Hammerwich Hall Care Home

My Mother has been a resident for over twelve months having transferred following an illness. She is very content, and all her stress and worry has disappeared. The staff in the home are very kind and friendly and work extremely hard to provide a very high standard of care for her.

The staff always seem very caring to the residents. However, the home constantly appears to be understaffed. The food quality has dropped considerably in the three years my aunt has been there. I think this is something that should be looked at with urgency. Old people don’t eat a lot of food but what they have should be of a decent quality.

The rooms are lovely and residents are allowed to make it their own adding some of their own personal belongings. We are very happy that we chose the home.

When we take them out, they get tired, and say they want to go 'home,' and it's reassuring they look at Hammerwich Hall as home.

I am very grateful to all the staff members for looking after my relative so well over the last 14 years.

They go above and beyond as well, not just for Mom but for the other residents too. It’s always very clean and has that cosy at-home feeling about it too.

My father was a resident at Hammerwich Hall for the last 4 months of 2022. He was originally a resident for respite care but his condition slowly deteriorated so it became Dad’s home. All the staff made Dad and us welcome and nothing was too much trouble and he soon settled in. Dad sadly passed away just before Christmas - during this awful time, Dad and the rest of the family were treated with kindness and compassion and nothing was too much trouble.

My relative has been at Hammerwich for many years now and has been so well looked after. He is very happy there, and the staff attend to all his needs. He has unfortunately had a few hospital stays lately, but Hammerwich always welcomes him back to where he feels safe and secure. The meals he gets are far superior to the ones he used to cook himself, so he is usually one of the first to the dining hall!

Having a parent go into a care home is one of the most difficult things you have to face. The staff at Hammerwich Hall Care Home are the most wonderful caring people, and I know my mother is in good hands. She is very happy and comfortable, and I know I can visit at any time (with just a quick call to book in during covid restrictions). The home itself is beautifully maintained, with lovely gardens. The residents are encouraged to take part in many activities, including Gardening Club, however; it’s not a problem if they prefer to stay in their rooms. They are treated with the care and dignity they all deserve. I would certainly highly recommend Hammerwich Hall to anyone faced with deciding on care for an elderly parent.

It would be ideal for all rooms to be ensuite, but I appreciate the difficulty (and cost!) of upgrading an old building.

A really lovely care home with excellent management. The activities, care and attention that is given to residents is testament to all of the staff. When visiting it’s always a happy environment. I am very pleased that it’s my mum's home.

My brother is happy and well cared for at Hammerwich. I like the vibrancy and friendliness of all the staff. Excellent.

The carers are very professional, caring and welcoming. They go above and beyond to make the residents feel at home. It's a comfort knowing that loved ones are in excellent care all year round.

Festivals and birthdays are always celebrated, and a lot of hard work goes into making these occasions special for everyone.

My mother was taken into Hammerwich Hall Care Home for respite, as carers were unavailable for her to go home. I have to say I couldn't be happier with the care she has received in the time she has been there. I think we were extremely fortunate that she was placed at Hammerwich.

I have been visiting my friend for 2 and a half years at Hammerwich Hall. I have found that on the whole, it is a good home. Most staff are friendly and accommodating. The home is clean and welcoming. My friend is happy there and tells me the food is good. Her room is lovely with her own personal belongings. I rate this home as very good.

I visited a family member today, given the current restrictions it is so pleasing to know that they are being cared for in such a pleasing environment. I am on first name terms with the staff who are caring and compassionate to all the residents. You are always kept informed regarding all aspects of care, truly five-star. A special birthday will be coming up in June and I know that it will be truly memorable.

My dad settled extremely well into Hammerwich and I am extremely happy with the care he receives. The building and grounds are beautiful, all of the staff are really lovely and caring, not to mention extremely hard working. I think the pandemic has put lots of strain on the staff, and they have been faced with extra roles on top of an already busy job role, however, they always give their all and do the best they possibly can.
