Orton Manor Nursing Home

Both my Mom and now my Dad were/are in Orton Manor. The staff are always very welcoming and treat residents as friends. Nothing is too much trouble. It has been very hard during lockdown with not being able to visit but the staff have gone above and beyond to keep us updated and made video messages which have really helped put our minds at rest. I feel totally happy that my dad is being looked after and cared for whilst we can’t get to see him. They are really up to speed on his health conditions and spot them quickly when he isn’t well. My Dad tells me every time I speak to him I am really well looked after here you know. I can’t thank them enough for putting the residents first in what is a very challenging time for all the staff.

My mom went into the home 5 years ago in a very fragile state of mind and health but the care and attention she receives is second to none and she is now thriving. Before COVID I visited every day and no matter what time of day, everything was always the same with a constant feeling of being in a warm and caring environment. The staff, on the whole, seem to really care about the residents. Since COVID it has been hard not being able to visit but it is comforting to know she is being kept safe and looked after. I would highly recommend the home to anyone and very much appreciate the hard-working staff.

My mum has been a resident at Orton Manor for two and a half years now. She is 89-years-old, suffers with dementia and needs 24-hour-care. Since she has been at Orton Manor I have been immensely grateful for the compassion and care with which she has been treated. Physically she is well looked after in terms of food, drink, medication, help with showering and general hygiene matters but I also feel that she is treated with respect and dignity and that the staff make it a cheerful and welcoming place to be. Since the start of the pandemic they have been unable to allow the usual visits from family and friends but they have done their best to help me keep in touch with Mum via Facetime calls and generally keeping me up to date with the situation at the home. I feel that my mum is in a safe and caring place and I would not hesitate to recommend Orton Manor to others looking to find somewhere for loved ones in need of constant care.

The staff are extremely caring and efficient. I can find no fault and cannot think of a better care home to entrust the care of my much-loved mother.

Since covid19 and visits had to be suspended, the staff have done all they could to look after Mom and keep me informed about her. They have gone out of their way to prevent the virus from entering the home with great success, following all the guidelines. We are very grateful.

Since viewing and admission, staff and service have been excellent. Dignity maintained at all times. We've had no complaints, and any minor issues have been addressed expediently.

From my first ring of the doorbell at Orton Manor to the door opened by the team leader, I felt the warmth, friendliness, and energy. The home was very clean as was all the other residence I saw. The team leaders have an enthusiastic approach to her role is inspiring to the rest of her team. So I had no hesitation in placing my Mum at Orton Manor. To date, my Mum has lived at Orton Manor for over four years. During this time, the staff have cared for my mum admirably. They keep her safe, and their level of care and compassion is excellent. All staff demonstrate respect, have always treated my Mum with dignity even in difficult situations. My mum also is given choices. If she wants to stay in bed, she can, if she wants something to eat outside of mealtimes, she can. If she wants a take away; she can. I’ve always found the staff to be open, honest and transparent, and will inform me of any problems. Orton Manor is a care home with a difference because it’s small, friendly and very homely.

It was a real concern that my mom was to go to a care home, but all the staff there made my mom and myself feel very welcome. All her needs are attended to with patience and an understanding of her needs. All of the carers treat my mom with respect and love, and I have no worries with my mom being in their care.

It was very reassuring to know that the manager anticipated what was needed, and provided a wealth of information that made dealing with mums difficult condition as easy as possible. We cannot thank them enough.

A cosy comfortable home, every carer is kind and pleasant, the surroundings are always clean, my mother enjoys the food and always has a drink of tea (her preference) by her side.

I have visited smarter establishments but they had no soul, Orton Manor has oodles of soul.

I can not find any fault with this home.
