Hammerwich Hall Care Home

My mother has recently celebrated her 100th birthday. The staff at Hammerwich Hall worked extremely hard to make the day special, decorating the dining room and the "visiting tent", providing two beautiful birthday cakes and afternoon tea for us when I visited. The evening meal was also to be a celebration. Sadly I wasn't able to go inside due to COVID-19 restriction but I can't speak highly enough of the efforts put into making her day special.

My mother has recently moved to Hammerwich Hall. I was immediately impressed with the lovely atmosphere created by genuinely caring staff. This is a professionally managed home that puts the core of residents and promptly. The food is fresh and varied menu. The only downside is no en-suite bathroom.

Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff for looking after our father for the past six months. He has improved in health and confidence since moving into Hammerwich Hall, which is such a beautiful and grand home with every detail provided to make it a home from home - with a bit extra, to make you feel like a guest rather than a resident. Unfortunately, due to our father's medical needs, he is now moving on to a nursing home, however, we can recommend Hammerwich Hall for any family member. If you want a true care experience, this is definitely the place to choose. Thank you so much for looking after him over the past months, we can't thank you enough. Brilliant staff, management and residents. Oh, the catering staff need a mention also and the food is amazing.

My wife has been really well looked after. The staff have been supporting her for 6 years now, that tells a story in itself. The meals are excellent and from top to bottom you could not get better care.

We needed to find somewhere for my Mother in Law at extremely short notice. The staff at Hammerwich Hall were appropriate, sensitive and helpful. They arranged an assessment quickly and welcomed her to respite care as soon as they could. My Mother in Law improved quickly and was only complimentary about all the staff who really seemed to care about her wellbeing.

My father came into respite for a week. Everyone was really helpful. My father was unsure about going in for respite, but when he came home he said everyone had been lovely and he was talking about it for weeks after.

Well, mom came to Hammerwich Hall for respite in May for a week while we went on holiday and didn't want to leave! I think mom soon realised how lonely she had been on her own at home but now she is enjoying the company of other friends (as she now calls them!) Mom constantly tells me how wonderful the staff all are and "nothing's too much trouble." Also, she feels safer. Needless to say - If mom's happy we are too!

Some days she has moments of memory loss, even so, she feels safe and well looked after. We enjoy visiting her and the staff keep us updated with her care needs.

I would like to say we are well fed and the accommodation is clean and tidy. The staff could not be more pleasant and are most helpful.

Very good care, food. Everybody has been good to me. I can't fault it, ladies are lovely.

Hammerwich Hall is a lovely residential home and my father has been made most comfortable in a very nice modern room. The manager and her staff are most helpful and friendly and cannot do enough for my father or his visitors. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hammerwich Hall to anyone.

Ever since that moment, we have found everything about this home, magical, warm and nothing is too much trouble in the care of our mother and everyone else there. It is superb and are welcoming.

I was very satisfied with my care after my gall bladder removal at hosptial. I went straight to Hammerwich Hall and was treated with care and consideration during my two-week stay at the home. The food and care was very good - nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The care was the same no matter what time of day or night.

It's a lovely friendly, welcoming place to visit. The management of it all is excellent. If I ever have to end up in a home, this is where I would want to be.

Two years ago, following the death of her husband, increasing frailty in her own health, and her family residing overseas, my friend had to move to residential care. Her son in law and I visited many care homes prior to our decision that Hammerwich Hall was the most suitable choice to care for her needs. Set in peaceful surroundings, the home is welcoming, clean and bright. Staff offer outstanding care, respect, patience and compassion to their residents. The transition from independent living to residential care is not necessarily one smoothly achieved, yet the staff have done everything within their power to make this as pain-free as possible. The home offers a variety of well organized social activities and outings and whilst residents are encouraged to engage in these, their right to 'opt out' is also respected. Residents are encouraged to personalize their bedrooms into their 'home from home'. The staff are welcoming to visitors and the management team is always accessible.

Since our Father/Grandfather has moved into Hammerwich Hall, he has received fantastic care. The staff are attentive and show a real understanding of his needs and requirements. He entered with mid-stage dementia which has, over the last few months progressed but they have always shown a great understanding of the condition and have always been patient even when he has the really bad days. He is monitored regularly and the home has even invested in new monitoring equipment throughout the whole home as well as a pressure mat just for him as he is no longer capable of alerting the staff using the usual triggers. On his worst days, we have entered his room to find some of the carers sitting with him helping him to eat, just chatting to him or holding his hand to comfort him. Finally, the residents themselves are lovely people that make everyone including the relatives feel welcome into the home. We feel this is more than just a care home it's like a home from home.

In looking for a care home for my mother-in-law I visited six care homes in the area and found that Hammerwich Hall run now by Advinia was far the better home for my mother-in-law. In cleanliness and staff, smartness and professionalism. The variety of food was the best for choice. The dignity the staff and management provide is far above and beyond their duty, nothing is too much trouble. We were anxious at the initial entry into the home but we had no need to worry, my mother-in-law is most happy at Hammerwich Hall which makes us as a family at ease.

Mum moved into Hammerwich last summer after an accident that sadly meant she was unable to return home to live independently. It has been a very emotional time for her but the staff have all been very supportive and extremely caring in helping her to settle in. It is an extremely clean, bright, homely place where we, as her family, are always made to feel welcome by all members of staff. She is treated with dignity and is encouraged to join in activities by the staff and the activities coordinator, who is doing a great job.
