A converted private house situated in Edgerton, Cleveland House is a home that boasts both history and charm. With its elegant fireplaces and ornate ceilings, the home provides a comfortable and peaceful place to relax. Residents can enjoy a sunny conservatory as well as a pergola, greenhouse and two sensory gardens.

The home’s dining rooms overlook scenic gardens, though residents can enjoy meals in the privacy of their own bedrooms if they prefer. Each resident's diet is frequently monitored to support good nutrition and personal taste.

I always say if my husband can't live at home with me I wish he could, he couldn't be anywhere better.
We are both looked after! We both enjoy all the activities too.

Staff across all the different roles at Cleveland House are very kind and friendly. They treat residents with respect and dignity, and go out of their way to make them feel special.
The residents relatives and guests are made to feel very welcome. The home is well maintained, and there are lovely
gardens.

Everybody seems pleasant and helpful every time I visit. My mum does complain about things such as delays in being helped to the toilet but I've never seen these delays. There are quite a few activities to engage in and it depends on whether the resident wants to. My mum often doesn't and stays in her
room quite a bit but she is encouraged to at least have some meals in the dining room. All in all, I find everybody there very helpful during the day and I've never actually seen the night staff since I've been there. My mum says the night staff hardly ever speak when they come into her room and are not too careful sometimes.

I cannot thank the staff at Cleveland House enough for making my mum's Christmas Eve birthday so special. The receptionist set things in motion and the kitchen staff made a lovely hot and cold buffet, provided festive drinks and baked a birthday cake which they brought in with candles lit, singing 'Happy
Birthday' and then one of the carers took a family photo. A room was set aside for the party (20 of us) and everything exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much!

My grandad had a lovely welcome when he came to Cleveland House. His room was welcoming and clean and any requests were met quickly. My grandad has settled in well. He feels safe, well cared for and the staff put a smile on his face.

My dad had stayed at Cleveland House, and he asked if he could go and have his other two weeks respite. He had only been there a couple of days, and he asked if he could stay there full-time. I spoke with the home, and along with the social worker, I was able to start and put plans in place. Within
three days, I was having a meeting with the home and social worker to start the ball rolling. I had to ask the home for some help, and the care home manager and regional manager could not have done anything more. They have been able to make my dad a very happy man as he is able to stay at Cleveland House full-time.
Dad has been in the home for about three weeks, and the difference in him is outstanding. He is happier in himself, and his social interaction is as near as I have seen it in a long time. He's eating well, which is another improvement. My dad has health conditions, and the chef and staff accommodate this for him.
A massive big thank you to all the staff at Cleveland House.

Don't put your elderly relatives here.
My Grandad's death wasn't by his stomach cancer, it was from Covid that he got from the care home he was put in, he was only there for 2 weeks. Bad oral care then trying to blame him for leaving a soiled pair of his clothes on his bed when he doesn't even have
the energy to stand up on his own, let alone take his own pants off. I am really upset with the lack of care he had at Cleveland House Care Home in Huddersfield, it was disgusting, no sympathy either when he passed. If the care home had better infection control I may have had longer with him.

My relative was assessed and we were informed that the home could meet my father-in-law's End of Life nursing care needs. Sadly however this did not meet our expectations, neither did the basic nursing care.
There was a distinct lack of communication between staff and relatives which resulted in the
family having very little time to spend before he died. Hospitality was not offered by way of staying with our relative whose health visibly had deteriorated.

One of the better residential homes. In-house staff are very good as are some agency carers but some agency carers are poor and do not know what to do. I have marked food as satisfactory but it is varied. Fishcakes are awful even with a new brand. The bread is damp, and too much steam is injected.

The room is a little dark. The food could have been catered to individual's needs would like to see more options for diabetics and more fruit. Love the day staff, no fault. Night staff need to be more consistent. Would like to see more on the supper trolley.

My mum is 96 and has been in the care home for three years. Sadly her health has deteriorated but she is well looked after and has her meals liquidised.

My mum has been a resident for 3 months. Everyone has made her very welcome and she is well cared for. She is treated with care and listened to. The home is maintained to a high standard and all staff are professional and helpful.
