Mum moved into Ladymead in March 2020. It provides a very friendly and caring environment and has a dedicated and professional team of nursing and care staff, many of whom have worked at Ladymead for a long time. There is a good family atmosphere. The leadership and management of the home are excellent,
and we have had a very positive experience of communication with both nursing and admin staff. On the occasions when there has been a change in Mum's condition or when she has expressed any concerns, we have been contacted very promptly, and issues have been dealt with very professionally.
Mum has been impressed by the attention to detail given to her personal care needs.
Unfortunately, Mum's stay at Ladymead has coincided with the Covid 19 epidemic as this has necessarily restricted activities and visits, but the team at Ladymead have done a great job in keeping the residents safe and happy. Visits in the garden and Skype calls have helped a lot.
Thank you, everyone.

My mum is incredibly content here despite having dementia. She loves all the staff and they make her feel safe and secure. She feels at home. The family are always kept up to date on what is happening. The staff always make time for relatives even in these difficult times. They are amazing and I cannot
thank them enough.

We always find the staff at Ladmead very friendly and helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they are very professional in everything they do. They put a lot of effort into arranging activities for the residents and managing their care. We feel very lucky that she has a place at Ladymead. Thank
you to the whole team.

In May, my mum was taken ill suddenly and had to be taken to hospital. After a week, it was clear she would not be able to return home and would need specialist palliative care. We were so lucky that Ladymead Care Home accepted her, as they had not been taking in any new people during the pandemic.
I was massively reassured by both the care manager and the deputy manager who couldn’t have been more helpful, kind and understanding. Once mum was moved from hospital to Ladymead, she settled in immediately and it was clear I’d made an excellent choice – mum said she wanted for nothing, everyone was really friendly, and that even the food was good. I can honestly say that since mum has been at Ladymead, the care has been nothing short of excellent. The staff are 100% dedicated to the safety and the happiness of those in their care, and nothing is too much trouble for them. They work tirelessly and selflessly and I can’t thank them enough for everything they do.
Reply from Kakkirikkan Chalil Byju Vasudevan, Home Manager at Ladymead Care HomeThanks, Marcelle for taking your time to write such an excellent review which will certainly help people who are looking for care.

Mum spent the last six months of her life living at Ladymead Care Home following a longer than expected spell in hospital. It was not an easy decision to make to move her there but it was the best one for all of us. Right from my initial contact with the Care Home Manager, all of the staff I met were
very friendly and nothing ever appeared to much trouble even when they were clearly busy. The kindness shown to mum was touching and we were always kept informed of any updates regarding her health and welfare. The last few weeks were difficult but Ladymead staff didn’t mind us calling every day and even facilitated video calling so we could see and speak to mum. I am so grateful for the respect, care and attention given to mum and highly recommend Ladymead.

I have always been happy for Mum to be at Ladymead, it is like having an extended family. I know Mum is in safe hands. During this horrible time of Coronavirus, it is even harder, as we cannot visit our most precious loved ones.
True to form, Ladymead came up trumps, and we can video call Mum at arranged
times.
I think this shows the true love and care that Ladymead is all about.
Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for the care you gave to my Grandad, as a family, we can’t thank you enough for all you did for him during his time with you. We found it super difficult not being able to see him during these strange times, but we hold much comfort knowing he was so well cared for.
Nurse kept us
updated on how he was doing all the time, even using video calling, and we really appreciate the communication we had at all times.
Thank you again for looking after our dear, much loved, Grandad.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Ladymead for taking care of my father-in-law. As a family, we cannot thank you enough for your care and consideration, especially during such unusual and difficult times. You kept us updated and in touch (using technology to video call), going above and beyond
what was expected. We were all so impressed with the homely feel at your home and the fact that the staff really do care. This is filtered down from the brilliant manager to the nurses and staff who together work as a fantastic team in what can be, at times, very challenging. It is with sadness that my father-in-law lost his fight to live but we are happy to know that he was made as comfortable as possible and the staff cared for him and were there to the very end, which we dearly thank you all for.

What a wonderful home with such fantastic and caring staff. During these difficult times, they are making it so much easier to keep in touch with Mum with video calling. It is so vital that we are able to talk and even better to see each other. The staff are so busy but take the time to ensure we have
the best contact possible with our Mum. She is so happy and settled and this is down to all the lovely staff who take such good care of her; not just in these uncertain times but every single day. Big shout out to them all.

Ladymead has a lovely homely feel. The staff genuinely care and treated my father with kindness and dignity throughout his time there. When I visited, I was greeted with warmth and the staff felt like an extension of our family. When my father sadly reached the end of his life, I and the rest of the
family were very glad he was at Ladymead - the staff ensured he was as comfortable as possible and were very supportive to us all.

My mother was admitted to Ladymead Care Home approximately four years ago. My mum had complex and emotional needs, and I can honestly say that each and every member of staff was unbelievably wonderful. They became like family to my mum and me, and from where we were before she was admitted, to the way
she relaxed and felt safe at Ladymead, was outstanding. I cannot recommend Ladymead enough.

My mum was terminally ill with bladder cancer. She had been admitted to a hospice in February 2019. The doctors thought she was going to die but she came back out in March 2019 and went to Ladymead Care Home in Wroughton. From the beginning, she was treated with respect and dignity. The staff and management

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.755)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.755) out of 10 for Ladymead Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.755 for Ladymead Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (279 Excellents x 5) + (79 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.755
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ladymead Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
