An absolutely brilliant place for elderly relatives with dementia/ Alzheimer's. My grandma moved here when her last care home had neglected her terribly. belong Macclesfield is a welcoming, caring and loving environment for any relative. I have trust in the staff and feel my grandma is being cared for, she is part of a family at belong which is lovely and means soo much to myself and the wider family
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with this lovely feedback. Our team work really hard to ensure a friendly, homely and welcoming environment. We are so happy to hear that your Grandma is so well cared for, and it means a great deal to our village team to know that this is appreciated.
After 4 years of supporting my parents in the community I am now able to have my own life as well.

At times this has been difficult but all staff have shown her dignity where ever possible in these challenging times
Our family have also been shown kindness and support , from all levels of staff at belong

There have been occasions when I have not known the staff because they were agency staff and I have found them less interested and caring but this time has been better.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this review and we are delighted to hear that our care team are supporting your Dad well. We greatly appreciate your valuable feedback and continuously look at ways we can improve. We will share your comments with the village management team for further review.
This was during Christmas but the standards should not be allowed to slip.
This is not typical - for the past two years, we have been extremely satisfied with everything Belong has done.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review of Belong Macclesfield. We are happy to hear that you are overall happy with the service provided. However, we take your additional comments seriously and remain committed to maintaining and investing in high-quality services and facilities. We will share your feedback with the village management team.
Premises and facilities are well presented and maintained. The 'house' she resides in has a lovely south-facing balcony area, large lounge area with TV and a comfortable dining area. Her bedroom is a good size and the en-suite wet room is spacious. The small household model gives it a family feel and I'm sure, puts residents at ease.
Thank you for such positive review on the support and care provided at Belong Macclesfield. We do our best to understand every customer and make everyone a part of our Belong family. It is a pleasure to have your mother living with us.
Throughout all this time, the staff and management have continually exceeded expectations, showing such kindness, care and empathy to both Mum and our family.
They make my mum feel special and deeply loved. Everyone stops to talk to her and they somehow know the right words to use - whether to make her laugh or to just lift up her spirits when needed. We are so grateful to each and every person, regardless of job title, who strives to do their very best, day in and day out.
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide this review. It means a great deal to the team here and we are so pleased to hear your mum is so very happy at Belong Macclesfield. Our team will be thrilled to hear that the love and care they give is making such a difference.
Mum has been living at Belong for five months and had home services before that. The staff in her house have been and are amazing. They do not just "offer support services" to my mum but they care about her, her happiness and comfort. I feel that Mum is living with extended family who have, in turn, become part of my family. I cannot think of anywhere else that I would want Mum to be. Well done to everyone.
Thank you very much for this lovely review. We really appreciate you taking the time to provide it and our village team will be delighted to hear that your mum feels happy and embraced by our Belong family.
Some of the internal amenities could do with a little TLC, can not give examples as it's an overall impression.
To conclude, perfectly satisfied with all aspects.
Thank you for leaving such a kind review of Belong Macclesfield. We are so happy to hear that your mum is enjoying her time here and that you are happy with her care; I will share with the entire team.
Mum has been at Belong Macclesfield for 10 months. It was a massive adjustment for her and for us but throughout it all, the Belong staff, care staff, nursing staff, managers and also reception staff, activities staff, catering staff and others. They have all been amazing. We have never doubted their focus and commitment to Mum's health and happiness. Nothing has been too much trouble. Any concerns we have had have been responded to promptly and compassionately informed of all issues pertaining to Mum's care. It feels like a genuine partnership between family and staff, even to the point of feeling like Mum is staying with extended family. Well done Belong! You set a high standard and I feel privileged that Mum lives with you. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this lovely feedback. We are delighted to know that your mum is happy at Belong Macclesfield and that the dedication and commitment of our village teams are making such a difference to you both. It's a pleasure to have your mum as part of our Belong family.
My wife has been in Belong Macclesfield for just over 2 years. She has dementia and suffered a major stroke just prior to entering Belong. I have, sadly, much experience with other care homes with other relatives in the past and can honestly say that none has offered such care as Belong. The staff are consistently caring, helpful, and friendly and I know that my wife will be safe in their care.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback on the support provided at Belong Macclesfield. We are delighted to hear you feel confident that your wife is receiving the care and attention that she needs. I will convey your kind feedback to all of our village team.
Everywhere looks clean and well-decorated. It's nice to go down to the bistro for coffee and its different surroundings.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review of Belong Macclesfield. We are so touched by your kind words, and will aim to keep our services to such high standards.
Clearly, I am not there at eating times but one thing she does enjoy is a shepherd's pie - may sound trivial but I hope it's on the menu, i.e. tasty and easy to eat with a fork. Fruit and custard is another favourite!
Thank you for submitting such a kind review. We are delighted to hear your experience with Belong has been a good one. Thanks again for choosing Belong Macclesfield; it's a pleasure to have your mum with us.
Excellent, caring environment. Helpful staff and a positive atmosphere. Cafe in the foyer is a large bonus and the food is good. Highly recommend, we would not want to be anywhere else.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this feedback. We aim to maintain high standards at Belong Macclesfield; we are so delighted to hear this has been your experience.
I cannot adequately thank all the staff in Oak House, the nurses, the receptionists and any other staff involved who gave care to my parents. You make a difference. You are the best!
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review of Belong Macclesfield. We are so touched by your kind words, and are delighted to hear that your parents had such a lovely experience with us. I will make sure your review is passed on to the entire village team.
My mother and father were in Belong for the last two years. If there were another 10 stars available then Belong Macclesfield would get them. Staff are personable, well trained and extremely kind to all. My parents were treated as family members in the home and thus were so happy there and swiftly settled. It was home from home for them. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. The housekeeping/kitchen dining set-up is wonderfully practical and resident friendly too. Nothing is too much trouble. Having experienced previous homes, this was just a different level which was so reassuring. Systems for medication and doctor's visits are excellent allowing for swift reviews or changes to care. The care we also got as relatives was also very supportive and responsive. The cafe set-up is also great and allows for an easy change of scene without having to go far. Thank you Belong for looking after our parents so well, you’ve been wonderful and we really appreciate it.
Thank you for taking the time to submit such wonderful feedback. We aim to maintain high standards at Belong Macclesfield and our team work hard to create a friendly, homely and welcoming environment; we are so delighted to hear this has been your experience and that your parents have been so happy with us. I will make sure your kind words are passed to the village team.
A good transition from home, thanks to admin staff and staff in Cedar House. Particularly impressed by staff in Cedar House; kind, patient and proactive. Excellent attitude to residents and visitors. Same applies in the Bistro. Ample opportunities for residents to snack between meals; a bowl of fresh fruit would be a nice addition if feasible.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback on the support provided at Belong Macclesfield. We are delighted to hear your husband has settled in with us and that you are happy with our excellent care and attitude to residents and visitors. Thank you for choosing Belong Macclesfield.
Mum broke her hip in October 2023, since then household care staff in Oak have put in place a care plan of emotional and physical reassurance for both Mum and me. Hip op was cancelled due to complexity and so Mum has had to manage with a raised shoe. Through the care and support of staff in the household, Mum is beginning to walk with the aid of a walking frame. Two care staff to assist presently but hopefully, now Mum is strong, they will soon reduce to one staff member. Fitness training support from Belong Macclesfield, two times per week, is most welcome and helping Mum's progress.
Thank you for such lovely feedback. We are delighted to hear your mum is happy with us and enjoying our care plan and exercise services. I will make sure your review is passed on to the village teams. Thank you for choosing Belong Macclesfield.
My mother-in-law has been receiving dementia nursing care at Belong Macclesfield for just over twelve months. The facilities and the household set up for residents is fantastic and not something I have seen at other care homes that I visited before choosing Belong. In addition, the care provided by all staff is unparalleled with staff providing excellent personal care and generating a warm, loving, environment for all residents within each household.
Thank you very much for this lovely review. We really appreciate you taking the time to provide it and our village team will be delighted to hear that your mother-in-law is settled and happy. We are particularly delighted that you are finding that the care provided by all of the team is unparalleled. Thank you for choosing Belong Macclesfield.
Witnessing the decline through Alzheimer's of such a loving and loved woman, our magical mom and the love of our dad's life, has been indescribable and a real struggle. When my sister, our untiring girl-on-the-ground advocate, managed to secure a place in Willow House 16 months ago or so, we were so relieved. I live on the other side of the world, which limits the frequency and length of my visits, but through family descriptions, videos, pictures and my own visits I've experienced the warmth, specialist care and humour of all at Belong. They've helped us navigate the emotions and practicalities of this awful disease; Mom and our whole family are so respected and valued by the Belong family. We pinch ourselves that this kind of support is even possible and no words can thank everyone enough for what they do and how they do it. They turn up every day, helping our wonderful mom retain dignity in her dimming twilight and we feel her caring angels really do love her.
Thank you very much for this lovely review. We really appreciate you taking the time to provide it and our team will be delighted to hear that they are making a difference to your mum's care and that she is a part of our Belong family. We are so happy to know that you are reassured by the care and warmth that she is shown. We would like to thank you on behalf of Belong Macclesfield.

Formerly a Support Manager at Belong Macclesfield, Cheryl has over 27 years of experience in a range of care sector roles. Her career with Belong spans over a decade, from when she joined as registered manager of its home care service, Belong at Home, which she helped establish in 2010.
As Support Manager at Belong Macclesfield, Cheryl shared knowledge and ideas with Belong villages in Crewe and Warrington as part of the organisation’s job swap scheme to improve group-wide standards of care, including industry-leading dementia care.
Cheryl’s perspectives on driving standards of care at multiple villages make her ideally qualified to be a General Manager. Her background, including helping to found Belong’s award-winning home care service, also gives her a particular understanding of many customers’ journeys, which often involve deciding to move to a Belong village after requiring domiciliary care.

Helen is passionate about providing the best care to customers. Her career with Belong began after leaving school, nearly 20 years ago, initially with CLS Care Services before moving to Belong's flagship village in Macclesfield when it opened in 2007. Helen worked as a support worker and lead senior support worker, before progressing to the role of Support Manager at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme in 2020. She has achieved a Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and has recently completed qualifications in Leadership, Health and Social Care. More recently Helen moved back to into the role of Support Manager at Belong Macclesfield.

Nicola joined the Belong team as a Receptionist when Belong Macclesfield first opened in September 2007. She was soon appointed as an Administrator before being promoted to Senior Administrator and later to the Front of front-of-house manager role in 2010.
Nicola started her career in administration at a pharmaceutical company in Hertfordshire, before moving to Macclesfield in the summer of 1992, where she worked as a part-time carer/support worker in the community, for 14 years. She also worked as a self-employed mobile beautician (NVQ level 2 in Beauty and other holistic treatments) in her spare time.
Since working at Belong Nicola has qualified in Business/Administration NVQ Level 3, Team Leader NVQ Level 2 and more recently Advanced Level Apprenticeship Level 3 in Fine Line Management. Nicola also holds a BIIAB Level 2 Personal Licence Holder.
As part of the village management team, Nicola leads the front-of-house teams at Belong Macclesfield including, Reception and Administration, Housekeeping and Laundry, Catering, Salon and Caretaker.

Charlotte has a bachelor’s degree in Adult Nursing, with a background as a registered nurse for the NHS.
Working over two years at Macclesfield Hospital as a Transfer of Care Hub Sister within the discharge team, she brings her broad knowledge of supporting those living with dementia to this role, as well as a strong track record as a mentor.

A dedicated and caring individual, Anna initially joined the Experience Team as a Support Worker before being promoted to the Experience Coordinator role in 2023. Her objective is to promote wellbeing and quality for Belong Macclesfield’s residents, tenants and Experience Day customers through a vibrant and extensive range of events and opportunities.
She plans the village’s bi-monthly ‘What’s On’ programme, with activities reflecting the interests and wishes of our customers. Her role also encompasses building links with stakeholders in the community, including local schools and businesses, churches, music groups and a range of entertainers. This ensures that residents continue to have opportunities to meet new people and enjoy new experiences.

Karen has worked in the care sector for 29 years starting as a Support Worker in a dementia unit. After 2 years Karen took up a position as a Community Support Worker for Social Services, working with vulnerable adults in the community. In 2009 she worked as a Senior for the Reablement team within Social Services assisting vulnerable adults to aim towards independence sourcing care and support when required.
After 21 years with Social Services, Karen joined Belong at Home as a Community Support Worker, quickly rising to Senior, and in 2016 became the Registered Manager for Belong at Home.
