My mum spent her last few days at Westhaven. The kindness, care and dignity with which the nursing staff treated her was outstanding. Mum had previously had a tough few weeks but after arriving at Westhaven, she relaxed. She had nothing but praise for how she was looked after, feeling like a ‘special
guest’. The staff made sure that my mum's wishes were listened to - which was very important to us. Each member of staff took the time to chat with mum and get to know her so she never felt alone. In addition, whilst we were going through the last 24 hours, my brothers and I were supported and cared for too. Staff managed to find a balance between giving the family time together whilst always being on hand with cups of tea, kind words and help. We will never forget the professional care and kindness our family was shown at a very difficult time. Thank you.

Staff were very approachable and helpful in a difficult time. The nurse was especially helpful and provided an extremely useful insight into my mother's care needs.
Both my brother and I are very grateful to all the staff from initial contact with the manager through to the nursing staff in the ward.

Once the hospital asked me to find a nursing home for my father, I deliberately arrived late and unannounced asking to be shown around. From the start, all the staff I came across were cheerful and friendly most importantly the place did not smell of stale urine. This relatively new care home has very
adequately furnished bedrooms, large windows and en-suite bathrooms. There was no problem providing a necessary pressure sensitive mattress. My father, who was fading fast, was looked after to the end by kind and efficient staff and I would not hesitate to recommend Westhaven to others.

My Mother was resident for just over 12 months until she died on the 1st May 2018. The care, dignity, respect and love she was shown by all the staff was outstanding. Thank you!

Outstanding home that gave us everything we could have needed for mums final few days. A genuine feeling of love and caring from all the staff, from management downwards, with nursing and caring available when we needed and privacy/discretion when we didn't. It truly felt like a home from home for mum.

My darling wife was diagnosed with vascular dementia six years ago. As this cruel illness gradually deprived her of the power of speech, and then the ability to look after herself, I looked after her at home. Then a year ago she had a stroke, and medics said for her well being (and mine) she should
enter residential care. Westhaven truly became a haven. The care my wife received, transcended the professional and became movingly an expression of their love for her. Thank you so much.

Mum moved in December 2016. I was made to feel welcome anytime, and mum as if she already moved in. Mum has become frail, forgetful and has had several TIA's. The staff are wonderful! The care that she has received is second to none. She is encouraged to take part but respected if she declines. I have
lost count how often I have recommended Westhaven. A home is only as good as its staff - who are fantastic!

Westhaven, a purpose-built home, offers excellent accommodation and facilities.
All staff are warm and caring.
Food provided is excellent and they have a comprehensive entertainment plan for residents.

My father was in for five months from May 2017. I feel his care was adequate and the staff were friendly. I do feel that the departure of staff (who organised and took part in a large part of the entertainment activities) was greatly missed and affected my father and other residents morale due to lack
of stimulation.

My father was admitted to Westhaven in March 2017 and was discharged home in August.


The care, including medical care, was of a very high order and the facilities were modern, always clean and attractive. Staff were attentive and personable and genuinely built up a relationship.

My Mum moved into Westhaven after a 2 week hospital stay. We found the whole experience of Mum being in the home as a positive experience.
Mum was in Westhaven from March to May 2017 until her death.
All of the staff were so caring, supportive and helpful to both Mum and all the family.
I can't praise
them highly enough for their help to our family during this most difficult time.

Exceptional service and care provided by all staff and management.
At almost 91 my mum's first experience of a residential home while she recovered from a cracked rib, was 5-star luxury.
The care she received, along with the friendliness of all staff is very much appreciated.

My mum was admitted to Westhaven Nursing & Residential Home at the beginning of April.
She arrived following an illness in hospital. All levels of staff have ensured mum's safety, dignity and have encouraged her to achieve her full potential despite being so unwell. The staff have cared for mum but
also us as a family. We have been guided along the quagmire of medical and financial issues. I have to return to Australia leaving feeling reassured that mum will be beautifully cared for in life and in death my gratitude is immeasurable.

This is a wonderful place. My mum had a very bad fall and has admitted first to hosptial and then she was transformed to Westhaven care home where the staff and other patients are very nice and friendly.

My mother's care has been excellent since she moved in. I cannot fault the staff who are kind, considerate, well trained and efficient. Rooms are excellent. Being new and purpose built, the home is not cosy and feels a little sterile but all facilities being on 1 floor with wide corridors activates
mobility. Pictures on the wall of the resident's era improve the ambience. Low, plain glass windows allow residents to look out but gives no privacy. This is to be rectified with film on windows. Being a new home, activities have been slow to get started but are now going well. Visitors are welcome at all reasonable times of day with early mornings and mealtimes protected at residents request. Residents and relatives meetings have taken place and views are listened to and acted on where possible.

I have found the home to be very caring. Since moving into the home in October 2015 my mother's health has improved greatly due to the excellent care by the friendly and motivated staff. The home is very well run and all the staff always go the extra mile.
