Westfield Park Care Home provides high-quality care in a luxury environment. Facilities across the Home include The Westfield Arms (an in house pub), hair and beauty spas, cinema room, tea room and an artificial bowls green.

The home operates as two units, the new build Home provides residential care and The Haven providing specialist dementia care. Both units provide a respite room and day care spaces also. The Haven includes its own dining and lounge areas, including an activity room, tea room and cinema, with residents supported by a dedicated dementia care team and manager.

All the bedrooms have full en-suite wet rooms. The social facilities at the home include a full beauty salon, large activities room, an artificial outdoor bowls pitch, an in-house pub called Westfield Arms, tea room, a shop called Sweets & Treats for all of life's essentials and a cinema room. These facilities are utilised by visiting friends and families and also within the activity programme. Remaining active and stimulated is a big part of the care plan for each resident at Westfield Park and there is a team of activity and social event coordinators across both homes who provide activities 7 days a week, from in house entertainment and one on ones to trips out to Castle Howard or the beach at Bridlington.

My father has been a resident for 2-years, and in that time, we have seen his needs steadily increase, yet the home has been equal to supporting through every problem, providing compassionate care. The staff have provided a wonderful caring environment, promoting appropriate social engagement and activities
to accommodate the interests of my father as well as other residents. Considering that they have done all this on top of all the current difficulties, I cannot commend them enough.

My comments are quite simple; I would only have my wife in a residential home that had the right requirements for her.


The staff are well trained; they are caring/polite/willing, they are always ready to listen and to help the residents together with relatives.


At this present time due to the

virus, the whole of the staff are under extreme stress, and yet, they still have the love and care to go about there duties looking after our loved ones.

I think they are coping very well with the Coronavirus restrictions and care greatly about the welfare for all the residents. The room we come to visit Mum is divided by a Perspex door, so we can talk, and she can see us, although she finds it frustrating at times. I find it great comfort to see Mum
is ok and looking well. All the staff very friendly and take time to explain (numerous times) why the door is there and why masks have to be worn. In “normal” times when I visit Mum, the home is always clean and smells fresh; her room is lovely and looks into a well-tended pretty courtyard.

My Mum says she feels happy and safe in the home. The visiting room has been very helpful to stay connected to Mum. The staff have managed covid-19 very well in the home, isolating patients immediately they contracted coronavirus and keeping floors separate.

My mother has been a resident of Westfield for almost 3 years. Throughout this time, management and staff have engaged with us to plan and implement activities and care to suit mother's needs as her requirements have changed over time. From this interaction, I know that she is receiving the best possible
care in what is a very pleasant environment. During the time she has been a resident, I have visited frequently and have always been met with friendly and attentive staff and management, which is reflected in the care afforded to my mother's wellbeing and happy disposition. I am sure this extends to all residents and their relatives and friends. Since the coronavirus lockdown, I can only congratulate the staff for having coped under extremely challenging conditions in maintaining the usual high standards of care whilst keeping the virus at bay, thus confirming the high quality of safety and security procedures adopted by all.

Our mother spent the final 19 days of her life at Westfield Park and we simply cannot thank the management and entire team enough for the excellent care, respect and kindness she received. We were confident that she was in a safe and secure environment and that she was receiving the best possible care
along with outside medical assistance when required. The en-suite bedrooms were spacious and attractive as were the public rooms. All the facilities were excellent and a very high standard of hygiene and cleanliness was maintained. We, of course, miss our mother very much but take comfort knowing that during her final days she could not have been in a more pleasant or peaceful home than at Westfield Park.
In addition to the care our mother received, we were over-whelmed - but very appreciative - of the kindness shown towards us as she approached her end of life. The support and generosity we received certainly helped us cope with the sad loss of our mother.

Mum has been at Westfield Park for over three years now. I have been delighted with the standard of care throughout that time. The staff work so hard at ensuring Mum's needs are met and remain cheerful at all times. The way the staff speak to me and my mum, treating us as friends and making time for
us, is wonderful. They are always busy yet never wanting to rush the residents and when Mum is in need of their time then they always provide it.

Westfield Park is a first-class home in normal circumstances but has excelled itself during the present Covid crisis.
Thanks to the individual home managers, senior management and directors of Yorkare Homes implementing early exemplary procedures, and supporting not only their staff and families but
residents families as well, the team at Westfield Park have been able to safely carry out their duties providing a high level of care day in day out, always cheerful and going the extra mile to make sure none of their residents felt frightened, isolated or lonely.
Yes, I have been worried, but never once have I doubted that my father was in the right place, being cared for by the right people. I and my family feel very, very lucky that he is a resident at Westfield Park. I have no hesitation in recommending this first-class home where residents and not just residents, but part of a bigger family.

I cannot sing the praises of the management and staff at Westfield Park Care Home enough during this Covid-19 outbreak. The dedication and care they are giving to the residents, including both my aunts, during this crisis is nothing but amazing. Staff are living in the home for long periods despite
them having their own families at home, they are providing regular updates to families, telephone and video calls to put everyone’s mind at ease. There can’t be many homes in the country who haven’t had any Covid cases and that must be down to the measures they have taken and are still taking to looks after everyone. It’s hard not seeing family for over eight weeks now but their decision to lock down the home early must have a lot to do with it. Let’s hope that continues.

My husband moved into Westfield Park in October 2018. From this time he has been treated with the utmost respect and dignity. The staff are extremely knowledgeable in regards to him as a person, his diagnosis and the myriad of presenting symptoms. They are proactive in approaching under professional
services in accessing additional support services as and when required. At all times keeping family up to date with his progress. The staff also have in-depth knowledge of the legislative framework which supports their professional, person-centred practice and maintains my husband's wellbeing. The home is purposeful whilst being homely and welcoming. My husband is extremely settled and content.

My mum went in for respite but ended up staying 6 months due to her deterioration. I found the staff to be lovely and helpful although thought there wasn't enough of them as often when I looked for someone I could not find anyone. I did note that on one occasion my mum had been left in the bathroom
for at least 20 minutes, if not longer but that's how long it was from me finding her like that to staff coming back, although I had already helped her back into her chair. Due to deterioration management wanted to move her to another place which we were not keen on so wasn't sure what to do. After an independent social worker visited, she advised us that Mum would be better off in a smaller home so we took her advice and found somewhere we thought more suitable.
Laundry regularly went missing and 2 pairs of spectacles, whilst in the care at Westfield and these have never been found so have now had to purchase new ones at our cost as a claims form was requested but never forthcoming.

Quite recently my husband started daycare twice a week and he has settled in really well. It gives me time for myself to recharge my batteries and I know he is being looked after very well. All the staff have been friendly and caring, making us feel welcome when we arrive. I trust them to make his stay
a happy one. The management are very approachable and are more than willing to help making us feel we are not just a number.

My mam has been on the Haven Unit since November and she calls it her sanctuary. The staff encourage my mam to maintain her independence which enables her to express her personality. They always treat my mam with respect and in a way that maintains her dignity. The home and grounds are immaculate and
we are always made welcome when we visit. I work in the care profession myself and have been impressed by the high standard of care I have witnessed at the home.
