St Catherine's Care Home

My mum seems very settled. The staff know her and don't mind if we phone for a welfare update. They contact us when necessary and are informative. No concerns at all.

A very well run establishment. Always very clean and tidy. No offensive smells very calm environment. My dad settled in very well and very quickly due to the kindness and professionalism of all the staff. There are always lots of activities going on, which the staff encourage my dad to participate in, which he loves to do. The food is always very well made and adequate choice. My dad's room, albeit quite small, is always very clean. He asked for a different mattress, which was changed for him immediately. Nothing is too much trouble to make my dad comfortable.

I can rin the home day/night for updates on my dad, which is reassuring, especially under the circumstance with Covid. Dad has settled in well, and all staff are informative with updates on Dad and seem genuinely caring towards him.

I have a good opinion of the care home, they have been patient in answering my questions, and they are always polite. From what I have seen, they have a laugh and joke with their patients. The rooms are basic but clean. So far, no complaints.

My mum was transferred to St Catherine's following an accident. It was during the lockdown, so we haven't seen the room or facilities. From the very day Mum moved in, the staff and management have done their best to reassure us all as a family. Now window visits have started, it's obvious how caring the staff are with Mum. As a family, we'd like to thank you.

Overall I am satisfied with the care and compassion provided by the staff in the recent months due to the deterioration in her health.

It is now going on for 12 months since I last saw my wife which was in early March of this year prior to Covid-19 transmission. She is well settled in the care home and I so look forward to seeing her soon hopefully. The management and staff at the care home are dedicated and caring people. I believe that it takes a special kind of person to do it as well as they do.

My dad's been here for over 4 months. He has Lewibody's Dementia and at times he displays very challenging behaviour. The staff have been amazing and have a great understanding of his condition. They have gone out of their way to make him comfortable and to help in the treatment he needs. Five stars and well done.

I am writing this on behalf of my sister and myself relating to our mother who is a resident. Our mother moved into St Catherine's in May 2020, as such we have not been able to visit so can't comment on the facilities these questions have been left blank. Re other questions, I have answered based on our experience which has been very positive.

Always been happy with his treatment, and the staff have always been very nice and helpful.

St. Catherine's is a lovely care home in which my mother has lived there for around three years now. The carers are all very patient with the residents. They have different events during the year and I am sure they have struggled in the last awful months to do their best. Although I cannot see Mum at the moment, I never feel worried for her.

Care on this unit is very good. The staff are excellent, however, I feel the unit is a little drab and needs brightening up and lighter atmosphere to be promoted.

From day one when my Mother was admitted into this care home, she has been made very welcome, which has put me at ease that she is being well cared for in every way. Staff always hard-working, helpful, and caring.

My husband has been in St Catherine's for about 18 months. I am really happy with his care and the staff are great. I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.

All the staff I've met have been very informative and helpful. The home is more suited to mother's needs, she is happy there. Even under all the stress of the virus, we have been kept well informed. Thank you all.

I believe it takes a particular kind of person to do the job they do and dedication is key. A lot has been said about care home workers have parity with NHS people, I have seen for myself that this is evident.

The nursing staff and care workers are wonderful. The care I have witnessed given to my dad has exceeded my expectations and has alleviated any worries that I had before. His room is clean and tidy, and he is clean and neatly dressed every time I see him. He is well-fed and has gained weight over the past three months. Staff give me feedback on how he is, and that gives me confidence that he is in the right place for his care.

My husband joined the family (EMI unit) on Christmas Eve 2019. From the minute we walked into the home we were all treated with dignity, respect and most of all we felt like we had joined a big happy family. Keep up the good work.
