My sister has been at Ladymead Care Home for about 18 months. The staff are always kind and considerate to my sister, respecting her dignity and wishes.
I am always included in her care needs and involved with all her needs. Every morning and afternoon, there are always activities going on and a lot
of singers and other entertainers coming to the home.
My sister moved from Reading to be close to her family and I think I definitely chose the correct home for my sister. Even the manager and assistant manager take time for my sister's needs and sit, talk and laugh with her.

My mum is a resident of Ladymead, she is looked after extremely well, the carers are really lovely, friendly and caring and do their best to make my mums stay as comfortable as possible. There are daily activities such as bingo, quizzes etc and my mum is encouraged to join in and not sit on her own,
she especially enjoys the musical entertainment. Cannot praise the staff highly enough for their care for my mum.

My 95 year old Mother-in-law became more frail and determined to die. The staff and management provided intensive care and love.
As she became seriously ill, they nursed her to the last.
All showed love and care for her, way beyond their official duties. She was in the home just short of 3 years in
total and enjoyed her time there. Thank you.

I'm very happy with the way my father is looked after at Ladymead. He is included in all activities as he wants. He was taken on a trip to see Christmas lights at the local outlet centre before Christmas which he enjoyed.

Mum is looked after with excellent service. All the nurses talk to us and mum with her problems, the food is excellent and the entertainment is very good. We came on Christmas Day and the staff made us very happy in the lounge.
Would recommend this home.

My wife was not very well when she came to Ladymead. The staff are very caring, nurses particularly are very experienced, the staff are very kind and compassionate. They are taking care of her very well, and I and my family very pleased with the improvement with her health and mentality. Her mind is
getting better and I can speak to her now sensibly. I do recommend Ladymead to my friends and the taxi drivers that brings me to nursing daily to visit my wife.

My dad passed away after being in the care of Ladymead for the past 9 months. I truly believe that they gave him a better quality of life, care & love for his final months.
The staff came to know and love him and treated him with the dignity he deserved.
It is a very well run care home that I can
100 % recommend. He took part in activities that he would not normally have done, had conversations he wouldn't of been able to have had and it all enhanced his final days.

My sister and myself choose Ladymede nursing home because mum had lived in Wroughton for 53 years and we felt she needed to be in Wroughton. Mum was offered a downstairs room and when we went for a show around the home was clean, the residents that we seen all seemed happy, relaxed and cared for. The
staff were a mixture of qualified nurses and carers also a doctor visited the home once a week and if the need arose mum had access to a doctor in an emergency. The care was good and if mum had any bruises, cuts or falls pictures were taken and put into her file but our mum was so good that she always told us before the staff informed us. The food was very good and cooked on site mum was offered a choice of what she wanted to eat each day. Activities were provided every day of the week for residents who wanted to take part. The hairdresser came in twice a week and mum was able to have her nails painted once a week. A lady also bought her dog in once a week for the residents to pat. Entertainment was also available at different times during the year and trips out to various places. We would like to thank the Manager and all the team for there care and attention to our dear mum during her time spent in Ladymead.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.755) out of 10 for Ladymead Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.755 for Ladymead Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (279 Excellents x 5) + (79 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.755
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ladymead Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

“I’ve been working at Ladymead since 2009. My favourite part of my day is arriving at work knowing I will see my work colleagues and of course our lovely residents. I first worked at Ladymead in 1997; leaving in 2000 to bring our children up. Then, after 9 years, an opportunity came up and my old job became available and I was blessed to be employed again, it was like I had never left. This has been the highlight of my career.”
