My Mother has been a resident of Rutland Manor for over three years.

She has complex needs which mean that while she is delightful most of the time there are times when she can be very challenging.

In my eyes she is always wonderful and it is an immense credit to her carers that they think so too and look after her in both a professional and very caring way at all times regardless of her mood and the challenges she can present.

Reply from Lee Langley, Home Manager at Rutland Manor Nursing Home

Were very grateful for your thoughtful review. Your mother is a wonderful lady, and its a privilege to care for her. Our team works hard to ensure she feels safe, understood, and supported, whatever her needs may be, and your feedback is a meaningful acknowledgement of that commitment.

From the day my dad arrived at this care home I can honestly say, the care that my dad has received has been outstanding. Every visit, my dad is smiling and happy and always participating in the activities, I would even go as far to say, that with my dad having dementia, he would of deteriorated, but it's the opposite, he seems so content and seems to have more of his faculties than he previously had shown at other homes.

I am just glad that we chose this home as this is now my dad's home and I can't thank the staff enough for their care, compassion, empathy and understanding.

I highly recommend this care home to anyone who is going through a difficult time trying to find a home from home for their loved one.

My husband became a resident at the end of February after being asked to leave the residential home he was in. He has complex dementia / Alzheimer's.
From the very start he has been treated with compassion and care. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff from manager to domestic staff are all very caring and approachable.
There are plenty of staff available at all times.
The food is very good. I've had lots of meals in the dining room with my husband. Also a cup of tea is always offered when visiting.

There is always something going off in the main lounge and they have a lovely garden too.

My brother had to move from a residential care home to Rutland Manor Nursing Home as his dementia deteriorated and he had complex behavioural needs. The first time I visited he told me,"Everything is nice here". The carers soon got used to his ways and with loving care enabled him to settle quickly. Everyone was kind and helpful to me whenever I visited and particularly in his short time on end of life care. I was present at his death and he and I were treated with great respect and affection.

My husband has Alzheimer' which is compounded by the fact he also suffers from Aphasia. I could no longer care for him at Home and other Homes were able to meet his needs. I despaired as his condition was deteriorating rapidly in the Care Home that he had been sent to - they offered no stimulation and left him alone for hours. The relief that I felt when Rutland Manor agreed to take my husband can not be put into words. In just a week my husband is far less agitated and is enjoying his food now that he is given the care and attention that he deserves. The team at Rutland Manor are caring, attentive and compassionate. My husband is now being treated as a human being and not as a commodity, the carers treat him with dignity and affection and they are doing all that they can to understand his needs and what he likes. I now have peace of mind, knowing that he is being properly looked after and that I can visit him at any time has made a world of difference. Full marks to Rutland Manor

Overall Experience
We recently moved my grandad to this care home after a very upsetting experience at another, where his basic care needs were evidently not being met.
The difference in the past month has been remarkable, he has gained weight and is clearly happy and thriving, as much as one can with advanced dementia.
The staff are phenomenal, their care is genuine and they are always happy despite constantly being on their feet. We are always offered a drink and top ups, a meal if we are there (food looks and smells incredible).

We couldn't be happier with the place, my grandad is living the rest of his days in comfort, with dignity and respect he deserves, amongst people that actually care about the difference they make. Thank you everyone at RM!

My mother became a resident at the Rutland nursing home in March 2024 and I was very apprehensive following poor care at a previous home. Within one week I was blown away by the level of care my mother received and this continued for another 18 months until my mother passed away. Throughout my mother's time in Rutland the management team and staff provided exemplary service, communication and care for my mother.

Very special thanks to all the team at Rutland. You should be very proud and I am so thankful.

Review from Tracy Jane E (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 21 May 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Rutland Manor has provided exceptional care for my mother-in-law over the past five years as she battled advanced dementia. Their dedication, compassion, and professionalism ensured she was always treated with dignity and respect, especially when it became impossible for our family to provide the level of support she needed.

During her final week, which I visited on three occasions, the staff's kindness was truly second to none. They attentively cared for her, prioritising her comfort and well-being in her final moments. Their respectful approach allowed her to pass away with dignity, making an incredibly difficult time a little more bearable for our family.

The staff also went above and beyond on the day of her funeral, which departed from the home. Their heartfelt gestures and unwavering support deeply moved our family. The manager and entire team showed immense respect, ensuring the occasion was handled with sensitivity. Their thoughtfulness was profoundly appreciated.

My dad moved into rutland manor in December 2024 as he was asked to leave his previous residential care home due to his complex dementia symptoms.
Since moving him he has really settled, he looks well, his skin is better, he is down ever day with the other residents socialising.
I can tell how much the staff care for each resident, it's so lovely to see and I feel happy in the knowledge that I placed him in a safe place and he is looked after in this stage of his life.

I can't thank them enough.

Our mum has been a resident here for the past two years. The care she receives is excellent and has continually been like this since she arrived.

The staff are always friendly and make us welcome on our visits. Mum is looked after well and enjoys the meals and personal care she receives on a daily basis.

The Management team have always found time to discuss mum and any questions that I need

to ask.

We couldn't have wished for a better home for her to be in - thanks to everyone.

My Dad has been a resident at Rutland Manor Nursing Home for over 2 years and after him being in a couple of care homes prior it is lovely to have him in such a caring environment, where the staff are all respectful, caring and helpful not only to Dads needs but to seeing Mum and family are fully involved where we can be. Must acknowledge the cooks too who make the most delicious meals and for inviting us to stay to have a meal with Dad. Thank you to everyone at Rutland for doing what you do so brilliantly.

My dad has been in Rutland Manor for a few months now. The care given is second to none. The residents are treated like family, and the staff are always smiling and talking to the residents and visitors. My dad has complex needs due to dementia, but they are so relaxed and friendly around him, which makes him visibly happy and calm.
There is always someone to talk to and update me about Dad when I call or visit.
As a family, we can’t thank them enough.
10/10 for love, care, cleanliness and professionalism.

From a very grateful daughter.
