My brother spent his final days here being cared for excellently by the manager and all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, they went over the way to help and offer extra help when asked for, it took away some of the pressure from the family. We were offered meals for ourselves as we had a good
distance to visit our brother, was truly a home from home. Excellent.

My brother was at this care home only a short time, but the care he received was excellent. The staff were caring and very understanding of my brother's situation. Nothing was too much trouble. They also treated our family with compassion and respect.

I cannot express my thanks enough for the care and attention given to my son whilst he was in your care. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at any time, day or night. All the staff from head to the cleaner. Once again I would recommend this care home to anyone.

My father spent the last 6 months of his life at Blyth Country Care Home and while his sad and inevitable deterioration was difficult the staff could not have worked harder or been more caring during this difficult period.

I have no hesitation in recommending Blyth Country Care Home to other families

with a loved one who needs 24 / 7 care.

Father's GP stated that his care had been 'exemplary', a comment that I agree with 100%.

I will always be grateful for the kindness and unfailing cheerfulness of the staff, often in trying circumstances.

Thank you.

A warm friendly welcome when visiting a friend in a homely feeling care provision. Very kind, attentive staff who immediately helped my friend as soon as requested. The manager even passed into the room to speak to us and my friend.

A nice homely care home, in a lovely location. My friends room was comfortable. When we asked staff to attend to some of our friends needs this was done immediately. The manager was friendly and concerned for our friends welfare and care.

My auntie has been in the Blyth Country House Care Home for the past month and a half and has been looked after with the utmost care and dignity I would wish for her. All the staff are friendly, kind and very professional and have made my auntie extremely comfortable and happy. The home is clean and
well maintained. As my auntie's health slowly gets worse the medical care she is receiving is excellent and very thorough. Thank you for all you are doing to make my aunty feel safe and comfortable.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.447)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.447) out of 10 for Blyth Country House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.114 for Blyth Country House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.114
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.333 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blyth Country House Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.833
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
