My aunt moved into Plane Tree Court in September 2016 and she has had the best care ever. The staff were absolutely brilliant with her, she was very happy to be there when she died. They treated her with amazing respect and gave me the time to sit with her and say my goodbyes. The staff are totally committed to caring for the residents in the care home they are amazing people.

Nursing care difficult dealing with many varied types of illnesses. I understand and support most of their care strategies and I am particularly keen on good manners and attention given to relatives who may find the situation very difficult to understand to accept. More people/relatives should attend the Residents Meetings whenever possible and perhaps then follow up procedures might be put in hand.

My mother has been a resident at Plane Tree Court for over six years. I visited daily for the first seventeen months and since then, usually three times a week at a variety of times. During her stay, I have never seen, heard or found anything which has caused me any concern and I cannot praise all the staff highly enough for their kindness, concern and professionalism. I am delighted that my mum is a resident at this home!

Generally, the standard of care is very good. The home is very clean and the staff are very caring. Some particular issues which I wanted addressed were resolved, and generally speaking, issues are dealt with promptly.
The rooms vary in size but are mostly bright and big enough. The lift is a little too small, and access could be improved, but those are minor points. I cannot comment on the food, Mum doesn't eat (peg feed). There are activities, but Mum cannot participate due to her illness.

Overall it is a good, caring home, and both Mum and Dad (while he was alive) were well looked after.

Excellent care by friendly and helpful staff. Residential and nursing managers are informative and knowledgeable, however, the overall home manager is uncooperative, uncommunicative and will not reply or respond to enquiries. The company directors act likewise.

Reply from Trudy Riley, Quality& compliance manager at Plane Tree Court

I have liaised with AH following this review and he has clarified that these are historic issues that relate to the previous manager, unfortunately, the Directors did not receive any of AH correspondence. We now have a new Interim manager in post who is responsive approachable and wants to listen...

When searching for a care home for my mother, I was particularly looking for a genuinely caring approach, giving my mother the best quality of life possible. In addition to this, quality of rooms, standard of food and physical surroundings such as mature gardens and the facility for residents to sit out in the open when the weather permitted were also important. Plane Tree Court has exceeded my expectations on all front. In particular, the caring attitude of all staff, without exception, their flexibility in coping with my mother's changes in physical condition and the home's extra ideas such as recording of events important throughout my mother's life are so important, providing dignity during my mother's time here.

Review from J B (Friend of Resident) published on 4 January 2017 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

A senior care worker seemed to not communicate with tennant's in the dining room and visitors (did not introduce herself) to us and did not talk individually to tennants when giving out meds (only to say "open your mouth and swallow") There seemed to be an atmosphere when she was present. Tennant's sat with dirty food plates in front of them for an unacceptable time. Then a sponge fairy bun with butter creme on it was put on the table in a paper wrapper, no napkin or plate. These were extremely awkward for these elderly clients to eat in the wrapper. Then sat there with sponge/creme on themselves / table. No social interaction to encourage pleasant meal time. Also, TV is very loud and poor toileting needs.

My husband has been under the care of Plane Tree Court for the past 18 months and I feel that he has been looked after very well. Staff recognise the needs and do the needful. I feel that the home is friendly, open and honest and I have confidence in all the staff. I can approach the staff at any time I can recommend the home to anyone.

I cannot fault the care my dad has received. Nothing is too much trouble and he is extremely happy here. Apart from one clinical lead all the staff are amazing. Caring, considerate, kind, sensitive not only towards my dad but my family as well.

Reply from Fahreen Jivraj-Maguire, Director at Plane Tree Court
