My father is a resident at Metchley Manor and I could not be happier with the care he is receiving. I was concerned that he may not settle well, but the opposite has been the case - he settled in very quickly and is enjoying the range of activities on offer. The whole family has been made welcome on our visits - I've even brought my dog, who was very popular with several residents! Dad's room is lovely - extremely comfortable and well-appointed. The entire building is always spotlessly clean and fresh. The bistro area is a great bonus and the wide variety of activities and outings is very impressive. It feels like a real community. For Dad's birthday, we booked the private dining room for a family lunch. We were really well looked after and enjoyed excellent food in beautiful surroundings. I visit frequently and am always made to feel welcome. The staff are wonderful - every one of them is friendly, caring and professional.

The care, kindness are just outstanding. From the admin to carers. Thank you for all you do. My mom leads a full life and is consulted on all matters related to her well-being. Her room is lovely bright and very clean. The food is as good as a hotel.

My mom is a resident at Metchley Manor, since she has been there (from July 2024) she is happy and content. We don't feel worried about her anymore. And when we visit it is a beautiful setting and mom is happy to see us. She walks us to the outside area if the weather is nice, and we sit and play dominoes, cards or games, it is an enjoyable experience.

This is my second set of relatives that have been at the home and I think that says a lot about the quality of service here at Metchley Manor. The staff are always very friendly and helpful even to us when we visit as well as the residents. The food is amazing and we have eaten there on several occasions and are always surprised at the quality and presentation of the food.

Overall we feel that our relatives are always in safe hands.

My mum has just celebrated her 100th Birthday at Metchley Manor and what an amazing day it was. The staff went out of their way to ensure her day was a very special one. She was joined by family, friends, residents and colleagues for a delicious afternoon tea including a cake made by the chef which was simply beautiful. The team at Metchley Manor did us proud and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending it.

When having to choose a care home for my father we had to do so quickly due to his rapidly declining health. The team immediately set my mind at rest as to how quickly they could accommodate Dad and within a matter of days we were able to move him, initially for respite care, but he is now a permanent resident. Our experience since Dad has been there has been superb. The staff are incredibly caring not just towards Dad but also us as we’re dealing with his ongoing failing health. We feel he’s getting the right specialist support for his needs and he is being well cared for and staff are proactive in identifying what needs to be addressed as and when his needs arise. On top of that the facilities are excellent and the food is second to none! I would highly recommend Metchley Manor. The peace of mind it has brought us as a family is allowing us to enjoy the time we have left with Dad and we all feel supported and cared for by the wonderful staff who work there.

This care home is wonderful. My aunt was poorly on arrival, gaining weight with excellent food and care. Staff always interact with residents and identify the activities that suit to each, monthly programme of activities interactive and stimulating. The hygiene of the home and residents is impeccable. A beautiful coffee area where you can have a full range of drinks/cakes. Meals, what I describe as classy restaurant with diet requirements even linen cloths/serviettes. Visiting recently with relatives from Holland in the private dining room chose from the residents' lunch menu, homemade soup, seafood risotto and dessert, perfect. Her room is beautiful, spacious, tastefully decorated, own bathroom. Care and clinical care are very good and you can always speak to a member of the teams to discuss your loved one, they do what they say they will and action concerns. So happy my aunt is here. If I were to be in a care home, this is where I would want to be, I have not visited anywhere like this.

Mum has been a resident at Metchley Manor Care Home since April 2023. As a family, we knew it was the right thing to move Mum but still, not an easy decision. The director of community relations made the process of getting all the paperwork done as painless as possible. Much easier for us as we have power of attorney! A welcome information pack would have been useful, including information about meal times, Wi-Fi codes, a bit of a run down about staff members and sample menu, information about the cafe area being help yourself etc. however I do live three hours away and my brother is local so he may have had all that information!
When I visit, Mum is always clean and tidy and all members of staff know her name and chat to her when we are walking around the home.
The dementia coordinator is excellent at keeping in touch with her medical needs and telling us what the doctor has said, medication changes etc.
The home is clean and great, they have a minibus so Mum can still get out and about, walks, meals, theatre etc.

Mum is now safe and well cared for and that is important!

We needed to find a home for respite care for my mother as she had had a fall and we were going on a holiday that week. The staff at Metchley Manor were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Mum has now decided to stay permanently, giving me a lot of reassurance over her care and well-being.

My friend transferred from a different care home and this was undoubtedly a daunting time for her. However, I was with her as she moved in and any reservations were soon quelled as her welcome could not have been warmer. The building itself is welcoming and you walk into somewhere with the feeling of a hotel with a lounge, coffee area, large dining room and sweeping staircase.
The member of the management team was very kind, understanding and encouraging and both on that day and since she has spent a lot of time with my friend getting to know her as a person and her needs.
The caregivers are all kind and attentive.
Her room is attractive and, as throughout the building, the standard of cleanliness is good.
The meals - always very important to the residents - are of a very good standard and very well presented in a very spacious dining room. The menu has good choices.

There is a range of activities to choose from and an impressive selection of outings suiting a mixture of tastes.

Dad moved into Metchley Manor only a couple of weeks ago and from the beginning it has exceeded all our expectations. It’s a beautiful, clean place with a very homely feel and everyone is so caring and kind. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone goes out of their way to help the residents and their family. Dad regularly joins in with the organised activities and trips and it’s so re-assuring for the family to know that dad is happy and very well cared for. This place is a true gem!

Mum has been a resident on reminiscence for almost 4 years. She is happy and content and has a lovely relationship with the carers. The home is resident centred, looking at activities and things that give purpose, this means Mum is active and living the best quality life possible. If she wants to be up and about and join in, she can, if she wants to have a day in bed, she can. The staff are great and I have always found them and the manager on her floor very approachable. The 'new' management, since the home changed hands, both on Mum's floor and the home overall are very responsive which is also good and reassuring for a family member. It is a lovely environment and one Mum is clearly happy in, which is so important to us, It would be hard to think of anywhere better for her.

Metchley Manor exceeded all my expectations of a residential care home. My uncle was a resident for over two years and during that time he particularly enjoyed his trips to the five-star dining room where an award-winning Head Chef conjures up what can only be described as delicious-tasting art on a plate. I also saw how fond so many of the carers became of my uncle which was lovely to know since I live and work in London and only weekly or fortnightly visits were possible. The high levels of care were outstanding - nothing being too much trouble. Aged 91 when my uncle was dying the levels of care went over and beyond. Spending the last few weeks 'living' temporarily with him, I can never praise the staff highly enough. Little things such as offering aromatherapy and massage at the end of life make a difference. If ever I had needed proof that he had a wonderful 'family' at Metchley, I saw it during these weeks. I cannot recommend Metchley Manor enough.

Mum has lived a full and active life so when we realised she needed care it was not going to be easy to find somewhere that would support her to remain active and busy but that is exactly what Metchley Manor has done.
From the minute we stepped into Metchley Manor's doors, we knew this would be the right place for Mum.
The staff are compassionate, caring, knowledgeable and professional. They were incredibly supportive as Mum transitioned to the home and provided Mum with first-class care all around.
The comprehensive activities programme that runs seven days a week means Mum is busy and living a full life.

The food and hospitality at Metchley Manor are second to none, and the small touches, like the staff knowing Mum's favourite songs so they can play them on Alexa in the dining room, make the home such a special place. We could not recommend it enough to other families.

Mum has lived at Metchley Manor since 2017, initially in the assisted living section and then, when her dementia got much worse, in Reminiscence. Being able to keep her in the same place rather than having to find a new home was wonderful, and I wouldn't have wanted to move her anyway. Firstly, it's a really lovely environment - honestly feels more like a nice hotel rather than a care home in many ways. Secondly, and in many ways more importantly, she is genuinely cared for by staff who believe in what they are doing. She is looked after by the same staff as when she first moved in, and the person who was her main carer in assisted living still goes to visit her in Reminiscence. That's the same staff for six years, and because it is so hard for her to make new memories, that continuity is really important. They are wonderful people, and mum clearly feels safe and happy there. I cannot recommend the place highly enough.
