My Mum has been resident since November 2025. We were warmly welcomed on the first day, being greeted at the door by staff and immediately being offered refreshments in the lounge, before being settled into her room. The staff are hard working and dedicated to the residents, and are interested in them as people. Nothing is too much trouble. Visitors are welcomed and made to feel comfortable. Staff have words of encouragement for relatives, which I have found comforting, as well as for residents. I feel my Mum is well cared for by committed staff, she is well fed and the care home is kept clean and tidy by an equally dedicated cleaning team, who are also friendly towards residents and visitors. Above all I know that if I cannot get there, I have the confidence and peace of mind that she is well looked after and most importantly, she is safe. Thank you to all the team for your efforts.
Thank you so much for your review. We are happy that mum has settled in with us and you are happy with the service we provide.
The only...
The only slight negative was the phones kept ringing and seemed to go unanswered for some time which could be disturbing to the residents. Apart from that, it seems a very nice place
Thank you so much for your review and feedback. I'm glad you were made to feel welcomed by the staff when you visited and that you are happy with the home and staff overall. Unfortunately, the phones do ring constantly, I think we all dream about them when we are at home! :-) I hope your relative continues to enjoy staying with us.
This home and its staff are outstanding, the food is well cooked and always served with a smile, all the carer's are kind and nothing is too much trouble for them, there are nurses on site all day and night who respond quickly to any signs of illness. The rooms aren't huge but very clean and...
I can only say thankyou all for taking such good care of my 95yr old mum and should we need more care in the future we will be heading back your way again.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service, it was a pleasure to provide care and support for your mum.

She has only upper body mobility and as such is hoisted into and out of beds, chairs etc. That said she always appears to be happy and content with her life. Since our mom moved into Ashgrove in May 2022, we couldn't be happier. From the moment she arrived the care has been exemplary. All staff have been wonderful but I would like to compliment one member of staff who has gone above and beyond what is expected.

Caring isn't easy, and I appreciate what is being done for my dear relative.

My mother has been at Ashgrove Care Home since September last year. In that time she is happier due to mixing with everyone and well looked after and more mobile. I cannot thank you enough.

Caring friendly staff, attentive and helpful nursing care and plenty of activities to keep my mom occupied and interactive. Overall, my mom has settled in well and appears to be happy.

Mom has received good care since arriving here. It's unfortunate due to covid and the possible sale of the home Ashgrove seems to have a lot of agency staff. Obviously, with dementia residents, it's important to have members of staff they can relate to.

l would like to thank you for the positive feedback in relation to the care your mother receives at Ashgrove. We endeavour to do our utmost to support our resident’s holistic needs, and where it is identified that we can improve upon the service we provide we aim to do so. I fully understand that continuity of care is of the utmost importance to our residents, and it’s important to have familiar faces that our residents can relate to. To offer you some assurances, I can confirm that we have recruited all of our care vacancies and no longer utilise care agency, and we have only one remaining night nurse post vacant. This post is currently backfilled by an agency nurse to ensure safe staffing for our residents, and we do always endeavour to have the same nurses as much as possible to gain that continuity of care and consistent staffing approach.
Always very happy with the care and support provided for my mother. Good communication from the home to keep me informed, especially during the covid pandemic.

The manager is brilliant and runs the home so well. I couldn't be happier knowing she is so well cared for. Thank you.
Mom was made very welcome from the day she moved in. The manager at the time was very friendly, nothing too much trouble, any problems and his door was always open. The manager who is there now is the same, had a good meeting with her and aired our problems with certain staff, she sorted it. All...

Ashgrove looked after my nan for around 6 months as she was end of life. We as a family have been really happy with the care and attention that my nan and we received up to and after she sadly passed away. My nan was happy there and often told me how nice the staff were.

The staff have gone above and beyond to keep communication open from weekly emails, FaceTime with staff and setting up FaceTime every week so I can speak to my aunt. I applaud their dedication to their clients and know that my aunt is happy and well cared for. Thank you.
The staff are friendly and caring at all times the care my mom received I could not fault. It's all clean and tidy and the food is varied. I could not wish for a better care home for my mom.

I can't speak highly enough of this home. I say this 'home' because that is exactly what it has become to my mom. Since she has been in Ashgrove, my mom has settled into not being in a 'care' home, but in a home with a new family - carers and friends, and she is very content and happy with the...
I can't speak highly enough of this home. I say this 'home' because that is exactly what it has become to my mom. Since she has been in Ashgrove, my mom has settled into not being in a 'care' home, but in a home with a new family - carers and friends, and she is very content and happy with the situation. Having just celebrated her 100th birthday, with the management and carers making it very special for her - as with covid, we, her family couldn't. I couldn't ask for a nicer home for my mom - since she couldn't stay in her own.
After my mother was put on an end of life pathway 2 years ago she moved into Ashgrove where they have prolonged her life with their attention to her care package and their caring nature to her needs. The staff are caring and very knowledgeable and take pride in their roles and you can see they see...
The facilities and atmosphere here are above and beyond and maintained to a high level. My mother was particularly impressed by the food with home-cooked meals available throughout the day, amazing homemade cakes and treats. Some would say better than a 5-star hotel. Residents have the freedom to choose what they want when they want.
If you are reading this review as you are looking for somewhere to care for a loved one, you couldn’t ask for more and Ashgrove will eliminate those doubts you may be having.
Happy in general. Would like more fresh air weather permitting. Would like to sit outside all day, ha ha.
