Set within the beautiful Cheshire countryside, in the rural village of Bollington, this Georgian home has been carefully modernised and refurbished to provide a high standard of accommodation and facilities.

Committed to providing individualised care, Mount Hall is a nursing home with a dedicated team of staff who work hard to understand the needs of each resident.

Care plans are offered for short and long term needs and include palliative and Parkinson's care.

Most bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and views of the large landscaped gardens and all can be personalised to promote familiarity.

The chef is proactive in getting to know each resident’s dietary needs and checks regularly to make sure residents remain happy by offering a selection of tasty and nutritious homemade meals.

Beautiful house set in stunning grounds with far-reaching views of the Cheshire countryside. The nursing and care staff are amazing. Food is good and there are lots of activities for the residents including canal boat trips and live music. My dad is very happy and settled here and I feel very welcome
when I visit. Has completely taken away any worry that I had when my dad was living independently. Thanks to all at Mount Hall!

We visited several care homes before deciding upon Mount Hall for my mum. We have not been disappointed! The level of care, support and understanding has been exceptional. The staff are wonderful and showed considerable patience when Mum was settling in. Mum is thoroughly enjoying her stay at Mount
Hall and is enjoying the many stimulating activities. She is having a new lease of life.

Our parents became residents at Mount Hall in January 2024. The staff made great efforts to help them settle in and also kept us fully informed of the process each step of the way. We cannot stress how impressed we are with the staff at Mount Hall in relation to our parents' medical needs and day-to-day
care and also with the housekeeping and maintenance of the home and the range of imaginative and creative activities offered each week. The standard and quality of the meals is really excellent. The management team are very friendly and always has a listening ear and goes above and beyond what we would have expected. Everyone is very friendly and there are lots of smiles and laughter every time we visit. Our parents settled quickly and appreciate the home, its beautiful setting and the professionalism of all the staff.
The home helped us to host a small 100th party for our dad recently and nothing was too much trouble. We feel very lucky to have found Mount Hall.

The care at Mount Hall was very good. Staff very helpful and kind. The room was spacious with a lovely view.
The food was the only letdown, there is definitely room for improvement!
I would, however, recommend Mount Hall to a friend or relative.

Since my last review, the care staff have appeared more stable, with friendly, helpful carers who my aunt understands. The activities have also improved, my aunt especially enjoys the musical entertainers. Unfortunately, she has a very old-fashioned wheelchair which doesn't have a folding backrest which
makes it difficult for us to take my aunt out. There were troubles with the cook/chef at New Year, this has been resolved now.

My late wife resided at Mount Hall Care Home for the last 7 years. Due to a stroke in April 2011, she suffered massive brain damage that rendered her unable to communicate and speak normally. The stroke also affected her other bodily systems, comprehension and memory. From her 1st day at the home, she
was made welcome, and she was cared for and nursed to a high standard. She was always treated with high regard, respect and dignity. She made friends with several residents and members of staff alike. With my wife at Mount Hall, I found that I could be at ease, due to the knowledge that the standard of care being given to her was first class.

Mum was only at Mount Hall for a very short time but was immediately made comfortable and secure. We were able to access the room prior to her arrival to bring her personal effects and make it more homely.
The staff were incredibly kind and caring whilst maintaining a professional approach.
We can't
thank everyone at Mount Hall enough for looking after Mum in her final days and helping us through a very different time.

My father has been a resident at Mount Hall Care Home since July 2023. We have been very pleased with the care and attention he has received.
It took him a while to settle as it is a big change for him being away from my mum and also relocating from Yorkshire to Cheshire. (My mum is now over here too
so is visiting regularly). Throughout this time the staff have been kind and attentive to all his needs and feelings.
The home is friendly and professional. It is clean and the residents are kept very clean too. The food is of good quality and there is always choice which is nice.
My dad particularly likes the location of Mount Hall and the view from his window.
The activities are run well and are varied and my dad has begun to enjoy these. The one thing I would say is that I wish there was a church service of some kind offered. Even just communion. My dad has always gone to church and I think it would be a huge benefit to him to have this spiritual input.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The home always feels fresh and clean. Good range of daily entertainment. Prompt response to requests and queries. Smooth transition for my mum from living at home. Lovely grounds and a short distance to local amenities.

My mother has been a resident at Mount Hall Care Home for over four years. During this time, she has been looked after with care, compassion and patience. The home is always very clean, and the meals served are varied and nutritional. There is always plenty to keep residents happy with entertainment
and activities; although my mother is not always able to join in, there is lots to watch. Has a family atmosphere.

Having to move my mum from another care home, and having had almost a year of hospitals and nursing care, my mum needed a home that offered good all round day care. Mount Hall staff were understanding of my mother's and our needs, they have provided a lovely room, which is great as she refuses to leave
it, even to go for meals. It's early days, but the staff have all been very helpful to make my mum's stay as comfortable as possible.

Whenever I visit the home I always receive a friendly greeting, all the staff are pleasant and well turned out. They are always ready to discuss/help with any problems or queries I have - nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. My husband is well cared for, kept clean and tidy and well nourished.
The activities are well thought out and provide mental stimulation. There is always plenty of encouragement to participate in events and activities. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the home and my husband's treatment.

My mother came to the home following a stroke. She has been welcomed, cared for, entertained and treated with dignity and respect at all times when life has been stressful and difficult for her.
Any adjustment to her life has been smooth and efficient.
This is as good as it gets.

I spent twelve days at Mount Hall Care Home in my recuperation, following a knee replacement. Although there were occasional 'hiccups' and small lapses, these were no more than might be expected in a complex organisation using many staff and treating clients, many with complex needs. Overall, the standard
of care shown to me was very high quality. The staff were courteous, friendly and efficient and I enjoyed my stay at Mount Hall. It helped in promoting an effective recovery after a difficult operation.

We cannot praise the staff at Mount Hall Care Home enough for the care given to my mother-in-law during the last few weeks of her life. She was treated with kindness, care and with dignity and compassion by everyone. Excellent care, beautiful setting, wonderful staff.

Came to visit my friend that resides at Mount Hall on Saturday. Such a great atmosphere. She always says how wonderful the staff are and how much is always going on. We were all treated to afternoon tea for the Coronation, which was super and a glass of bubbles to boot.

After Covid I feel that the home has declined in as much as the food, overall cleanliness and attention to detail has slipped, all the original staff have left and the void I feel has been filled largely by agency staff. I understand that this is largely unavoidable, but several times I have had to
mention Mum's dirty room. She herself seems content which is good but there is room for improvement.

We are sorry that you feel the standards have slipped following covid at Mount Hall. However, the home has confirmed that they have a full team of Bupa staff onboard, who have been carefully selected for their caring qualities and expertise. They have recruited a chef manager who has worked at one of our other Bupa homes and has vast experience, along with 2 new hostesses and 2 new kitchen assistants. We have a full team of 3 activity coordinators, we continue to offer stimulating and meaningful activities. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your Mum's stay as comfortable as possible.

Francisca Owusu-Ansah

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

My first role in Bupa was as a staff nurse, then unit manager, before progressing to clinical deputy manager and then home manager in June 2024.


I qualified as a Registered nurse in Ghana in 2002. I have previous experience of working in the NHS and as a haemodialysis nurse for a private dialysis company. The bulk of my experience has however been working in care homes in a variety of roles. Although I have pursued other career ambitions, my passion for working with the elderly always brought me back to the sector.


I love working here as it means so much to me to be part of a supportive team that continuously strives to be world class in the care in the we deliver, through meaningful engagement with residents, their families and staff.


I am a mother of four and in my spare time I and enjoy spending time with my family. The highlight of my weekend is cheering on my little boy and budding footballer at the touchline. I have a passion for fully committing to everything I do both professionally and in my personal life. I enjoy being support to others in any way I can.

I am a registered adult nurse with over 13 years experience. My nursing journey started in Nigeria, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in nursing. Following this, I moved to the UK where I obtained a level 5 management in health and social care. My interest in the care home sector grew from my passion for providing high quality, person-centred care. Working in this environment has allowed me to blend my clinical expertise with leadership, ensuring that care is both compassionate and efficient.


What I enjoy most about working in the care sector, is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives every day and the relationships I build with residents, relatives and the care team. The care home environment fosters deep connections, and I appreciate the trust that residents place in us. I am also passionate about self and professional development; I'm currently studying for a masters degree in nursing at the University of Sunderland to further develop my clinical and leadership skills, contributing to evidence-based nursing practice for a better service delivery in the care sector.


Family is a huge part of my life. I am a proud mum of two children - my eldest is 4 and his little sister is 1. I live local to the home, in Bollington, and in my spare time I enjoy outdoor walks and playing with my children at the playground. I also enjoy reading, cooking, swimming and exploring innovative healthcare solutions through simple research and documentations.

I have worked at Mount Hall for 29 years. Before this job, I worked as a district nurse in Manchester. I love being a nurse because I'm able to give care to others and make residents smile, and the team I work with always gives 100% every day.


I have been married for 38 years, and have two grown-up sons. In my spare time, I enjoy eating out trying new food and going away on holiday with my family - my husband and sons are my world!

I have worked in this role for Bupa for 14 years. I commenced nursing training in 1975 at Withington Hospital, Manchester. After I qualified, I spent many years working in hospitals, specialising in accident & emergency and orthopaedics.


My favourite part about my job is looking after residents and being part of a great team.


I have 4 children, now all grown up! And two grandchildren - outside of work I love spending time with my family.

I have worked for Bupa for 21 years. Previous to that, I have worked in a private school and the building trade as a property developer.


I love working in the care sector as no 2 days are the same! Doing all I can for the residents and working with a good and friendly team is what I love about working here.


In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, Angie and love cooking fancy meals. I also have a keen interest in cars.
