Staff pulled out the stops to get Mum in the nursing home for palliative care, staying late on a Friday night to settle her in. Plane Tree Court was so much calmer than in hospital. All the staff were very attentive looking after not only Mum but Dad and myself, providing comfort and support, many a
cuppa and also lunches that Dad thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were always available to speak to, listen to us, provide a comforting shoulder and guide us through a difficult time. The nursing staff were very professional and we knew we could trust them to make Mum as comfortable as they could.

My mother came and stayed at Plane Tree Court for respite for a week. When I went to pick her up, she cried about leaving! Had a really lovely time, the staff and facilities are excellent. Couldn't fault the care my mum received. Nothing is too much trouble or effort. Extremely friendly and helpful
staff.

When it was decided by my mum and the doctors that going home wasn’t a viable option due to her requirements of twenty-four-hour care, the thought of a nursing home filled me with dread. My only experiences of nursing homes had been the media representation which filled me with dread. Having looked
around a couple of other homes, some being high-class hotel-style residences, but nothing felt like the right fit. My daughters and I were on our way to another care home when we received a call from a member of staff at Plane Tree having received the information about my mum and inviting us for a visit to have a look around. He was very empathetic and understanding of the difficulty of the situation on the phone and once we arrived, he greeted us warmly and we felt immediately at ease. He was upfront and honest about the running of the home, what to expect and any changes they were in the process of which could affect her stay. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and had a big smile on their face.

My mum moved into Plane Tree Court unexpectedly October 2022 after a bout of ill health straight from hospital. My wife and I live in South Wales so we not able to be with her the day she moved. This was upsetting for us, however the staff at Plan Tree were amazing. They made telephone contact with
us updating us every step of the way. Mum was 99 and on end of life care.
We were unable to visit her for the first seven days due to family bereavement and commitments. Not once did we feel she was alone though. We were being assured she was well looked after.
A week later we got to see her, although there were no shocks as we were being kept up to date, we were shocked. Her improvement was immense, she was being well looked after. Mum continue to get better, so much so that in December she reached her 100th birthday and a party was held. Sadly mum past in February, being surrounded by lovely people. We can not thank Plane Tree enough for their care and attention. A big thanks to the staff.

From my first meeting with the deputy manager, our experience was better than we expected. There is a general feel about Plane Tree. Clean and tidy, nothing is too much trouble. Staff are kind, caring and responsive.
Staff are smiling ad obviously committed. A good and sound atmosphere is reflected
in the patient's care. From our point of view (family), the home is care of the first order (wonderful).

Very happy with the care and support given to my son and our family for which we will always be extremely grateful. My son is happy here and that is all that matters to me as we couldn't possibly care for him as you do. All staff interact with him and us. It is nice to know he is not alone when we aren't
there.

I want to express my heartfelt thanks, for all the care provided at Plane Tree Court for my Dad since October 2021. I have felt at every stage of my contact with the staff at Plane Tree Court, that they have their residents' and family members' interests at heart. I am so pleased that a charity and
the Hospital helped find a nursing home for Dad, which met all his needs. On my first contact, my son and I were warmly greeted, even in the middle of a rainstorm and with Covid precautions at their height. The gardens and flowers around the house always look beautiful and give a great first impression and it has been a pleasure getting to know everyone. My Dad was treated with love and respect and as a family, we will be forever grateful. I always felt confident that the staff at Plane Tree Court do 'the right thing' in a medical crisis and communicate well. Thank you so much for making a difficult time in my dad's life and mine, so much easier to cope with, than it might have been.

My father is a resident at Plane Tree Court. He first went there as an emergency respite placement when his wife went into hospital and could no longer look after him. He has now been at Plane Tree for over 6 months and I cannot praise it enough. My father has developed a condition which means he needs
24-hour 121 care. All his carers are absolutely lovely and all genuinely care for his welfare. All the staff there, carers, managers and support staff are amazingly friendly and see every resident as an individual. I am always impressed by how well they know and understand him. My father's condition means he often can't take part in the activities program but the carers always make sure he gets a walk around (even if inside in bad weather) so he doesn't get bored. This place really feels like a family and is a truly supportive environment both for residents and their families.

My mum who has vascular dementia gets excellent care in this home. The staff, from reception, carers, entertainment, and catering to managers are all caring, friendly, helpful and supportive. All are approachable and do what they can to make my mum happy and comfortable. They all work extremely hard!
Residents here all seem happy, including my mum. It puts my mind at rest knowing all this. I can honestly say I wouldn't want my mum to be in any other care home, no matter how grand. Care and trust are the most important things.

Outstanding care, dedication and love towards residents. Both my mum and dad are now residents at Plane Tree Court. I could not ask for more. The staff at every level are totally committed to providing the best possible experience for my parents. I am genuinely in awe of the staff. They have a very
challenging job and they are always attentive, and happy giving my parents the dignity, nurture, care and support they need. I am lucky to have found such a place for my parents.

My mum was in Plane Tree for almost 3 months for end of life care, she was really well looked after and the staff are very friendly and ready to help with any need.
The staff were so lovely at the funeral too, we left from the home and they escorted the hearse and lined the street as we went on towards
the service, very touching and moving.

In 2021, my 93-year-old mother's health and capacity deteriorated rapidly at home and the family were under intense pressure to make sure her health and well being were managed effectively. Thankfully Plane Tree Court accepted my mother and put the family at ease. Indeed the Management at Plane Tree
Court even proactively contacted the family to set up her speedy admission, walking us through the process and immediately making mum as comfortable as possible.

Mum received her end of life care at Plane Tree Court where the team could not have done more during this period to manage mum's condition - it was very humbling to see the levels of professional care and compassion at this time. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, it's difficult to think what we would have done without them.

I have just come off a six-week placement here at Plane Tree Court as part of my training as a student nurse. Plane Tree Court was very welcoming and made me feel like part of the team. I am very fortunate to have been able to experience part of my training here as it opened up my experiences in certain
areas. The care was excellent from what I have seen and being part of delivering the care was very humbling. I can definitely say from what I have seen that all patients are at the heart of each and every staff member.

Mum has been a permanent resident at Plane Tree Court for nearly twelve months and is being well looked after by their caring staff. My family and I would like to say a huge thank you to the deputy manager for suggesting we may wish to celebrate mum’s 95th birthday with mum at the home. The activities
coordinator decorated the area/tables, gave up her time on a day she doesn’t normally work and made us all feel welcome. The chef prepared a nutritious full Sunday roast dinner and even baked a three-tier birthday cake to which we added birthday candles. Mum thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and we all appreciated the valuable time spent with her. A huge thank you, lots of memories to cherish.

My friend was admitted to Plane Tree Court after suffering a stroke. He had been a very much appreciated member of a volunteer group at a local boatyard. Since being at Plane Tree he has come on leaps and bounds and looks so much better. This, I am sure, is due to the care he has received by the leadership
of senior nursing care staff and the team of carers who have worked so hard to help him on his way to recovery, which he is still doing. In these hard times of Covid, they have worked hard to make the lives of all the residents as good as is possible when visits have been restricted. Thankfully I have seen videos of my friend and the short films that have appeared on WhatsApp that have all been arranged by the staff and carers at the home. Christmas would have been so much harder for my friend to take without their help. Care and love have certainly been shown. I appreciate it and I am sure my friend will be doing likewise. Thank you Plane Tree. Have a lovely Xmas yourselves.

A friend went to live at Plane Tree Court in March '20 after a stroke. Due to Covid, we have not been able to visit. The care and consideration given by all the staff both to our friend and us have been outstanding. Our friend is starting to make a good recovery because of them. We have been able to
speak/video call him regularly. He has no close family so we, his friends, care deeply for him. We really cannot find the words to express our appreciation fully.

I had the very hard decision of putting my nan into a nursing home in Feb 2020. I viewed at least five places as I was always the main career for my nan, this was a difficult thing for me and for her and with Covid hitting us I felt Plane Tree Court was the best place. Wow, I am so, so glad I put her
in here. This place and the staff are absolutely amazing, always going above and beyond to help me and my nan feel connected and I’m always kept up to date with changes and always part of anything that needs to happen with my nan. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the hardest months of our lives a little easier. Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.595)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.595) out of 10 for Plane Tree Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.595 for Plane Tree Court is calculated as follows: ( (257 Excellents x 5) + (83 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.595
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Plane Tree Court is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
