loving care of my father. I was unable to travel from the US for his funeral yesterday, but I hear the staff gave him a wonderful send-off and a couple of staff even attended his funeral. Thank you, thank
you, and bless you for your kindness and warm hearted care. He was truly in the best place for the last 2 years of his life. Not only did you and your staff take superlative care of him, you treated every member of the family with your unique and beautiful caring attitudes.

My father has been a resident at Ladymead and unfortunately recently passed away. Members of the family spent the last two weeks at his bedside, and we were able to gain a true insight into the level of care and attention the home provides. I can say from direct experience, therefore, that Ladymead
is an absolutely superb home. All of the staff are dedicated to their patients' comfort and well-being and really do genuinely care for them. Their patience with some of the more confused patients was never-ending. I actually ate many meals at Ladymead and can confirm that the food is excellent. Their support of the family at this difficult time was wonderful: supplying endless cups of tea and biscuits; keeping us informed at every stage of what was going on; helping Father, keeping him comfortable and free of pain to the end. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this care home to anyone looking for a comfortable, caring, well-run home.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.755)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.755) out of 10 for Ladymead Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.755 for Ladymead Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (279 Excellents x 5) + (79 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.755
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ladymead Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
