From the moment dad arrived the staff were kind and caring. He was only there for 11 days for end of life care. The staff ensured his final days were comfortable and dignified. He certainly enjoyed the food. Thank you to all the staff. Special mention to Raj on reception - who always has a smile on her face and a kind word.
Thank you for your lovely review. Hopefully you can go away from this feeling like your Dad received the best possible care at The Priory in his final days.
Excellent.
My brother is well looked after. He's comfortable and pain free. The staff are very accommodating.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are so pleased to hear that your Brother is well looked after and cared for at The Priory Care Home. We take pride in creating a caring environment, and it's lovely to hear that reflected in your comments. We're committed to continuing to support you and your family in every way we can.
First day for my father but very much taken by the care and consideration shown by the staff. Facilities are fantastic and very high level of staffing.
Thank you for your feedback. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your Father's stay as comfortable as possible.
I have enjoyed my time at The Priory and with all the good care & attention I have recovered well from my fractured neck bone. But being honest I am looking foward to going back home and being in my own house, and back with my husband. Thank you all for looking after me.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are happy to have been able to support you for a period of respite care. Providing kind and attentive care is in the heart of everything we do, so it's lovely to hear your feedback. Thank you for choosing The Priory for your stay.
Although only in care home for 13 months, I can honestly say that it was the best possible place to spend the last of her days. She had good company, good care and was safe. She was able to maintain her dignity, was well treated and the only thing better would of been for her to remain in her own home which she was unable to do.
We appreciate you taking the time to write this during what must be a very difficult time. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one has been cared for and looked after. We're fortunate to have such a dedicated and compassionate team, and it's wonderful to see their...
I regularly go to visit a friend who lives in the Priory home. My friend and all the residents and visitors are very well looked after and have very good entertainment for everyone. All the people there seem very happy and enjoy living there.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We want our home to feel like a community, and it's wonderful to hear that you feel a part of it. Thank you for recognizing the effort our activities team put into creating meaningful moments with residents. We're committed to making every day as positive and comfortable as possible for your loved one.
The whole experience of getting my husband in & settled was great. He seems happy & well cared for. Every need is anticipated & catered for.
We're so grateful that you've taken the time to share your thoughts. It is wonderful to hear that your husband has settled in comfortably with us and it is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We're looking forward to creating many more happy memories with you and your family.
It became apparent that care was needed in order to figure out the requirements as care needs were becoming demanding. The Manager and staff could not have been more understanding and responsive to this new and daunting situation. The Care home is exceptional and residents are treated to a very high standard of care.
Your feedback means a lot to us and the team at The Priory Care Home. It's lovely to know that you feel reassured that your loved one is safe and well looked after. Feedback like yours motivates us to keep striving to provide the highest standards of care. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.
I was generally happy with the care my father received at the Priory. The nurses and careers looked after him well, they were kind, caring and respectful to him and always greeted him with a smile. He enjoyed the activities at the home that he was able to participate in like a visit from the therapy dog, shetland ponies and bird of prey as well as the singers who wold come up to sing to him. The nurses and other staff made his stay comfortable for him and his bedroom feels a bit more like home. It was nice having the bird feeding tray outside the window too. Only issue was with the plugs/sockets in the room which needed fixing that took some time to resolve.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. We are proud to have such a compassionate team and we're glad this has shone though in your experience. We're also happy to hear that you've enjoyed our activities program- our team works hard to make sure there's something for everyone to...
My husband was in The Priory Nursing Care Home from November 2023 until May 2025. He had Parkinsons and dementia, was bed ridden from the start and needed a lot of care. He also had a peg stomach tube, as swallowing was a problem. He was always looked after with great care and utmost respect. All the nursing staff and carers were amazing and were always there for the family too, when we were upset. I would recommend this home to all I know and meet.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time. It is always encouraging to hear what an impact our caring staff have on our residents and their families. Thank you for choosing The Priory Care Home for your stay.
My Mum has been at the Priory since the beginning of March 2025. She was discharged from hospital under an end of life care package and I cannot thank the staff enough at the Priory for all they have done for my Mum. Thankfully Mum's health has improved and I believe that is due to the expert nursing care and attention that she has received since arriving at the care home. Thank you so much to Cheryl the manager for her support and assistance. Her team are a credit to her and without them I don't think my Mum would have improved in the way she has under their care.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mum in our care. It is clear to see what an impact the staff have had on you and your loved one. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
The nursing/care staff looked after her well and she was happy to be a resident.
However when I needed to deal with management (manager) it was extremely hard and disappointing. The bills were huge, so I feel the manager needs to be available and efficient when queries are raised.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time and we are saddened to hear about your loss. It is lovely to hear that your Mum was looked after and cared for well. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service.
My mother was admitted in December 2020 during Covid. It was quite difficult at first due to the restrictions, but the staff were very friendly and patient with her throughout. During her stay (nearly 5 years) every member of staff who very pleasant and kind, and she really enjoyed her trip there before dementia robbed her of her ability to fully participate in all the activities on offer. As she began to decline, both mentally and physically, she was always treated with dignity and kindness, and as a family we were all very happy with her care right up to the end.
Thank you for your kind review. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time and we are very happy to hear you felt at ease with your Mother in our care. It is always lovely to hear words like "Kind" and "Pleasant" being used to describe our staff. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
Over that time I have seen a turnover of staff and managers
From my perspective I feel the home is running better than in any previous years
Weekend activities is a big plus and the staff seem to have a better focus on their job.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their Mother is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make Mother's stay as comfortable as possible.
Transition from hospital to The Priory was seamless. Her room was ready, although it hadn't been redecorated from the previous occupant. There were initial issues with the comfort of the bed, but these were addressed immediately. All staff are professional, courteous and friendly. Activities are available, but as yet my sister-in-law hasn't participated very much. She will take time to settle. I would recommend the care home.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. It is always nice to hear words like "Professional" and "Courteous" being used to describe our Staff. We hope to continue providing your Sister-in-law with the best possible care.
I see other reviews complaining about the size of bathrooms and the food and whilst I acknowledge they may have a point I would like to add that given the number of people being catered for and the choice I think what is offered is amazing. The en-suite space isn't large but there is always help to go to the bathroom or to a larger bathroom, the staff work to overcome the restrictions placed on them by the layout and it is better there is more room in the room and, frankly, that the price isn't too large. Larger spaces will ask for larger amounts of money and, from my experience, The Priory offers truly excellent value for money.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Priory.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Mother in our care. We hope to continue providing your Mother with the best possible care. It is great to hear you would recommend The Priory Care Home.
On our introductory visit, we were impressed with the care home. We believed that my sister would settle down and thrive there. We had visited another care home to compare and contrast, but decided that The Priory Care Home would suit my sister's needs better. I am pleased to report that she has settled in well and is beginning to participate in the various activities that are on offer. She likes the staff, who are very professional in their approach. Also, the staff are very friendly and approachable.
Thank you for your lovely words. We are so pleased to hear that your Sister has settled in well and that she is being looked after and cared for well. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Friendly" and "Approachable" being used to describe our staff and we hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
The care home staff really work hard for the benefit of the residents. Theres always a varriaty of activities going on. The staff a very supportive to relatives / visitors of the residents, it's a really friendly atmosphere.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear words like "Supportive" being used to describe our Staff. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
My dad is extremely well looked after by every member of the team. Staff have taken time to get to know my dad and therefore understand him and his needs. I honestly have only good things to say, I am so happy we chose here for dad.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Dad in our care. We hope to continue providing your Dad with the best possible care.

Meet the Team (2)

We are all like a large family here at The Priory. My passion is leading the team to perform exceptionally in infection control procedures as I am the infection control champion for the home. I am also an engagement champion which involves me linking with other local homes to share best practice ideas and cascade to the team here. I thoroughly enjoy my role and look forward to many years to come. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to Reggae and I love a nice cold rum and coke.

I first started at The Priory as a Care Assistant. In 2019 I stepped into the role of activity co-ordinator. I love my role and providing a variety of stimulating activities for the residents. We particularly love doing themed days such as beach days, bastille day and various charity events involving the community. In my spare time I love holidays and dancing as I am part of a local dance organisation.
