Reaching the stage when the person you have loved and cared for throughout your long lives together and suddenly very quickly you need to find a care home becomes the biggest worry and greatest concern you have ever known.
The day you have to pass your loved one into somebody else's cate is the most heartbreaking moment you can ever experience as you can imagine, especially with Covid-19.
I am fortunate. The day I was distressed and telephone the Four Seasons Care Home. When I telephone the home, their front door receptionist completely put me at ease and explained in full detail without hesitation all the information I required that could help both me and my loved one in going forward. I felt immediately I had found the right place and the right caring staff even though I had not met them at this time.

"Excellent" is a strong meaning word to place in boxes, but I have found all of this in my opinion to be true and Four Seasons have lived up to all my expectations in caring for my wife.

The team of helpers which I have come to know are very helpful and assist in helping us to achieve what we want to do i.e. information etc.

It's been difficult for everyone during Coronavirus period, and very upsetting both for residents and visiting as this is not enough, hopefully, the government will soon allow more visitation! To get some normality for our loved ones.

Due to not being allowed on the unit - most of the questions would be difficult to answer. However, I have marked the questions based on the situation pre-Covid. The team that are responsible for arranging the visits have been fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are also very caring and kind to my mum. The nursing staff on the winter unit give me regular phone contact about Mum's well-being, which is great. Everyone is doing a fantastic job.

My dad has been in Four Seasons for nearly two years - his care has been very good, and he always seems happy. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. We, as a family, feel we made a good choice with Four Seasibs. We hope the activities return when they can after Covid.

Mum has been in Four Seasons since 2012 when she had a brain hemorrhage. The staff have always looked after her really well and even though she no longer really communicates they always chat with her and make her feel involved. Since covid, the home has been providing video calls and the staff are always happy to arrange them and trying to keep us in touch. I managed to go up and see her before the new lockdown around Christmas (as mum is unable to do window visits) and the home looked clean and the residents seemed happy and covid rules were being adhered to. Always keep me informed of issues relating to mums health and wellbeing.

I would just like to say how appreciative I am of the care staff at Four Seasons summer unit, it has been extremely difficult and upsetting not being able to see my auntie on a weekly basis as previously, due to this horrible pandemic, but modern technology to the rescue along with the care and compassion of the team. A big thanks to the well-being team and the others in organising window visits and face time calls, I don’t know where my auntie and myself would be with out the weekly catch-ups. Thanks to staff for sending me photos and arranging all the calls. Well done four seasons keep up the good work.

I just thought that I would write a few words about my peace of mind whilst my Father-in-Law is away from us during Coronavirus. The wellbeing team is in regular contact using WhatsApp, making our next appointment at the end of our call, brilliant system. Not only the well-being team are a vital part of care, but, the whole team from bottom to top doing a remarkable job under very difficult circumstances. I say to all thank you.

It was my father's 96th birthday on the 9th of December 2020. I had a videocall booked with him at 3.00pm through the carers that deal with this.
I saw that my dad had a banner up behind him saying " Happy Birthday " which I thought was wonderful. Whilst I was on the video call to him the carers brought him a birthday cake complete with candles. They then proceeded to sing " Happy Birthday " to him, oh his face was a picture! He looked thrilled to bits! They then brought him a piece of cake which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was more interested in the cake than talking to me! A few days later I received photos of this occasion.

I really appreciated this gesture.

My dad is being very well cared for due to all the great staff that help to keep him smiling. Since Covid, the team and the Well-being team, in particular, have been fantastic. It's been great to see photos of dad looking through the memories book that the carer helped me to create. I also love the weekly WhatsApp video calls and I feel like dad does too. The staff have got all sorts of added stuff to do just now to keep everybody safe and they deserve maximum credit and all of our sincere thanks for their great work.

2020 has been a very difficult year for all due to COVID 19. It's great that Four Seasons have a great 'well-being' team, who arrange FaceTime meetings with family members and friends. We look forward to our FaceTime meetings each week. Thank you ladies.
