My mother has been at Grosvenor House for three years now and is very settled and comfortable. The care she has received and continues to receive is exceptional and the carers working there are very attentive to her needs. Whilst we would absolutely prefer our mom to be well and at home, this is not
possible, so it is very reassuring to know she is 'happy' and extremely cared for.

As my Mum's (93 years old) health significantly declined over the last few years we were really struggling to look after her at home, but I was very reluctant to put her into a Care Home. It was an extremely difficult decision. We were almost at breaking point before we decided to try Grosvenor House.
I had looked round most of the local homes but felt comfortable with the offering at Grosvenor House. I made the right decision. The rooms and facilities are lovely; but more importantly, the team that work there are very kind, caring and supportive to both Mum and my family! The Manager is very well organised, efficient and supportive. Mum adores the Entertainments Coordinator; who is always making her laugh out loud; something that hasn't happened for a long time. Mum loves the food. Even though she's now on a puréed diet, the Chef and his team prepare it with loving care, and it’s always beautifully presented. Last but not least the nursing team are fantastic too.

Dad was transferred from the hospital after having a stroke. Due to COVID-19, we didn't have a choice of the care home. We could not have asked for a better care home. Dad smiled so much, he loved the staff. He was happy, comfortable and not in pain. He loved it here and we loved coming here to see
him. xx

My mother was in Grosvenor House nursing home for just a short time, one month before passing away. I would 100% recommend this home to relatives or friends. A lovely nurse spent time with my mother and found out some very useful details of my mom's final wishes. She was well cared for, and Mom was
not alone in her final time/days.

Grosvenor House is a beautifully maintained care home, clean, bright and welcoming, and the staff went above and beyond the call of duty to care for my father during the final two months of his life. They always kept his spirits up and addressed his needs, as well as helping the rest of the family come
to terms with his imminent passing. That they managed to maintain an exceptional level of care during the first weeks of the COVID-19 outbreak is outstanding and a testament to their commitment and dedication to their jobs and those in their charge. I was constantly surprised and impressed by the way they handled the crisis and their residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending Grosvenor House to anyone who might be looking for care for a family member or loved one. The staff are truly a credit to their profession.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Grosvenor house for years. In that time, she has presented some challenges and some fun moments. She has required complete physical care as well as emotional and mental health care. Throughout all of the staff have treated her with compassion and competence. They
have shown her friendliness and engaged with her even when this may not have been easy. I cannot thank them enough for ensuring her comfort and safety.

This is a well-run care home, with friendly and helpful staff. The house and gardens provide a good environment, with suitable spaces and rooms for residents and visitors. There are good activities, especially the animals, reminiscence sessions, and activities tailored to the current season. There are
some trips out, but would be better if more were organised in the spring and summer. Overall, a very good nursing home.

Grosvenor House is a beautiful building and a very special place to live. The staff are very warm and welcoming and there is nothing they won't do to help residents live their lives to the full. My dad has recently moved there and has settled in very quickly. We are very happy in every way, from the
excellent food, his warm and comfortable room, the management team making everything run smoothly and knowing his needs are more than met every day, with dignity and pride.

When my wife was admitted to the home, she was initially very apprehensive. It soon disappeared when she found out that from the management to the general staff, she was cared for in a loving way. She described it like living at home with a large family.
The home was spotless. Although my wife is NBM,
comments from other residents suggest that the food is wonderful.

My lovely mom moved into Grosvenor House at the end of June after 6 months of trauma and instability in the care system. From day one, the Management, Nurses and Carers at Grosvenor House have been wonderful in looking after mom, ensuring that she receives the best quality care. All of the staff are
welcoming to all visitors and have displayed kindness and compassion in dealing with mom's advanced dementia and she has settled in well. In my profession, I have visited many care homes, and I have to say, Grosvenor House is one of the best that I have seen. This has been a very difficult time for all our family and we have only managed to come to terms with mom's situation, because of the wonderful environment where she now lives.

I could not have asked for better care for my nan. She has been treated wonderfully as have we her relatives. The staff are amazing very compassionate and respectful. It feels like one big family. The home itself is incredible. Everyone that visits comments on how beautiful it is. Very clean smells
lovely and beautiful grounds. Nans room was everything we wished for before walking through the door. Nan herself has said she couldn't have asked for better.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.999)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.999) out of 10 for Grosvenor House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 117 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 117 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.999 for Grosvenor House is calculated as follows: ( (1399 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 1401 Ratings = 4.999
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grosvenor House is based on 117 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 registered maximum number of service users is 6.2, which has been reached with 117 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
