I have been well looked after in a very relaxing environment. The food is excellent and the activities are well tailored. The staff are professional and caring. I shall be sad to leave and would like to come again for a holiday.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us and hopefully, you will come again for a stay with us.
I was very impressed with the thoroughness and detailed knowledge of dad's condition and needs.
All the carers that I've met treat Dad with kindness and respect, in spite of the fact that he can be a tricky customer.
Everyone seems to go beyond the remit of caring for him - including taking the time and trouble to engage with him in his particular interests and preferences.
Thank you for your review. This must give you such peace of mind knowing that he is so well cared for.
This is a lovely place for her to be and she tells me that she feels safe, very well looked after and has plenty of things to be involved with.
The staff all seem to me to be excellent including the management.
The village post office and general store closed recently which is a shame but that's not Bupa's fault.
Thank you for your review. I'm glad that your mum is happy and feels safe and well cared for in our care. It is good to know that she is liking the activities also.
From the moment I stepped through the door I knew Mom would love it. She only went for a week's respite but loved it so much she is now going to be a permanent resident. She is like a "new person" and so happy.
Thank you for your review. We are so glad to hear that your Mum enjoyed her stay so much with us that she has decided to stay permanently with us I'm sure she will be very happy and will make lots of new friends.
It was a lovely afternoon and meant a lot to the family.

Excellent staff and care. My aunt has been in for 3 weeks respite and she is so much better physically and mentally. Thank you, everyone, at Hammerwich Hall.

My sister has been a resident for just over a month now and says she is very comfortable and happy, something I never expected because she is very discerning, to say the least. There are no unpleasant smells when you enter and everywhere is spotlessly clean and the staff are very thoughtful and genuinely care for the residents. My sister so far enjoys most of the meals from the daily multi-choice menu and it is a pleasure to see the dining room always neatly laid out with table cloths and fresh serviettes. The three lounges are very pleasant and there is a nice feel of homeliness about the place. She enjoys the many daily activities that are provided like art and crafts, bingo, play your cards right, seed planting, flower arranging etc. Each month a visit by a musical artist is made with a light buffet to follow and I must say that the two that we have attended have been excellent. Music and song is a good way in getting the residents to participate in some way despite their disabilities.

As attorney for my relative who suffered a significant stroke requiring care for the remainder of his life and living 100 miles away, and on his own, it created a significant problem. Hammerwich Hall Nursing and Care Home was the chosen residential care in 2008. I, my wife, and my late sister were delighted with the home. The management and staff and the occupational therapy were of the first quality and included external visits to places of interest for the residents who were capable.
Times changed such that managers came and went, external visits significantly diminished, the change from nursing and care home to care home was concerning together with the loss of qualified nurses for a relative following a severe stroke.I am pleased to say that the current management staff and their carers, together with the organisation introduced and their thoughts and inclusion for the relatives gives confidence for the future of the residents.

Mother has been a resident for two and a half years and has been cared for in a kind and professional way, the staff have been very helpful and understanding. I believe she is as happy as she can be at present and could not be in a better place to live out her life.

My mother has been here for 10 and a half years. The care she has received is amazing. Such care, attention, and love is always here. She is now 100 and is bedridden. The carers check on her every 30 mins.

My father recently moved into Hammerwich Hall and unfortunately became unwell. The care staff were excellent and prompt in arranging a GP review and had obviously listened to my concerns and had handed over to each other my father's problems. I was confident they were handling the situation safely and extremely competently.

Mum came to Hammerwich Hall Care Home whilst recovering from a broken shoulder, the care she has received has been excellent. Her room very comfortable and her food very good, always catering for mum's needs. I would have no hesitation in using Hammerwich Hall Care Home for mum's care if required recommending the home to others.

The food was of a very high standard. The building and gardens were very pleasant.

The majority of the staff are extremely helpful and make my mom feel happy. The staff sometimes seem very busy and understaffed. Some of the rooms need to be updated and the toilets need improving. Also, I don't understand why it sometimes takes most of the day to empty my mom's commode.
Thank you for your review. Your comments are extremely important to us and our residents’ health and wellbeing is our absolute priority. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
My father was very reluctant to move into a nursing home but his worries soon disappeared. He fully appreciated the excellent care that he receives nothing appears too much trouble. All the staff are friendly and caring but professional too. When he has felt unwell, medical advice has been sought and a doctor's visit arranged. The meals are varied and good quality. Although he may not feel hungry, once he is presented with the meal, he always enjoys it. It is also good that light bites are on offer outside mealtimes. Overall a friendly and homely nursing home that cares for its occupants.

I found the staff extremely helpful in every way, without exception. The manageress has taught her staff to reflect her help and concern in all aspects of the homes activities. My wife has enjoyed her rest at the home and will return in the near future.

All staff and carers very helpful and friendly, ready to help at all times. Maintenance for home and gardens very good but I do think the rooms could do with a bit of colour to brighten them up, otherwise excellent.

Meet the Team (3)

Hammerwich Hall holds a very special place in my heart. I previously worked here for seven years as a Senior Carer on nights, leaving almost two years ago.
I’ve since returned home as a Team Manager, a role I have held for the past six months, and I’m now honoured to have been given my dream job as Home Manager at Hammerwich Hall. In this role, I lead on delivering high-quality care, working alongside compassionate colleagues who genuinely care from the heart.
For me, working at Hammerwich Hall is about more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to make a positive difference, enhancing the well-being and quality of life of everyone in our home.

I have worked for the company for over 15 years and love it. I began as an Activity Coordinator and then progressed to Receptionist, and then became Administrator.
I moved to Hammerwich Hall in 2024, and it is like a big Family, and I really love working with all the Staff, Residents and Relatives.

I have been working in the Health and Social Care Sector since 2004.
As a wellbeing coordinator, I enjoy being creative and bringing joy into people's day.I like to take time to understand people and choose activities that will provide the greatest amount of benefit, fulfillment, and happiness.
Working at Hammerwich Hall, I feel that I have the opportunity to positively impact and improve people's well-being and the quality of their experience at the Home.
