A dedicated and experienced team is passionate about providing first-class 24-hour nursing care and residential care, alongside expert care for people with dementia in the Memory Lane Community. They also offer respite care for short breaks.

Located in Grantham, Newton House is a single storey purpose-built home with extensive garden areas planted with seasonal plants, fruit and vegetables. Centrally situated for friends and relatives to visit, at any time of the day, and they believe you will find they're ideally suited to meet your needs - both now and in the future.

I have been living here for 3 months on respite. I find all the staff which includes the cleaners and chefs, as well as the carers and nurses very respectful, very helpful and nothing, is too much trouble for any of them. I would certainly recommend this care home to my family and friends.

We are very happy with Newton House. You are all so helpful in all departments. She is happy here. You look after her so well and she has settled in so well. Her upkeep is lovely.

I moved from assisted living to Newton House 3 months ago and have settled into my new home. I am very happy here, all the staff are so kind, nothing is too much trouble, we have lovely pudding every day and always a choice of food. The activities team always entertain us with different activities.
I would definitely recommend Newton House.

My families experience of Newton House has been overall a very positive one. Whilst there have been some settling in issues and learning how the home works I am happy to say that interaction with both the caring teams and the administration team have always been positive and engaging and any issues
quickly dealt with. All the staff that I have come into contact with have been helpful and willing to be involved with residents and their families which in turn helps to create a good atmosphere within the home.

Mum moved into Newton House in September 2021. Really didn't want her to go into a home, but she's so happy and contented there.
She loves the staff, so kind and caring with her. She doesn't want to go home now, she's decided to make it her new home.d I can't praise the staff enough, so kind, caring

In 2020 my husband had a massive brain bleed which left him with vascular dementia. Finding a care home near to me was not a difficult choice. I had heard great things about Newton House and the staff from friends. This year on his birthday, he has now been a resident for over 12 months, the staff decorated
the family room with balloons and garlands and brought us a delicious cake with candles for him to blow out. They allowed our little dogs to join in the party. The staff went out of their way to make my husbands birthday special. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff. You are amazing.

Although the continuing covid regulations prevent me from giving a wider view of all of the facilities on offer, I am very pleased with the comfort and care my father receives. The staff have helped him through a very difficult time in his life. The facilities and activities on offer are so important
and there's plenty going on for him to join in, the activities team and nursing staff work so hard to give him a good quality of enjoyment of life.

My mother has been a resident at Newton Hosue for over three years, most of that time being spent at Castlegate Unit. The care has been outstanding. Personal and emotional needs are met at all times. All staff manages to balance professional with a caring, friendly and loving manner.

A really lovely care home, well maintained and clean! Carers were amazing, they go above and beyond for my mum. The whole team supported us as a family from the day mum arrived, we were worried about leaving her, if she would be bored, but mum gets involved in the daily activities and mixing with people
her own age has done her the world of good! We can’t thank everyone at Newton House enough!

My wife and I paid two visits to Newton House in May on our way up to and back from Scotland. The first was arranged beforehand, the second was not, being in the spur of the moment. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful on both occasions. We were allowed to see our (having passed lateral
flow tests) 90-year-old aunt in the same room without a plastic barrier and able to share lunch and coffee with her. The Activities Coordinator was especially understanding on the first occasion as were her colleagues (whose names we did not get) on the second. Congratulations to all of them.

I went to see my mother on Saturday 22nd May my mother looked clean neat and well looked after, staff were very polite and attentive to my mother's needs. The activity girl stayed with my mother and explained if she could not hear as we were in a coronavirus environment I was well impressed as I worked
in the care field for 25 years.

The friend we visited looked well cared for, and the pod which we used was warm and comfortable; we could hear the conversation clearly. The carer with our friend stayed throughout and was very kind and carrying with a sense of humour, always a bonus.

My husband has Alzheimer's/Dementia and I chose Newton House because of it being all on one level! As my husband has lead an active life it was important that he could walk around and access the garden with help. The staff and wonderful activity girls have been exceptional, kind, caring and professional.
We are very fortunate to have such an exceptional home in our town. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.

I came to visit my father with my mother in a special viewing pod. The room was warm and the speaker and microphone worked well despite my fathers hearing being poor. The lady who brought him in was very helpful as were the other staff. Due to Covid, we have not been able to access the rooms or the
main site.

I would like to recommend this care home. All the staff are a very committed team, and dedicated professionals, with a very very high standard towards all the residents. We have seen all the love and care that they give to our love ones. If they need anything, it will be provided, without any problem.
We like to thank all the castle gate team for all the hard work that they do, and a special thanks to one lady and the team for sending photos and updates about the care home and activities, (if you have a loved one and need to find special care with love and an excellent team), then, Barchester Newton is the one for you, make time and go for a look round; it's amazing!

Unfortunately, nearly the last 12 months have been a washout and so sad. My mum's had a few falls through lockdown but I can't fault the carers keeping me informed on this, the only thing that upsets me is I live over an hour away and in lockdown, despite not being able to visit Mum, I had a call in
the evening to go to the hospital where Mum was taken. She was left on her own strapped to a stretch board for over 5 hours (that's not the care home's fault) but I thought a carer would have had to go with her as Mum doesn't have full mental compacity, and with visits stopped I was surprised I was even asked to go.
On a positive note, I cannot fault the home, it's clean and the carers are very friendly; my mum's contented for sure. My mum always looks clean washed etc.
The staff always make you feel welcome, I love the activities team, always chatty and always updating us when we visited. Through lockdown, one lady has been a superstar. I can't thank her enough for updates and video calls - you have helped me through this.

It's been so difficult during the covid-19 pandemic. My Mum went into care at the very beginning of lockdown so it's been very hard not seeing her in her new residence. However, the staff who I have spoken to or had contact with seem very caring with regard to my Mum's wellbeing. Every time I have enquired
for information, the staff were well informed and honest about what they were telling me. They were also very friendly and have been great at enabling video calls using their own personal phones to do this. I'm sure everyone there has had to work unbelievably hard to provide quality care whilst making it as safe as possible for the residents.
(My review is based on my overall impression of the home from phone and video calls as I have so far been unable to visit in person due to the restrictions of the pandemic.)

Sam Holt

Sam has been a member of the Newton House family for seven years and has worked in care for thirty years. She describes working on Memory Lane and wishing to better the lives of those touched by dementia as her calling.


She loves spending time with and getting to know our residents, she enjoys being a part of such a friendly and supportive team of colleagues.


In her spare time, Sam loves to Crochet, she has four children and plans on adding a puppy to her family in the near future.

Tina Biggins

Job Title: Nurse

Joined: 1993

Tina has been a part of the Newton for nearly 30 years and takes an immense sense of pride in her role.


She loves being a part of the team in the home and helping our residents.


In her spare time she enjoys being a local cubs and scouts leader .


Charlotte

Charlotte Yates

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2013

Charlotte is proud to hold the role of Deputy Manager at Newton House, she has been with the home since 2013.


Starting as a newly qualified nurse and then becoming head of community on Castlegate before beginning her new role as Deputy Manager.


She speaks highly of the feeling of being part of a larger family in the home, embracing her colleagues, residents and family members.


Charlotte's passion lies in Memory Lane and wanting to enrich the lives of those touched by dementia.


Away from Newton House, Charlotte enjoys spending time with her family including her three daughters, and two dogs, going for walks and enjoying reading and cooking.

Margaret Campbell

Job Title: Head of Community

Joined: 2009

Margaret has been a member of the Newton House family since 2009 and in that time she has been a much-cherished nurse and the Head of Community on Brownlow.


Margaret loves being a part of the Memory Lane Community and making a real difference in our residents' lives, whilst supporting their families and loved ones. She finds her role at Newton House to be incredibly rewarding.


In her spare time, Margaret enjoys yoga, and going for walks, in particular at Belton House where she is a member of the National Trust. Margaret loves to spend time with her family and her grown-up children.
