The staff team at Ladymead Care Home are genuinely warm, caring and friendly. They work very well together. The residents benefit greatly from all of this. There is competition for places when they become available, which says a lot. I know that our mum is being very well looked after.

My mum has been with you since June 2022. We really appreciate the care provided, it is gold standard. The staff are super friendly always open to chat and very importantly, see my mum as an individual, taking the time to look after her in the way that she would wish. Personal touches go a very long
way. All the staff are excellent regardless of the role and work as a dedicated warm and friendly team. Best wishes to you all.

The care provided by the staff at Ladymead was personalised and personable. They went out of their way to befriend my mum and make her stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it could be. We always felt welcome and even when covid restrictions made visits difficult, we were accommodated. There is a real
family atmosphere, which the staff promote with all residents and visitors too. The laughter and singing really helped mum with her anxieties.

I have a friend who has memory problems (dementia) and who is partially sighted. She had recently lost her husband who was her carer and she could no longer remain living by herself.

I began the search for somewhere for my friend to live permanently. The difference with Ladymead was that all the

staff I met, gave me such a warm welcome; from the Receptionist to meeting the Manager, the nursing/qualified staff and all the ancillary people - all of whom make a difference to someone's life. They explained how it could all work for my friend and they were able to answer all my questions. Showed me around the home. There was no pressure to use them though.

My friend moved in a couple of months ago and I can honestly say, she has had all her needs met. They welcomed her into the Ladymead family. She enjoys the meals and all the entertainment/activities. She is now a much happier, content lady. I would recommend Ladymead to anyone.

My husband was left in bed most days, his personal hygiene was questionable, but to give their due, he didn’t get bed sores. All show when we FaceTimed and visited. It was through COVID but we never saw his room. My family had their concerns as well. My husband needed mental stimulation as he couldn’t
talk, double incontinent, could not do anything for himself. He use to cry a lot there, he hated it. He was there a year before I got him moved to an Independent nursing home and he was there from September 2021 until he passed away in January 2022 but those few months there were marvellous, he was never left on his own, he loved all the wonderful staff. My only regret was that he was in Ladymead Wroughton for a year and my family all agree.
Reply from Kakkirikkan Chalil Byju Vasudevan, Home Manager at Ladymead Care HomeI am sad to learn we have not met your expectations, even though we had a number of conversations to ensure we are fully appraised of your husband's preferences. Unfortunately, at the time, the home was at a peak of a COVID outbreak and safety of all our residents was considered in line with the government guidelines. Our team facilitated frequent Facetime calls to ensure, as a family, you remain in touch and able to emotionally support your husband. Our aim is to ensure we learn from each experience and the service and our team will grow into meeting each preference, need and expectation with the usual professionalism

My husband came to Ladymead after spending 7 months between 2 different hospitals. Staff have been very good, excellent with communication, not like the hospital. He spend most of the time in bed and is on peg feeding, so can not comment on food/drink or activities but I do know there is activities
that go on. They seem to be doing a very good job, brain stimulation has improved.

During my stay at Ladymead, I could not have asked for better care and attention. It was a pleasure to meet the carers and learn a lot about where they came from. Such a happy team!
The only downside was a member of the office staff was very aloof and rude!

My mum was transferred to this care home after a nasty fall in October. She was originally in a care home in another area but she needed the extra help that Ladymead could provide. From the moment she arrived the staff were very friendly, helpful and caring and they did everything they could to make
Mum comfortable and safe.
Very many thanks for everything. I would definitely recommend your care to anyone who needed it.

Mum has recently moved to Ladymead. It’s early days however, I wanted to say what a fantastic welcome she has received. After 3 months in hospital Mum has lost all her confidence and had become a different person after enduring hospital care, she has become so confused and upset. Right from the word
go Ladymead have understood this, even in Covid times I was able to deliver items prior to Mum's arrival to personalise her room. After the appropriate isolation and cleaning, the team set Mum's room up so thoughtfully. They sent me photos of her room set up for her arrival. I must admit to having a tear as Mum had not been cared for like this for so long. Even before her arrival, she was being treated as a person, not a patient, this is so refreshing and reassuring. Thank you everyone at Ladymead for the respect and care you have shown to Mum.

My good friend moved to Ladymead several months ago, after he was very unwell and spent a period in hospital. He is now a permanent resident. In a very short time his health, both physical and mental, have improved drastically. He is very positive about the home whenever I speak to him, enjoying the
meals (cooked breakfast every day!), company, entertainment (bingo etc.), and most importantly relationships with the staff. He talks very highly of them, giving examples of how they help him with any day to day problems he encounters e.g. how to use his mobile phone. The manager is always positive, attentive and full of information about how he is progressing when I contact the home. The staff simply can't do enough for him. This is at odds with what I have heard about other homes and so I felt I should write this review.

I was recommended this home by a friend. In November I had a situation with my parents. Dad had broken his hip and Mum ended up on her own. We had to make a decision for mum as her dementia was starting to take effect. I contacted this care to explain, and immediately the manager understood our position,
so prompt at making an appointment to review my mum, within 2/3 days they were able to accept her. They placed her in a room and told me they were also able to accept dad if needed. Which they have and are both in the same room. I am so pleased I contacted this care home, everything seems perfect, both parents are very happy. To the extent that they think they are on holiday. They both say what hotel is this? Great staff, all so very friendly and caring as it should be.
Well done Ladymead - please do not change, would not hesitate in recommending this care home.

Due to the impact of Covid, we were unable to visit Ladymead prior to Mum's transfer/discharge from hospital and, other than some photos and information we found on the internet, selected the care home "blind". We are extremely pleased and thankful for all the support and care she has received; indeed
her current mental health, in particular, seems to have improved and this can only be due to the care she is receiving.

My mother was in another care home but after a hospital stay, we had to move her to Ladymead for the extra nursing care. As a family, we were a little bit worried how she would settle as she had been so well looked after at her previous home.

All I can say is that if anyone is looking for somewhere

for a family member where they will be cared for and made to feel both loved and special then Ladymead is the place to look at. All through lockdown and beyond all the team have done everything they can to make sure that some sort of contact is maintained with family members whilst keeping everyone safe.

It is always a very difficult decision to admit that your relative can no longer be cared for at home but to know that they are safe and been cared for so well is such a relief for the whole family.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.755)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.755) out of 10 for Ladymead Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.755 for Ladymead Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (279 Excellents x 5) + (79 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.755
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ladymead Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
