After very intense searches and visiting ten plus local care homes looking for a home for my 90-year-old Grandma to move from her own home two plus hours away. I was incredibly relieved to find Metchley Manor. The home is beautiful, clean, warm, bright and the staff are welcoming, kind, polite, and care well for my Grandma. There are a variety of activities on offer, to sneakily keep the residents moving and well. The bistro space for meeting families and having a cup of tea or biscuits is lovely. My grandma was a french teacher, and the chef is french so comes and chats with my grandma in french which is so lovely for her. Her mobility and quality of life has significantly improved since she moved into Metchley Manor in August. The difference in other care homes which I viewed for the same cost is incredible. I am so relieved she was able to move in here.

My dad has lived a full and active life so when we realised he needed care it was not going to be easy to find somewhere that would embrace his independent character, but that is exactly what Metchley Manor has done. The staff are approachable and keep me up to date with dad's care needs and they treat him with respect and dignity, going out of their way to make his life as comfortable as possible. My dad is safe, content, well fed and clean, living in a calm and friendly environment. This is everything we hoped for when looking for a care home for dad.

My mother was a resident at Metchley Manor for a number of years and the overall experience was very positive. The home is in pleasant surroundings and my mother had a lovely room in which she was able to have her own furniture. There is a high standard of cleanliness and the staff are always cheerful and courteous. They have a concierge available to deal with all incoming enquiries and we found we could always get help and speak to the relevant person. The care team worked extremely hard to support my mother and were always happy to talk to my sister and me. There were frequent activities and occasional trips out in the minibus. The dining room and bistro are both excellent and a private family room is also available to book for family meals. We are grateful to the management and staff team for the high quality of the service provided.

Metchley Manor, formerly Sunrise of Edgbaston, provides first-class facilities for my mother and the other residents. The home is akin to a 5-star hotel with good food, well-maintained facilities and an extensive programme of activities. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the level of care during the day is very good. My brothers and I are very pleased that our mother is settling in there.

Staff have always been very kind and helpful. The range of activities has been good. Inevitably during lockdown activities involving outsiders have been more limited than normal but the staff have done their best to make sure residents still had a good range of activities. The home has taken on board suggestions of activities. The food always looks inviting. My dad took some time to settle into the home but the staff have always been supportive of him and us as his family. I would have no doubt recommending Metchley to people looking for a high-quality care home with caring and effective staff.

I just wanted to praise all the staff at Sunrise for all their wonderful hard work and efforts in caring for my 97-year-old mother these last 4-years and especially throughout the pandemic. My mother has been absolutely brilliantly cared for, and the staff have done so much to keep their home safe. There have been amazing alterations carried out to allow for indoor Pod visits earlier on with further alterations to the front to allow for outside visits and sympathetic landscaping. It is clear that my mother feels safe, at home and very comfortable with the staff, who are so caring and kind.

The staff were fantastic today when we needed a family visit with our solicitor. They really went out of their way to accommodate us in a Covid safe way, providing a lovely lunch. We were most grateful. They all work so hard and really should receive great recognition and praise for all they do. So, thank you very, very much to all the staff.

One of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, but the compassion, understanding, knowledge and professionalism of the team at Edgbaston have made this so much easier.

My mum has settled quickly and is happy, and this is down to the amazing staff on the Reminiscence floor. They are calm, take everything in their stride, and truly understand the needs of their residents.

I cannot find fault with any element of the service provided here from the minute you ring the bell to saying goodbye.

Thank you, everyone, you are all a credit to your organisation.

I would like to thank the team on Reminiscence Floor for the care and attention they gave to my mother during her recent stay.
My 93-year-old mother suffers from advanced dementia and was recovering from hospitalisation due to Covid and sepsis. The care, patience and kindness shown to her were exceptional; and truly reflects the ethos and values of the team and their dedication to the provision of care in very trying times.

Thank you.

Although quite hesitant initially, Dad soon embraced life at Sunrise and enjoyed the camaraderie, activities and friendly atmosphere. The staff could not do enough to help him settle in, and he was made to feel very welcome. They treated him as an individual, and nothing was too much trouble. Sadly, Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer at Christmas, and that was when Sunrise's caring staff really excelled beyond our expectations. They knew what support to offer to both us and Dad and offered excellent end of life care under very difficult circumstances due to Covid. I can't praise them enough and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sunrise as a brilliant assisted living complex.

Mum was struggling with the lockdown resulting from the Covid 19 pandemic, and we, therefore, agreed she needed some time out to recharge her batteries, be looked after and have some social interaction. We chose Sunrise Edgbaston because we had had good reviews from friends of Mum who had been there following operations. Mum has thoroughly enjoyed her time there, especially the food, the kindness of the team, and the activities. Mum is still there and very happy. She has received both injections and is now back to her best. I have no issues recommending Sunrise Edgbaston.

Mum has Alzheimer’s and we reached a point where she wasn’t safe to live on her own. Such a tough and upsetting decision to make. Mum moved into Sunrise of Edgbaston in November 2020 and I cannot rate the home highly enough. I found leaving Mum in someone else’s care the hardest thing ever, but we as a family have been so well looked after and reassured. We ring up regularly and the care staff are happy to tell us how Mum has been, we receive photos of Mum regularly too and she looks so well and is clearly so well cared for. The carers must be amazing as they’ve got Mum to have a shower (we struggled with this when she was at home for the last year)! We have been extremely lucky that Mum has settled in really quickly. With regard to visiting, we were initially able to settle Mum into her room, which is huge, clean and homely. We then arranged FaceTime calls and window visits. Mum is so relaxed, we are so pleased and would highly recommend Sunrise of Edgbaston.

I was in respite care on leaving the hospital with a broken ankle. The reception and care by staff were impressive, efficient and friendly.
