My mum joined you as a resident in November last year, four months later, we feel she is beginning to accept the situation! I am extremely grateful for the care time you have given her to welcome her and try to make it her home. It has been a difficult few months, and we are lucky that we have been able to continue to do window visits and look forward to coming inside to see her soon. Thank you.

Thank you for your understanding during such a difficult time. We appreciate it is very hard not being able to see your loved one for such a long time. I am also pleased that your mother has now settled in and our staff made her feel very welcome. It is always nice to hear from family members...

Honestly I find it very hard to write a review because for 12 of the 18 months my mother has been in the home, it has been in lockdown.

I personally always find the staff at Cottingley Hall caring, knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive.

My mother has been a resident for some time now and because of the care and atmosphere of the home she feels very settled. I have always found staff approachable and friendly but professional.

The ambiance of the home is calming but there always seems to be plenty of activities undertaken with a deal of thought and planning on most occasions.

My mother-in-law has been in Cottingley Hall Care Home for some years and she has loved living there. She loves all the staff and we have always been very welcome when visiting. As we don’t live in the UK anymore we never had to worry about how she is looked after and whenever we get in touch, it is always a pleasant experience. All the staff that I have met are amazing and go above and beyond to make us welcome when we have visited. I have nothing negative to say at all. If you want your loved ones to be looked after the way you would want them to be, then Cottingley Hall is the place they need to be.

Excellent staff and post-operative care. Good nursing standards. Staff very good at dealing with my car and picking it up from the hospital, where it had been parked due to the urgency of my admission. The excellent drawing-room and lounges with much period retained character. Staff always have time for a chat.

It is always a difficult decision to move your loved one into full-time residential care and due to the current pandemic even more so. I am pleased to report that all the staff at Cottingley Hall have gone above and beyond to welcome, support and take care of all of my Mum's needs. Initially, we booked a six-week stay but have been happy to extend this long term. There is a full and varied activities programme each day which she enjoys taking part in. Covid restrictions dictate that only closed window visits are permitted - these are easily arranged. I see my Mum 4 times a week. With the vaccine roll out and hopefully the opening of the home to relatives I will give a full review of the Care Home then.

Mum has settled in really well during her first few months at Cottingley Hall. Everyone involved with her move has been excellent - so caring, friendly and professional. She joins in all the activities and clubs but also enjoys time in her cosy room. She is also enjoying all the meals and not having to worry about a thing. I'm kept informed by regular newsletters and phone calls - nothing is too much for anyone. I've seen a positive change in Mum over the last few months which is a credit to everyone at Cottingley Hall.

Although I have been unable to do an inside face to face visit to see my mum since she went to live at Cottingley Hall a few months ago, I have always had good communication with the staff who have kept me well informed and I can see from video calls how caring and committed they are in the care of my mum. I have always felt from the start that the staff took the time to get to know my mum as a person, they treat her with respect and do everything they can to meet her needs and make her as comfortable as possible. I would certainly recommend Cottingley Hall and have no concerns at all.

Dad moved to Cottingley Hall in October. It was a very difficult decision to make, especially in a pandemic, when we were unable to visit. Whilst I have still not been able to go inside, the staff have been very good at keeping in touch with me and giving me regular updates on Dad’s progress. I have also been able to do several window visits. Dad has been quite unwell since moving in to Cottingley Hall which I know has impacted on how he has settled. The staff have been great at supporting him through an incredibly challenging time, liaising with doctors and other health professionals and keeping family informed of reviews and outcomes. Cottingley Hall feels like a very friendly home and the facilities are beautiful, I can’t wait to be able to come inside, see Dad in person and meet everyone face to face. In the meantime I know that the staff team are doing everything they can to keep Dad safe and support his physical and emotional well-being. I thank each and every one of the team.

Our friend took a little while to settle in, but the care and concern of the staff overcame her over-independence, and their cheerfulness enabled her to reach her centenary with safety and dignity - and despite Covid. Her 100th was celebrated in style with cake and balloons and singing, clutching her card from the Queen whom she greatly admired.

I've never felt a time in my life before moving into this care home where I have felt I have had so many friends. I have made so many friends in the staff and residents I feel like every day is a new adventure. I would recommend this care home to anyone, I feel at home. The managerial side know their work well, the care staff are caring and that includes the night staff. It is my home.

My mother has a relatively rare health condition with lots of complex needs. The home have been very good in communicating with me and the specialist nurses, as well as coming up with their own ideas and implementing different treatment plans and other ways to make my mum's life more comfortable and enjoyable. I’m a Registered Home Manager and have worked in care since 2016. I previously worked as a Clinical Deputy Manager, which gave me a strong foundation in leadership, compliance, and delivering high-quality care. With a clinical background as a nurse, I’ve naturally progressed within the care home sector, building experience across resident care, safeguarding, and medication management. This journey has shaped my passion for leading teams to deliver safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.

What I enjoy most about working in care is the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives every day. Supporting residents to live with dignity and comfort is incredibly rewarding, and I value the strong relationships built with residents, families, and colleagues.

Outside of work, I’m very family-oriented and have two young daughters, which has strengthened my empathy and patience. I enjoy spending time outdoors, focusing on well-being, and continuing my personal and professional development.
