Staff at Lindley Grange offer a professional and friendly nursing care service to people living with dementia. Care plans are also provided to people who are looking for convalescence and respite and to those who require palliative care.

This purpose-built home has been carefully designed to provide high quality accommodation and facilities. All bedrooms are ensuite and have a 24 hour call system.

Within walking distance to nearby village Lindley, the home is on the main bus route to Huddersfield, a short 2 minute walk from the home with buses every 10 minutes throughout the day and every 20 mins on a Sunday, making the home easily accessible for visiting friends and family.

Local amenities such as shops, café, opticians and pub are a short walk from the home as well as the local hospital, GP, library and local parks.

The on-site chef works hard to cater for each resident’s dietary needs and provides a hot and cold option at every mealtime. A personalised birthday cake is always made for residents’ birthdays.

The home provides a seven days a week activity programme which includes trips out to the local village, music therapy every fortnight, themed events such as cruise ship and Wimbledon to name a few, flower arranging, armchair exercises and reminiscence activities. There is always something going on at Lindley Grange.

Friends and family are always welcome to join any of the activities.

Care is second to none. Staff are friendly and professional. Mum is comfortable and well looked after. After visiting around 10 different homes, Lindley Grange was head and shoulders above the others, offering invaluable peace of mind for my Mum's well being.

My husband was admitted to Lindley Grange in March 2019 after 13 weeks in an acute ward in a nearby hospital. Everyone was very welcoming and it took us a while to settle in. My husband had never been ill in his life and found it very confusing initially but everyone was very caring and gradually he
settled in. The meals are very good and my husband enjoys them. There are many varied activities every day and while the residents are encouraged to join in, nobody is forced to. I am entirely happy with Lindley Grange and as a qualified nursing professional, if I had any doubts about anything I would speak up. When lockdown isn't on, relatives are encouraged to come into the home especially when outside entertainment is on.

Lindley Grange nurses, care workers and all staff are a team of amazing people, professional at all times, who go above and beyond. I would say they are family to each other and residents alike. The amount of love and empathy my mum has received from the staff, even in a crisis when the stress has
been unbelievably hard on the staff the residents have been given love and care. The staff are long term, not here one week and gone the next. This in itself tells you everything about the feeling in Lindley Grange, it’s their second home and as I said, they go above and beyond. I would recommend Lindley Grange without hesitation. It’s a very emotional time having a loved one needing more help than you can give not being able to see to their needs is heartbreaking but being able to trust people to care with love, empathy and gentleness is important for all the family and I feel Lindley Grange goes above and beyond. Thank you Lindley Grange.
Reply from Greta Narbutaityte, Customer Adviser at Lindley Grange Care HomeWe hope Lindley Grange Care Home did everything to make the transition as easy as possible, as you said, it's certainly not an easy one to make. Thank you for such kind comments.

Having to put Dad into 24-hour care due to the nature of his illness was such a difficult decision, but also brought a lot of stress, uncertainty and upset, especially for my Mum. Although this is fairly new, we are astounded and so pleased how quickly Dad has settled in, and how content he is. This
is largely due to how the staff treat him and manage his needs, just fantastic. Thank you.

My husband went into Lindley Grange in May 2019. It took a few weeks for him and myself to settle into this new normal. The staff were amazing and tried very hard to put me at ease and I really appreciated it, as it was extremely difficult to accept this situation. Since then things have settled down
ish. The time and effort they give to their daily duties is remarkable. They are all very caring and compassionate, not only towards the residents but also to the residents family members and their other visitors, as they obviously realise having a loved one in care isn’t easy. The staff are all dedicated to treating each resident as an individual and work hard to get to understand their specific needs. There are always lots of activities going on for the residents to get involved in, every effort is made to gently encourage them to join in. I am grateful to every staff member for the quality of care my husband receives from every aspect. Thank you so much.

Words are not enough to describe how amazing the staff at Lindley Grange are. Their care and compassion coupled with their humour have made the last three years whilst my dad has been in their care so much easier. They truly are inspiring and I don't know how I would have got through this time without
their kindness and support.

My dad has been a resident at Lindley Grange since May 2019. He seems to have settled in quite well really. It was a very difficult decision to make in the first place, and despite a couple of teething problems everything seems to be going well, and dad seems happy enough. I think this is because staff
work tirelessly to get everybody involved in activities. There is frequently live music and dancing, and even though dad has been a lot less receptive of music recently, he has absolutely loved the band that has visited a couple of times. The activities coordinator goes above and beyond to think of interesting ways to keep everybody active and socialising, and when I visit I can really see how much everybody really does genuinely care about my dad, my hero. Of course, there are bad days because of his condition, but the staff always seem to be patient and gentle from what I have seen. At least dad always has a smile when talking to the staff, and that says a lot in my opinion

My brother who has vascular dementia has settled well at Lindley Grange. We find all the staff very caring and the atmosphere welcoming an cheerful. The staff work really really hard and always give time to each of the residents. Lots of activities. Yesterday we enjoyed the Ukelele Group. Well done.
Music certainly makes the residents respond and it was lovely to see the happy faces.

clean and well cared for, I have no complaints at all.

Lindley Grange provides an excellent, all-around service. Dad has been under their care for 22 months. He has dementia and suffered a serious stroke. His health is steadily declining but the management and staff are always on top of the situation and regularly discuss and advise on his changing needs.
They not only offer excellent care for dad but provide the necessary support for us, his family. The activity coordinator is constantly raising funds so all residents can enjoy regular trips out and visits by entertainers.
All in all, dad couldn't be cared for in a better place.

My husband was well looked after. He ate his meals and had his medication. The staff all seemed friendly. However, I am slightly disappointed that 2 of my requests were ignored i.e my husband was left in bed at least 2 mornings when I asked for him to be up (I realise he may have said differently!)
and I asked that his clothes be placed in a bag for me to bring home to wash.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.910)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.910) out of 10 for Lindley Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 43 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.910 for Lindley Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (458 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 500 Ratings = 4.91
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lindley Grange Care Home is based on 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 43 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
