The care my partner received during his stay was great. He was treated with dignity, a gentle humour and kindness. When he passed away, we were all given care, undivided attention and sympathy. A deep sadness was made easier by having such a wonderful staff care for both my partner, myself and my family.

My Dad stayed at Orton Manor for about seven weeks after a long stay in hospital.
From the moment my Dad arrived he was cared for in the best way possible.
The care, respect and dignity given was over and above what we expected .
Every member of our family, friends and neighbours who visited Dad during his stay were also cared for.
I cannot put into words how grateful we as a family are to the whole team of people who work here, every single one of them truly care.
Dad sadly passed away at the beginning of December, peacefully and with the best care and dignity, with his family around him and no care home could have done any more for our Dad or our family.

We have no hesitation in recommending Orton Manor to anyone who wants the best care for their loved one , look no further chose Orton Manor

My mother recently passed away having spent more than 2 years at Orton Manor. My first impressions of the home when my wife and I visited prior to my mothers admission was of a home that appeared in need of some TLC. Do not be put off by this. I can say that throughout my mothers stay the staff were wonderful. All any of us really want when a relative goes into care is to know that they are being well cared for. Whilst at Orton Manor my mother received first class professional care from all of the nurses and care staff. The words I would chose to describe the staff are kind and friendly. We were always made welcome and continually kept informed of any concerns around my mothers health. My mother was happy there and as a family we have no regrets that we chose Orton Manor.

My husband spent a week in respite care. He was well looked after by cheerful, caring staff. I was slightly disappointed that he spent most of his days in the lounge with no company other than staff - most people stayed in their bedrooms.

Reply from Iram Painter, Regional Manager at Orton Manor Nursing Home

Thank you for taking time to submit a review. I believe your husband stayed with us during a particularly hot week. Many residents chose to stay in their bedrooms with fans directly on them due to the hot weather and also several of our residents are cared for in bed due to their care needs. Staff...

My husband has been here a month now and I am totally satisfied with the care staff and everything I have witnessed. My husband has settled well and is being cared for so well. I was very worried after 55 years together, that it would be a difficult time for us, but the staff have been fantastic, and really looked after him. Thank you.

My sister has been a resident/patient at Orton Manor Nursing Home since September 2024. My first impression when I first visited was that the surroundings were drab and dreary and I wondered what care she would receive after the terrible experiences encountered at a certain Hospital, where she was a patient for some 9 weeks. My concerns however were unfounded as the staff at the care home are amazing. They are professional, kind, caring and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and for that, I am truly grateful.

Despite all our concerns for our loved ones health and well being when he had to move care homes, the staff have made him feel so welcome and went over and above what was necessary to ensure that he settled, in well and felt at home with all his belongings around him when he moved in.

He has settled in very well and is very happy with the home and the level of care that he receives. He rates the food as better than before, despite previously living at a much more exclusive residential home. The staff have made all the difference and we really can't fault them.

I have only experienced the home whilst visiting my sister-in-law during the last week of November. I found the staff to be courteous, helpful and attentive. In the few hours I was there in the afternoons I found the staff were very attentive to my sister in laws needs regarding medicinal requirements I also believe that she finds the food offered to be of good quality. I found the security at the home to be excellent, needing the staff to admit you into the home and also to let you leave the premises including leaving your details in the visitor register.

My husband has been made to feel very welcome by all the staff. They are kind, caring and take into account the difficulties my husband has. He always looks clean and tidy and comfortable. It has taken my Husband a while to settle in with the staff's help, he is getting there. His room is always clean, tidy and warm. They also talk to him, not at him. They let him know what they are going to do to reassure him.

The staff has also made me feel very welcome and if I have a query, I know I can ask without being made to feel a nuisance. I know that I can come home leaving my Husband at Orton Manor knowing he is safe and being well cared for.

My mom was admitted to Orton Manor in July 2021 and was a resident there until her sad passing in January 2024. The care and attention that the staff gave not only to my mother but also to ourselves, particularly in the final moments prior to Mom's passing, was exemplary. It is true to say that not only are we grieving, but the staff are also. We can only thank the staff with all our hearts for the care and affection that they have shown. This has made our memories of Mom's illness that she has been going through for the last two years and her final moments less painful, for which we are eternally grateful.

My experience of the nursing home has been a positive one. They have been caring, kind and professional. Our relative has always looked happy, clean and comfortable. Her room was always clean and warm. Staff would pop in regularly and offer her a drink. Any queries were answered. She has just passed away, and the staff were wonderful to her in her final days and to the family, and the doctor made several visits too. A loving, caring community.

All the staff are very friendly, always go above and beyond and can’t thank them enough. They all love my husband and I know he is in great hands. The staff always call me whenever he wants a chat. It’s close to home so I can see him anytime I want to which is great.

My mum was in Orton Manor Nursing Home from November 2021until she sadly passed away in February 2022.
She originally went in for 2 weeks respite and loved it so much that she didn't want to go home.
The staff at Orton Manor were amazing and treated her so well, like a member of their own family.
Mum had had a care package at home for a few years but going into Orton Manor when she did was the best decision we could have made.
She had excellent care, was treated with love and understanding and got her dignity back.

Thank you to everyone at Orton Manor. I would recommend you to everyone.

Visited my Dad on Boxing Day 2021.
Met with three staff who were outstanding. Their friendly approach to me, including the attention to COVID-19 restrictions, gave me reassurance about my dad's care. His room was clean and he looks very cared for, especially considering his age.

I was offered coffee and the staff gave my father attention.

After both my parents found themselves requiring residential nursing care in 2020, I moved them both into Orton Manor and out from their first nursing home as I was extremely dissatisfied with their care there, but now I am very happy and extremely relieved to say they are finally both receiving the very best of care. All the staff in Orton Manor are truly caring, considerate and invest a part of themselves into the care they provide. I never worry about how my parents are being cared for because I can see they are both happy and feel a great deal of affection for the wonderful staff who do whatever they can to make sure they are comfortable and secure during these and the most difficult of times. In summary, I could not recommend this care home’s provision highly enough, and I am relieved that I finally found the standard of care my much-loved mom and dad deserve. Thank you, Orton Manor, for the peace of mind.

My mom had to be admitted as an emergency for two weeks respite.
I had never had to do this before and was extremely overwhelmed and anxious about the whole situation.
However, my mind was soon put at rest; she was very comfortable, clean and content.
The staff were all very nice, cheerful and helpful. In a short time, they got to know her and her needs.
I would like to thank everyone for their help and understanding. I hope I am not in the same situation again, but if I was, I would have no doubt in sending her to Orton Manor.

Thank you.
