Glenmore House is well presented as a care home but it lacks in the details and upkeep of the building i.e. lift doors, lift movement faulty lights flashing lights all needing repair. Glenmore House is well presented as a care home but it lacks in the details and upkeep of the building i.e. lift doors, lift movement faulty lights flashing lights all needing repair. My father's overall care seems to be okay, the food needs improving undercooked sausage roll and beans for dinner are not my idea of good food. The clothes situation is not good, items are constantly going missing as are personal items watch's, shoes. As with most care homes they are woefully understaffed and at times the carers are run to the point of exhaustion. Visitor control needs to be tightened up during cv19 restrictions. All visitors had to prove a negative test at the point of entry. On at least 2 occasions whilst I was waiting for my test results I witnessed people enter the building by just waving a negative cv19 test stick in front of a staff member and just walked in. A few days later the building was on lockdown with a cv19 positive case. This place needs to improve and fast.

Glenmoor is not the best but not the worst care home for Mum, I completely understand the difficulties of managing dementia patients and the frustration that comes with it however for £5k a month I should be giving an excellent review but sadly it can only be satisfactory. Since Mum has been there she has lost her teeth, her engagement ring, her hearing aid and sometimes when I visit she’s wearing someone else’s clothes! I had to get two new hearing aids for her and deliberately kept one in case she lost that one. She never has her hearing aid in when I visit and we have to search for it before I can speak to her. Even if she has it in the battery will be dead. We found mouldy sandwiches in her drawer a few months ago. The staff do their best. However, Avery was very good allowing Mum to stay without charge until her house was sold which took nearly two years so I’ve recently handed over over £80k to cover the backlog. Saying all this Mum is happy and that’s the main thing.

My mum has been a resident since June 2020. I am so pleased she is a resident in Glenmoor as the staff are amazing. So polite, helpful and friendly. The rapport they have with the residents is amazing. The home is impeccably clean and well decorated and can't fault it.

Myself, brother and sister viewed other care homes, which we really did not want our mother to go to. We found the ideal home for her that we were happy with. The home is spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly and look after the residents well. If the nurses feel our mother requires medical help, they arrange for a doctor to see her. The manageress and assistant manageress are quick to respond to any concerns that may pop up. My mother has a ground-floor room which looks over the garden. She is very happy there and her family visit frequently.

He was there for a short period but all the staff cared in every way as if they were caring for their own loved one. From the manager to the nursing staff, housekeepers, cleaners, just everyone cared so much.

Mum was at Glenmoor for three and a half years. Staff were kind and friendly, and she was well looked after. At the end of her life, care was truly excellent. Nurses treated her with great dignity and respect after she had passed away and I was most impressed.

My mother seems very happy in Glenmoor. Staff seem caring and attentive, and she seems to be well looked after. The covid pandemic means we don't have the same close contact but the team have done well to keep mum safe and the 'opening up' seems to be proceeding well. We have found that the central accounts are not good. Twenty-nine per cent of monthly accounts have been wrong over nearly five years and I have to keep a close on matters. Accounts let the team down.

Donna loves getting to know our residents and families and is always happy to stop for a chat, share a laugh or lend a helping hand. Her approachable nature and caring attitude make her a valued part of our team.

We’d love to introduce you to Simon, our wonderful Head Chef, who joined the Glenmoor House family in 2023Simon plays such an important part in life at Glenmoor, creating delicious, comforting meals and making sure there is always something for our residents to look forward to at mealtimes. He understands that food is about so much more than simply eating – it’s about memories, favourite flavours, traditions and bringing people together.
With his passion for cooking and his care for the people we support, Simon is a valued member of our team. We’re so lucky to have him as part of the Glenmoor family.

But Maureen brings so much more than her attention to detail. Over nearly three decades, she has become a familiar and much-loved face to our residents, families and team. Her dedication, hard work and commitment to Glenmoor are truly appreciated.

Tessa has a wonderfully kind nature and is always ready to put herself out there, never afraid to challenge herself and try something new. Whether it’s dancing, singing or simply spending time making our residents smile, Tessa brings energy and warmth to Glenmoor.
One of Tessa’s greatest strengths is her ability to adapt to different residents and different circumstances, always taking the time to understand what makes each person happy and ensuring everyone feels included, valued and cared for.
