All the staff have worked really hard to help my mum settle in and recover more mobility.
I feel that she is safe and well looked after.
She has a lovely, spacious room, kind staff helping her and they keep me well informed when I can't visit in person. It is a difficult transition for Mum, but
everyone is very gentle and considerate. Thank you!

My husband has been a resident of Aspen Court Moore Street Gateshead for the last 20 months. He has settled well and seems happy in his environment now after a very difficult start due to late-stage dementia. The fact that he has now settled down is due to the marvellous staff looking after him. I can't
thank them enough. The manager has been very helpful to me and listens to any problems that I have discussed with her and deals with them promptly and very efficiently. Visiting my husband is always a pleasure now after the past awful Covid months. Thanks so much to the manager and the wonderful carers at Aspen.

Dad has been in the care home for several years now. He has complex needs and sometimes displays very challenging behaviour. The entire team have been wonderful with him. He feels and acts like this is home. They understand the small things that help calm him and make him feel safe. Medication is never
their first option if interventions are needed. They have supported Dad and all of us during the Covid crisis, keeping him safe and out of the hospital. We would highly recommend this place to other families.

My mother was in this home for over a year and it was shockingly bad. The manager is an absolute disgrace with a volatile, nasty, horrible nature. I was banned from visiting my mam several times because she didn't like my 'manner' or the 'false' accusations made by her staff against me to defend themselves.

I would strongly recommend that nobody puts their loved ones into this horrible, uncaring, and as admitted by one of their nurses "negligent" home. All they are interested in is money, and when my mother passed away they couldn't wait to fill the room fast enough.
Absolutely dreadful, avoid.

We at Aspen Court appreciate feedback as it helps us to achieve our consistently GOOD service level (CQC).
In response to your review, I as a manager have a duty of care to protect our residents and provide a safe working environment for staff.
First and foremost residents must be able to go about their day-to-day lives in the knowledge that they are safe and protected whilst in our care.
Our staff are trained to act in the best interests of our residents, which involves fostering close working relationships with families and friends and we do our utmost to accommodate any requests.
But requests and behaviours should not infringe, disadvantage or upset our service users as if we were to allow this, it would be morally wrong and in breach of the CQC regulations.
Our staff, just as NHS staff, also have the right to come to work and carry out their duties in line with the best interests of service users and without having to endure the unreasonable behaviour of others.

The care my father received was outstanding. All the staff were fantastic. On the last day of my dad's life, the on-duty nurse explained everything to me and the staff were a massive support to me that day and throughout his whole stay there.

I was very anxious about my mother going into care but she is safe and well. Her mobility very quickly improved dramatically. The staff seem lovely, the home is spotless and there's no smell. The rooms and en suites are spacious and pleasant. On the whole, I am very pleased with my mother's care. The
admin could be improved - eg I once went to visit only to find the home in covid lockdown but no one had informed me. I had to prompt the home to get my mother's hearing aids replaced - and she is even more isolated without them. I wish more effort could be made in relation to activities - I realise this is difficult but my mother just seems to be sitting around all day.

My mother-in-law was taken to Aspen Court (Gateshead) on 16/12/21. My wife and I live in Oxfordshire. From the very first day, the care home manager has been in contact with us. The head of care staff and so many more, have gone beyond help and assistance to my wife and I. The care all the staff (too
many to mention) have given to my mother has opened our eyes to how they care. They give my mother everything and really pamper her every need. The care home is beautifully clean with all procedures in place for COVID. My wife and I know my mother is in safe hands 24/7. If anyone reads this review please consider this facility. They phone us with updates constantly which is great reassurance and a great weight off our shoulders as we live 300 miles away. A massive thank you to you all.

My mother has only been a resident for a short period, she has settled in well and seems happy. The staff and management are always there for a chat or to answer any questions you have. I have found them very helpful and friendly. Very happy with their excellent care.

Excellent care service, our mother was admitted into care setting following Covid in 2020.
The staff are caring, cheerful, responsive, to individual needs. Our mother has difficult and challenging behaviours as a result of Lewy body dementia, and the staff treat her with dignity enabling and individually
making this transition to care somewhat easier for the family.

This care home is really good, has a great standard of care. My mam feels safe and secure and well respected, and always treated with dignity. And also loves to join in with the activities which are good. And the management and staff are always there if you need a chat. And the visits are always well

My family and I are very happy that our Aunt has settled so well at Aspen Court and with the care she has received. In addition, the individual rooms are excellent and allow for a good level of personalisation. I have found all staff I have had contact with to be professional, knowledgeable and caring.

Carers and nursing staff always very caring and attentive. Nursing staff competent and knowledgeable. I always feel my dad is cared for and his needs met, even though they are extremely busy.
