Carr Gate care HOme made my dad feel at home from the moment he arrived. Their approach to caring is totally individual and personal and my dad's experience was first rate. Many thanks, Carr gate.

Our mum lived at the home from August 2019. The home provided a family atmosphere with a high level of care and dignity from all staff. Facilities included a good mix of activities and entertainment. Rooms of a good standard. The home also offered a good line of communication to the family during challenging times (COVID-19). Would definitely recommend it. From the family of a late resident living in the residential dementia unit.

It's my belief that staff did not turn/change mum's position over the 48 hours of her being bed-ridden as no turning charts were completed by staff.

Rooms look a bit tired, but appreciate this was just a short term stay.

Everything about this care home is first class. My mother is so happy and content and safe here, which gives me total peace of mind.

Staff gave 110 per cent all the time and was so friendly and felt like you were with friends, not in a home you could ask them anything.

My mum was in the nursing section of the care home. The rooms and facilities were excellent, very good standard (like a home) and very clean. My mum didn't leave her room due to her illness, therefore sometimes, she was forgotten about with food and drink and sometimes it was cold when it reached her. The service my mum received sometimes depended on which staff were working that day, although everyone was polite and caring with my mum only certain staff bathed, washed her and checked up on her. I marked this as excellent due to 4 specific staff members and how amazing they were. I really felt that they genuinely cared so much about my mum and it made me feel at ease when I wasn't there and they were working that day. Also, the other reason I scored as excellent was the care and patience the staff showed towards my dad while he was spending every day with my mum - it was brilliant.

My concern is the state of the building, the central heating is unreliable, there isn't any heating in the bathroom. Some of the rooms are quite small.

The window frames need attention, some don't open.

On a positive note, nobody ever says 'no you can't do that'. All staff are very caring. Well done!

My mother is in Carr Gate nursing home. They recently got in a brand new management team. I am more than impressed with the massive difference that this new team has had on the overall quality of the home. The care is outstanding, compassionate and individualised. Staffing is consistent and attends to each individual resident’s needs. I am informed on a very regular basis about mum’s well-being. I have peace of mind knowing that my mother is getting the best quality care. The home itself is cosy, clean and very welcoming. Thank you to all the nurses, carers, staff and management at Carr Gate!

I found the home warm and welcoming. Management greeted me on arrival and offered refreshments. I looked around the home and found it to be well presented, clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and smiling, rooms were nicely set up and big and roomy.

I would recommend this home to anyone.

My mum was a resident at Carr Gate and the care she received was outstanding. She was treated with dignity at all times and especially in her final days.

Recently visited the home and my first impressions are good, the home is clean, tidy and pleasant. Management was friendly, approachable and were happy to speak to me. On arrival, I was offered refreshments and fresh cakes baked that day. Music playing on the units and residents seen laughing and smiling with staff. Nothing is ever too much for the care staff, they are friendly and helpful, although they have a lot to do. Lovely home and nice people.

From arrival to the end the staff were as good as could possibly be under the circumstances.

Clean, warm, orderly, pleasant staff, especially the manager.

Generally, the service provided was very good. The staff, in particular, were for the most part excellent. There were problems now and then as there was not enough staff to do what was expected of them.

Looking forward to going back home. I have been looked after well here and enjoyed it.
