My mother seems very happy in Glenmoor. Staff seem caring and attentive, and she seems to be well looked after. The covid pandemic means we don't have the same close contact but the team have done well to keep mum safe and the 'opening up' seems to be proceeding well. We have found that the central
accounts are not good. Twenty-nine per cent of monthly accounts have been wrong over nearly five years and I have to keep a close on matters. Accounts let the team down.

The staff at Glenmoor House look after mum extremely well. She is happy living there. It is difficult not being able to access her room due to covid restrictions but we will soon be able to do so and make sure she has everything she needs to be comfortable. The building decoration is looking tired and
the home would benefit from refurbishment to keep apace with current care home standards.

My dad was moved to Glenmoor following a short stay in hospital. It was recommended as the best care facility in the area for his palliative care. All the staff were excellent in the way they cared for Dad and helped make our limited time work the best for us and Dad. Not only did they tend to Dad's
medical needs, they kept his spirits up with chats and general kindness. We are very grateful for the hard work of the management and staff.

As a family 25 years ago we had a horrendous experience of a nursing home so when there was no alternative but nursing care for my mother in law, the family whilst reassured by the good reviews and personal recommendations we received were understandably concerned, and actively looking for any clue
that there may be issues.
From our first phone call the service was friendly, dignified and helpful - everything was made very easy and great care was taken to ensure that her admittance and transfer went through as smoothly as possible, despite Covid. Glenmoor has a great team of staff - from day 1 everyone knew her primary family members by name, nothing was too much trouble, difficult or "later" - and as well as visiting we always felt that we could ring any time - and we always received a friendly and helpful reassuring response.
My mother in law has sadly passed away, but her end of life care was exactly that - the friendly professional care required.

Sadly, Mum was a resident for less than a week before passing away. During this short period, she was treated with dignity and respect and I never felt that it was a nuisance when I contacted the home. The staff treated mum the same way they would treat their own loved ones, which is all you can ask
for.
I'm unable to answer all questions due to the short time mum was a resident.

Carers are very helpful and show empathy.
Activities are okay, although activity assistant often finds it difficult to manage on her own, needs more help.
The rooms are generally well maintained. The lounges could do with being brighter, not well lit and the residents cannot see to read or knit
etc on these dull; winter days.
Mum enjoys the camaraderie of living here.

My mother-in-law doesn't like getting out of bed and sometimes get upset. The staff are always supportive, kind and give her a cuddle when needed. There's never an unkind word spoken, even on one of her bad days, she loves living at Glenmoor House.

In the time that my "Aunty" has been a resident, I have noticed visible improvements in her physically. She benefits greatly from the social aspect of eating together in a dining room and the variety and quality of food are clearly nourishing her, helping her to gain a little weight and have better
colour and tone to her skin.
There are a variety of activities arranged to suit the interests and abilities of all residents, "Aunty" particularly enjoys the singers who visit and she joins in readily with the songs that she is very familiar with. Other activities that are arranged are both mentally and physically stimulating.
As a resident with dementia, she is not always easy but the staff treat her with dignity and respect, which is a comfort to see. Overall "Aunty" is happy as a resident and I'm confident that she is well looked after. As a regular visitor, the staff recognise family and friends and treat them with a professional yet friendly and kind manner.

Whenever I visit mum, I am always welcomed like a family member and greeted by my first name. Even when I have not been able to visit as regularly as I would like, due to my own health, my mind is put at rest in the knowledge that mum is well looked after. Should her condition change suddenly, we would
be informed straight away. The home has a pleasant atmosphere, just like a home from home.
