On behalf of myself and my wife I cannot thank Mount Vale enough for the care they gave to my wife during the respite period she spent with them on Memory Lane.
My wife arrived at Mount Vale to convalesce after a period in hospital as a result of a bad experience in another care home. It was not practical to provide the nursing she required at home. As a result I was very apprehensive about further care but from the moment I went into Mount Vale I was reassured that they could demonstrate they had the experience to provide the care required. I was also immediately struck by the welcoming and 'homely' atmosphere of the lovely building and grounds.

The care my wife received in her time there was wonderful, the team were just brilliant, very attentive to her needs and the specific care she required. I would also like to thank them all for the support they provided to me at a difficult time - I was made so welcome by everyone

My friend has been a resident at Mount Vale in Northallerton since Dec 2025..She had isolated herself at home since COVID began. She had become agoraphobic and very confused. She was unable to look after herself and had been neglectful of her safety, her hygiene and her animals. I brought her to Mount Vale purely for respite, but since being there she has improved dramatically to the point she has realised herself that she is unable to look after herself and maintain her dignity and standards of living alone at home. She is now a permanent resident and is very well cared for. Her mental health has improved 100%, she is always clean and well presented. The food is amazing with a wide variety of options to suit each individual. Nothing is a problem.
The care staff are amazing. They know every residents needs and quirks. Always polite, smiling and engaging with residents and visitors.

I can rest knowing my friend is in good hands and I feel part of a large extended loving family .

Since my mother in law has been in Mount vale, she has been extremely happy. The staff are really helpful, Louise has helped her to do lots of activities to keep her active. Tracy has been very helpful when doing her meals. When she has guests Tracy helps with the setting of the table and making sure she has everything she needs. We are really grateful to Tracy for going above and beyond with her helpfulness.

Dad has been part of the Memory Lane community since 2024 following hospital discharge. They helped him regain his strength / mobility, facilitated his need to 'work' / have 'meetings' and relentless walking and nosiness, managing the conflict that causes sensitively.
They work with his 1:1 carers reporting rare sub-par care so we can address it. They encourage Mum eating their lovely food with Dad. They facilitate his regular haircuts and podiatry and ensure he regularly sees the nurse from his GP practice and community dentist.
They ring to let me know about his falls and have referred him to the falls team even though Dad won't comply with any advice they give! They try to get him to stay still by feeding him and have moved his room so he is closer to the heart of the unit for closer monitoring.

As a family we are so thankful to Trudi and every single one of her team for their care and compassion to Dad, his family and friends. Not fair to single anyone out as all wonderful!

I can not thank Mount Vale enough for their excellent care of our father on Memory Lane. Every member of staff has a wonderful way of relating/caring with every resident - from a smile, to a handshake, or a cheerful smile/hello, a gentle way of getting him to sit him down or lie down on the bed. Belind, kind lovely lady, shabhu, Justin, Monata, Susie, Shaun (maintenance - who coaxed a resident back into Memory Lane). The wonderful housekeeper, and all the carers and nurses who gently smile encouragement or kindly smile as you walk by, or kindly empathise with you and gently take over the intimate/personal care in a professional way so that their daughter/family don't have to. The grounds person/gardener who make the gardens so cheerful/relaxed. Sarah - for always organising lots of lovely activities. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful team. Thank you to you all your kind care, support & making it a very happy/safe place for all residents.

My mother-in-law is a resident at Mount Vale in Northallerton. It is a very welcoming and caring home. The staff are very attentive and approachable. She is very well cared for which gives the family peace of mind. The rooms, common areas, dining room and sitting areas are very well maintained and attractive. The meals are wonderful. The activities for the residents are varied and most enjoyable. As a visitor to Mount Vale I am always made to feel welcome and listened to. It is an ideal home for mother-in-law and very convenient to town and activity centres and shopping. I highly value the placement at Mount Vale and highly recommend it for those needing a high quality care home.

My mother arrived at Mount Vale. Shortly before her 101st birthday, on 4th February, she had been very ill. She has improved since arriving. The staff have been very caring and supportive of my mother's needs. They gave her a marvellous Birthday. The children from the playschool sang her Happy Birthday & they also organised balloons and cakes and many cards and flowers. She was overwhelmed!

This was an excellent care home for my father, for the last few days of his life. He was 96 and had mild dementia and by the time he got to the home, he was cheerful, but ready to go.
The staff were fantastic - discreet, caring, attentive and highly sympathetic. You could not ask for more.

The care home itself is very clean and well maintained: it is clearly a well-managed property with staff who feel sufficiently rewarded to reflect kindness and compassion to the residents.

Susan Carter
Susan CarterJob Title Senior General ManagerJoined 2026

Hi, I’m Sue.

I began my career in care in the early 1990s, starting as a Care Assistant. Over the years, I have progressed through various roles, including a Regional Support role, and have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience within the care sector. I have had the privilege of managing multiple homes, including working as a turnaround manager.

I am passionate about building strong teams and creating a positive environment where residents can live their best lives. Ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of care and have the best possible experience is something I truly care about.

Outside of work, I am a proud mum and have two dogs who bring lots of joy to my life. I enjoy crocheting and can never resist buying more wool! I also love going to the pictures every week and enjoy listening to music.

I feel incredibly proud of my career in care and remain passionate about making a difference to the lives of residents, their families and the teams I work with.

Camille Jomento
Camille JomentoJob Title Deputy ManagerJoined 2026

Hi, I’m Camille, Deputy Manager and Registered Nurse at Mount Vale Care Home.

I used to work in a different care home as a nurse, supporting residents with a variety of nursing and complex care needs. My experience in care has taught me that good nursing isn’t just about medications, observations and care plans; it’s about knowing the person behind them. Everyone has a story, and I’ve always enjoyed getting to know it.

One of my favourite parts of my role is leading and supporting our clinical team. I love coaching people, sharing knowledge and seeing someone grow in confidence. I try to be the person I wish I’d had around when I was learning: someone approachable who will help rather than make you afraid to ask questions.

I also genuinely enjoy spending time with our residents and learning about who they were before they came to live with us. They’ve had careers, families, adventures, romances, mischief and entire lives before we ever met them. Sometimes their stories are much more interesting than anything I could find on Netflix!

Outside of work, I’m a committed documentary binge-watcher, particularly anything involving true crime, investigations, war, soldiers or medicine. I also love House and Grey’s Anatomy. Apparently, working in healthcare all day and then coming home to watch fictional healthcare is my idea of switching off! On a good day, you may also find me in Wetherspoons.

I don’t have pets of my own, but I’ve managed to acquire several honorary ones! I’m friends with Ruby, a Spaniel–Black Labrador cross, and I’m the proud god-fur-parent to two cats, Whiskey and Kobe.

I take my work and responsibilities seriously, but I don’t think that means we have to be serious all the time. Care can be challenging, and sometimes a little kindness, a good conversation, and the right joke at the right time can completely change someone’s day.

At heart, I’m a people person. Whether I’m supporting a resident, coaching a colleague, solving a problem or simply making someone smile

I truly enjoy my role and love getting to know our residents, learning about their lives, interests and experiences. Building meaningful relationships with residents and making a positive difference to their day is something I find especially rewarding.

Hi, I’m Shaki, a Healthcare Assistant at Mount Vale Care Home.

Before joining Mount Vale, I worked as an agency support worker and, before that, as an administrative officer in my home country. These roles gave me valuable experience supporting others, which I have been able to bring into my role at Mount Vale.

I really enjoy getting to know our residents and spending time with them. Building positive relationships and being there to support people is something I find very rewarding, and I believe that kindness can make a real difference, especially when someone is going through a difficult time.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I also love reading and jogging, which helps me stay active and fit.

I don’t have a particular pet, but I do enjoy watching squirrels from afar! I’m also someone who genuinely enjoys helping people who may be struggling or in need of support, and I believe that everyone deserves kindness and understanding.
