- Worsened memory problems. Not always recognising own family members and friends. Repeating the same questions over and over again
- Worsened language and communication issues, forgetting what they are saying mid-sentence. Not being able to understand what someone else is saying
- More frequent confusion, e.g. about the time of day or where they are, including their own home
- Apathy, depression and anxiety
- Believing things that aren't true (paranoia)
- Frequent hallucinations
- Lack of emotional control, quick to anger, fearfulness, sadness
- Loss of inhibition

Advanced Dementia
Someone living with our definition of "severe dementia" might experience some or all of the following:
- Severe memory problems. Not recognising family members and friends. Not being able to recall their own name
- Severe language and communication issues, not being able to understand what someone else is saying
- Severe confusion, e.g. about the time of day or where they are, including their own home
- Apathy, depression and anxiety
- Believing things that aren't true (paranoia)
- Frequent hallucinations
- Lack of emotional control, quick to anger, fearfulness, sadness
- Loss of inhibition

Verbally or physically aggressive behaviour

I am very pleased with the care given to my mother, who has dementia, at Lavender Court and has been a resident there for two years now. The staff are always friendly and helpful and always keep me informed of my mother's health and needs. This is the fourth care home that my mother has lived in and by far the best, for her.

Since being at Lavender Court, Dad’s been happy and very contented. He talks about being well looked after and has never complained. As a family, we’re also pleased with his progress. There appears to be a good level of service and supervision by the staff. They keep us informed. The main drawback is not being able to visit him, but this is due to the Covid-19 restrictions, which we hope will change soon. We can’t comment on the facilities, activities or the rooms, as we’ve not been able to see them at present.

The care given to my mother is excellent, a big thank you to all the staff.
I'm very happy for my mother to be at Lavender Court as l know that she is very well looked after. The staff communication is very good, they keep me up to date with what is going on in regards to my mother's care needs.

My mom came to live here in January 2020, she has dementia and could no longer manage without full-time care. I feel my mom is getting very good care here. The facilities are good and the place is very clean, her room is a good size and is on the ground floor with a toilet.

My mom came to live here in January 2020, she has dementia and could no longer manage without full-time care. I feel my mom is getting very good care here. The facilities are good and the place is very clean, her room is a good size and is on the ground floor with a toilet.
My mom always looks lovely and clean and the staff always ring us when anything concerning her happens, such as a doctors visit or a change in medication. This is a very good care home and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a place for a loved one.

My mom has vascular Dementia. Mom has been a resident of Lavender Court Nursing and Care Home for 2 years. I can’t thank the staff enough for all the support and care they have given my mom and myself. The manager and staff are welcoming and always helpful. The meals are always well presented and nutritional. They have fun days for residents and family ie Easter bonnets, Christmas parties, Halloween and many more. I would highly recommend.

My overall impression of the home is the staff attitude toward residents which is 1st class. The management team are most helpful and the whole team have a very apparent good relationship with each other which helps the overall running of the home. Friendly and helpful, also welcoming.

It has been 16 months since I last offered my views of Lavender Court, my father has resided there since November 2017.
We have seen many positive changes it has been completely transformed into a pleasant and comfortable environment, the outside kerb appeal has also been improved considerably....
It has been 16 months since I last offered my views of Lavender Court, my father has resided there since November 2017.
We have seen many positive changes it has been completely transformed into a pleasant and comfortable environment, the outside kerb appeal has also been improved considerably.
The home retains its staff which is most reassuring and a regular review of my fathers Care Plan with me has been implemented this year. The staff are lovely and always very welcoming, they approach my father with dignity and respect.
I must say, my father is always very smart and his personal care is of a high standard. His room is spotlessly clean and so is the rest of the home.
The food that my father is offered is varied, oral fluid intake is visibly a high priority.
The Family Meetings have been a pleasant opportunity to meet other relatives and friends along with the regular social gatherings.

Lavender Court is an excellent choice for our loved one. The manager and care staff/nurses, etc. are professional, caring and respectful at all times. The manager takes time out to explain and discuss our loved one's needs.

My mother has been in care homes for the past three years and Lavender Court is by far the best care she has received. The home is clean and pleasant, the staff are always kind and considerate. Mom is always spotlessly clean and comfortable.
