St. Catherine's Care Home is located in the middle of Horwich near Bolton and is close to shops, amenities, public transport and the M62 motorway link. Middlebrook Shopping Centre is just one mile away.

This purpose built care home provides nursing and social care for the frail elderly and the mentally infirm elderly.

Accommodation at St Catherine's is provided in single occupancy rooms, some of which are spacious enough for sharing.

St. Catherine's provides TV lounges, quiet sitting rooms and a bright conservatory with access to extensive gardens for residents enjoyment. Meals can be served in one of the separate dining rooms, where residents can enjoy the company of others when dining. Meals are based on traditional home cooking using fresh produce, with daily choices being available. Special diets can be catered for.

Visits are made to the home on a regular basis by an experienced hair stylist and a qualified chiropodist. Complementary therapies can be arranged.

St Catherines is a lovely facility for mum to live. Staff have got to know her personality and needs, meaning a bespoke service to meet her requirements. Nothing is too much trouble for the nurses/care staff. SC is very hospitable to visitors which is important to her family and friends. The communal
day room is a nice space to visit and see other residents/visitors.

A positive experience. Caring staff who provide a brilliant service to the residents (activities, outings, celebrating key events e.g., Easter, st Georges Day, Fathers Day etc) The home is bright and provides a very pleasant atmosphere. Food is varied and of a good standard.

Mum was admitted to St Catherine's for palliative care as we knew she didn't have a lot of time left. Nevertheless, the staff were very caring and welcoming from day one. Everyone showed such care and compassion for Mum and they were very supportive towards the family. It was so reassuring to know Mum
was safe and cared for and the staff would call us right away if Mum's condition changed. We were welcome to visit as much and whenever we wanted. When Mum passed the staff could not have been any kinder. So very grateful for everything.

Mum came to live at St Catherine's last week. She is settling in well and all the staff are friendly and approachable. It's great that when Dad visits that he can join her for lunch if he wants. I'm hoping that Mum will enjoy taking part in the daily activities. We are so pleased it's open for visiting
and we've been welcomed each time we've arrived.

Gill achieved her nursing qualifications a little later in life; however, this hasn’t stopped her from thriving. She began as a care assistant and, before progressing to Home Manager, she achieved her nursing qualifications. Gill is very proud of receiving a ‘Good’ rating from CQC for St Catherine’s. She loves working with the local community and creating a bond with them. Outside of work, Gill is a lover of arts and crafts. She is full of creativity and loves knitting and sewing. She is a proud grandmother and enjoys spending time with her family where she can too.
