Mum has been here 3 years now and we think that she is very happy. The care is excellent (she was previously in a home where that was not the case) and the difference is night and day. We love the social media posts and it helps us feel more connected even when we cannot always visit.
My husband is taken very good care of. Standards of care depend on the staff on duty, although basics are always OK. Food and drink are always varied and plentiful. Management and staff very friendly.
Very pleased with the care he is given, always looks clean and tidy well depends on what staff are on. He has plenty to eat and drink.
Mum is treated with love and respect by all members of staff. Following a fall, Mum was well looked after until the ambulance arrived and was escorted to the hospital by a member of the care team until we arrived at the hospital. The deputy manager kept in touch with me during the evening by phone whilst Mum was assessed. The Manager visited Mum the next morning following her hip operation. Rather than Mum be moved to a rehabilitation hospital the home offered to take her back as they felt they could fully care for her in familiar surroundings. Thank you so much.
My mum has been a resident for about 8 months. Brandon House provides a fun and caring environment. Regular entertainment, crafts and trips keep Mum happy and engaged.
Care good depending on the staff on duty.
Generally very friendly staff. Nice to see my aunt and always seems clean and content.
Brandon House is a lovely homely place. Mum seems quite happy here and I don't worry about her when I leave. The staff are really nice and very easy to get on with.
Whilst there were a few members of staff that were good, the majority lack the skills to care for the people in the home. My dad was not well cared for (for the most part), his basic needs were not met and as such, we felt the need to move him urgently. I felt that my dad’s dignity was not retained and his social requirements not supported. I would not recommend this care home for loved ones.
Thank you for your comments. We are very sorry to hear of your poor experience at Brandon House. Please accept our sincere apologies for any upset or distress caused and if you would like to meet to discuss your concerns please feel free to contact me. In the meantime, I hope your Father has settled well in his new home.
The extras the home does are really impressive, things like the summer fete. Even when some of the people in the home are being awkward, the staff are always caring and patient. I couldn't do it.
The staff are lovely, the food is great, they are so helpful. They take them out on lovely trips.
The home is lovely, it's clean and the rooms are lovely. They are great with the residents, they do so many activities with them.
The management team are very diligent about the way the home is run. Around them, they have extremely capable staff who show to the residents a very caring, respectful and patient manner, whether they be carers, kitchen staff or support staff.
As well as providing good quality food, medical support from nurses and day to day hygiene and personal care from trained staff, the home arranges extensive activities to occupy the residents time. These include in-home activities, entertainment from semi-professional artists and very frequent outings in the home's own minibus.
Altogether, a highly recommendable home for elderly people diagnosed with dementia.
Brandon House is a lovely place to be. My mother is well cared for and liked by all staff. When I visit, I feel I am coming into a family as I am always made to feel welcome and offered drinks. Staff are always ready to chat and listen and give advice if needed.
A very caring home.
All the hard work and preparation for the day was appreciated by all residents and families.
The staff who dressed in costumes were great.
A special thank you to the Brandon House entertainments person.
Friendly care team who are always very welcoming to family. One to one care of my mother is lovely, that they always try to understand her and take their time with her.
I see my dad once a week. He always cheers up when the staff are with him. I feel that staff are good for my dad and help him.
The staff all seem to be nice and caring and my grandad seems to get on well with everyone.
It was nice that the first week he is here there is entertainment.
I'm guessing in the future, I will recommend this care provider to others.
Excellent entertainment put on too. All made to feel very welcome and at home.
