My mother in law was taken from the hospital stroke ward on the 17th Dec 2025 to Ferndale. We had never had to use a nursing home for anyone, so it was a shock, but the care and understanding of everyone, from the maintenance man to the top person, put us all at ease. We could see the true care and nursing my mum in law got. First class Mum was non-communicative, no strength to stand, and no snowlling it was very hard for everyone. The staff gave her care, kindness and dignity, and looked after the family. Thank you all. Sadly, Mum was only there six days when she passed peacefully with family at her bedside.

Mum needed 24 hour nursing care; she was at the home for 6 days before passing away. The staff at Ferndale were very caring and did everything they could for her, and for us as a family. The environment was pleasant, and always something going on for the residents.
I cannot thank them enough for the care and dignity they gave Mum during her last days.

Thanks to the manager Rishner and Mame, Jackie, Ben, Winnie & Caroline and all of the staff.

Since losing my dad in January, I have taken over care for my grandad. The staff and management have been incredible with my grandad and myself. They keep me updated on him via phone, and any support or questions I have are no problem for the staff to point me in the right direction. The manager is very approachable and caring. My grandad is being taken care of, and it puts my mind at ease. Thank you all.

Our mother has been in Ferndale Court since September 2024, we as a family could not look after mum full time unfortunately! The decision was taken out of our hands because of mum falling.
The care she is receiving is second to none. We feel she is being well looked after by all the staff (some over and beyond). The home is spotlessly clean well done Bev and team. Rishna the manager is very approachable and has addressed any issues we have had. Another mention to Kevin for keeping the residents entertained. These carers work extremely hard and definitely earn their wage.

Thank you Ferndale Court for all you do for our mum.

I have found staff to be extremely hard working respectful and give residents dignity. Nothing is too much trouble. Improvements: I think their needs to be more recreational facilities for example darts, jigsaw, pool, chess, dominoes, draughts and other games. Further the rooms (doors etc) needs a little work on them.

I was concerned when my husband had to transfer from a care home to Ferndale. The hospital consultant emphasised the need for nursing care from February 2025. My concerns were groundless. Both my husband and I have been treated well and with respect. The nursing and care given to the former have been wonderful. I congratulate management and staff on a job well done with compassion.

Myself and my husband regularly visit my Mother in Law who being a former District Nurse has always been up and dressed early in the day. She has been in this home now for 4 half months and it's like the level of care isn't there, this is not the carer's fault as they seem to be very short staffed. There has never been a time in these 4 months when a family member has visited that she's been out of bed before 11.30am washed, dressed and sat in her chair. This is only a small snippet into the failings that I have noted throughout her stay and I'm afraid this puts the home in a very bad light. There are buzzers going off constantly, people wanting attention, residents shouting for assistance. This is having a detrimental affect on my health, never mind my Mother in Law.
