Good. Possible Improvements
1) Low speed cooler washing machine for delicate summer cotton clothes.
2) Provide permanent laundry marker on residents arrival.
3) Have a better idea of when a resident is leaving for home after a SWFT stay - eg: morning 8-1pm, lunchtime 11-2pm, afternoon 1-5pm, evening 5-9pm.

So that someone waiting at their home to be in to receive them can be free beforehand/afterwards to go shopping rather than spending all day in.

As a family, we are very satisfied with the way in which my father has settled into Kenilworth Grange. The variety of activities is very good, as is the quantity of food & drink provided for him. We feel that the staff care about my father and try to encourage him to live a happy life. We are confident that he is safe in the home. Thank you to all staff for your ongoing support & care of my father & all other residents

My mum is now a resident at Kenilworth Grange. I am very pleased with how mum is being cared for, observing on many occasions care and attention being given to mum and other residents, all with varying needs. One comment sticks in my mind recently, "low lovely the food is", mum had lost a lot of weight before moving to KG, she is now a healthy weight that is being maintained with good nutritional and tasty food. KG has a great activity programme with regular outings to town weekly, also days out, the latest being a trip to Stratford on Avon. Mum loves to attend the hair salon at KG each week. The senior team always follow up on any queries or concerns we have as a family regarding mum's care. Mum is very happy at KG.

Very good care home! Extremely well managed by Manager/Assistant Manager, the general staff do an amazing job. The nursing staff are most efficient: the carers, who are the most important people as far as the residents are concerned, do a truly amazing job, and the cleaning staff not only do their work, but regularly answer queries and give friendly, helpful advice. All in all, a care home where a 'good atmosphere' has been created!

Overall Experience

My wife moved into KG under NHS care for 6 weeks and then a further 4 weeks self funding. Most of the staff were friendly and pleased to help her whilst the odd one or two were rude and unhelpful at times. Some staff would enter her room and not ask "do you want anything?", and some would not even say "hello". Carers did not understand her illness and that she required time to answer questions and, in addition, was hard of hearing and had slurred speech - this required carers with patience, which was not always forthcoming. My wife had a catheter and frequently the night urine bag was left near her bed, or in the bathroom, until the afternoon. It was disappointing that some of the weekly activities did not take place. There seemed to be a shortage of staff, especially at weekends.

We're very pleased to leave a glowing review for Kenilworth Grange. Dad has been a resident there now for a few months and has settled in really well. It's s super-caring and friendly place, and all the staff and carers do a fantastic job. He recently had an in-patient hospital appointment, and before he went his carer gave him a big hug, and on his return in the evening several people were waiting to ask how it went, and they'd kept some food for him as he missed evening meal. That's just an example of how friendly they all are. The day-to-day running is very smooth and professional as well as caring. Dad really does feel like he's in _his_ home, not just _a_ home.

My mum stayed here for a month in respite care following a fall and some time in hospital. The staff were wonderful - friendly, caring and attentive. The food and cleanliness were excellent and activities were plentiful. She was made welcome to join in everything from singing, dominoes, and church services to arts and crafts. Boris the house cat also made a wonderful addition! I know she'll be welcome to visit her friends she made there again. Thank you all

Nobathakathi MotelleJob Title:Home Manager

I joined the team at Kenilworth Grange in October 2011. I’m a Registered Nurse, and I’ve continued my nursing education to achieve a master’s degree in nursing, as well as midwife and social and health care qualifications.

To do this role well, you need to be analytical and a team player. It’s important to be an effective communicator and a role model who can lead the team. You also need up-to-date clinical skills and the ability to manage the home.

I have a good rapport with my colleagues and enjoy managing the home as a unit. My favourite part of the day is ensuring the team's skill mix is just right. Contributing to health and safety training has been a highlight of my career, and I take great pride in empowering colleagues through clinical competencies.
