I am unable to mark activities because I have not seen a great deal of them and nobody has given me an overview of what takes place on a day to day basis, this is not a criticism as I find the staff wonderful.

I believe improvements could be made with looking after clothing.

My mother praises the carers highly. When l meet the carers they are always warm and patient. The reception staff, managers and catering staff are extremely helpful.
The place is clean and tidy and she is now getting her medication daily which was difficult to manage at home. She likes the food and looks better nourished. The activities have just started again and that makes a huge difference to her mood. She feels safe and cared for while free to do what she wants!

During the pandemic the infection control has been well managed and balanced with the needs of the residents. The administration around her admission was well managed. I was kept well updated about when a bed would be available and advised on financing of her care. Her booster vaccination and flu vaccine were all delivered in house and the issues around consent well communicated.

Following two respite care visits to Belong, which saw my husband happy and relaxed on his return home, it soon became apparent that we were heading towards a permanent arrangement.
I was professionally guided towards making the difficult decision that is how to judge when it is the right time to make a permanent arrangement. Not making this judgement during a crisis, I was able to choose when he would live. Fortunately, he was able to return to the household where he had been for respite care.
Thankfully, he has settled and is embracing life at Belong. There is a happy, relaxed, stimulating environment in the household where nothing is too much trouble. All staff are welcoming, caring and kind. We are both far more relaxed, so time spent together is full of quality.

I have no doubt that living in Belong is the best alternative to living at home.

My mum moved into a lovely apartment at Belong Macclesfield in March 2020, 3 weeks before Covid first began. On arrival, Mum was disorientated and it was apparent that signs of cognitive impairment were underway. Throughout the following 12 months, the manager and team at Belong did everything possible to help Mum settle in and feel at home independently. Belong's excellent receptionists and on site nurses were on hand when needed. After 12 months Mum developed vascular dementia and moved on to a household, on Belong's care side. Belong's unique households are wonderfully innovative, offering residents an experience as close to their former residential private homes as possible. Totally dedicated staff are on hand to assist with everything. Nothing's too much trouble. No chance of loneliness here. Meals cooked from scratch by the fantastic carers on each household's kitchen. Various activities and kindness in abundance. Look here first for the care of your loved one. Quite simply, it is the best. 5*

Mum went into Belong Macclesfield in January after being in another care home - they weren't able to cope with her failing dementia and level of falls. She seemed initially to settle well, gained weight and ate food she'd never tried before. Unfortunately, she deteriorated dramatically in the last 3 weeks of her life and passed on 26th April. Throughout her time the care and support of the Cedar House was impeccable, the contact with the family at all times was exceptional. We felt we had our eyes on her with the 'relative's gateway'. If she had a fall, they would contact me straight away. Belong is by far the most outstanding care home - its professionalism is outstanding. During Mum's final few days, there was always a carer with her, we feel she had the love, care and support as if they are family. It is very comforting for us to know that she was treated with respect and dignity during her last months. Special thanks to all Team Cedar.

Mum moved into Belong residential care from one of their apartments following several hospital admissions last year. It has been very difficult for the family under COVID restrictions as we saw mum on a daily basis. Belong have been fantastic in their handling of lockdown. Families are given notice and explanations of any measures that have had to be put in place. Despite intermittent visits mum has been very happy in Poplar House. The staff have been amazing keeping the residents occupied and stimulated. As a family, we are so happy with the care the Belong staff have given mum. All the staff from management down are caring and professional. I would not hesitate at recommending Belong Macclesfield.

The person this review relates to has been extremely settled, well cared for and happy here. Not only because of the lovely and happy environment but due to the very caring staff, who have gone over and above what could possibly be expected of carers. All very welcoming to visitors too. Under the limited circumstances of the past year, everyone is to be commended.

Unfortunately, the year that my mum has been in care has also been in lockdown. Despite measures to try and maintain contact via Skype and outdoor garden visits, it has been very difficult with PPE and social distance as a big physical barrier - but that's the same world over. For my peace of mind that my Mum is secure, entertained, safe and has company, Belong Macclesfield is off the scale. My Mum is so much happier. She laughs a lot. She is much less anxious and tearful. It was 100% the best decision to move her here. She has put a lot of weight on, so it seems she likes the food a lot! and this is something she needs help in reducing. I look forward to being able to hug her.

This has been a horrible time, with the global pandemic, plus the stresses of Brexit. Through it all, I have been unable to have proper contact with my poor mother, who struggles to make sense of anything at the best of times. Given her isolation from her family, is enforced, I couldn't be happier that she is safe at Belong. She couldn't be anywhere better. The belong staff are lovely and she is part of an extended family, who treat her like one of their own.

As my mother's time at Belong coincides with the full pandemic period there is no doubt that given my mother's condition (Dementia and Alzheimer's) that this has been the best solution for her own security, health care and wellbeing. The staff are very skilled and highly competent people whom I generally feel have the residents welfare at heart. There is a great range of activities for resident which will have benefited my mum. The task ahead is getting her diet under control as her weight has increased substantially. The staff are aware but unfortunately, there is no regular evidence in the portal as to what is being done about this. I also feel more screens and family visits should be in place. Four visits a day is woeful.

Lockdown has been very difficult for families who are separated but Belong have taken such good care of my mother. I have felt very reassured that she isn't suffering because of it. They have provided safe visits wherever possible and they provide activities and entertainment regularly. Christmas without Mum was hard, but she told me she had a wonderful Christmas on Beech and had been well fed and well looked after. What more could I ask for?
