I 100% recommend Victoria House Care Home!
After a brief negative stay in a different home, my dad has become his happy self again here!
The staff are warm, friendly and very accommodating with so much patience you would think they were looking after family!
I am so grateful for the care they give him when it became too hard for me to give alone!
Thank you!
Victoria House is so homely, comforting and very peaceful. It is so clean and fresh and never has a thing out of place!

Again, 100% recommend for your loved ones to be treated like one of the family, brings tears to my eyes!

Great service provided by staff. I know my parents are well looked after, which makes life much easier for me as I don't have any worries regarding their care.

I would like to see more evidence of activities which take place, but other than this, I would highly recommend Victoria House to anyone looking for a care home for a loved one.

When visiting, we have always found our mother to be very well cared for, clean, tidy and the staff are attentive to her needs. The food is of a high standard with a varied menu. Her room and the whole building is spotless and kept to a very high standard with a very friendly and attentive staff. All in all, first class.

The staff work very hard to care for my mother, who is now 96years old and has been a resident for almost four years. Whenever I have visited her she has been clean and tidy and comfortable. Whenever I have seen her with members of the staff, she has always been happy to see them and to talk to them. I know that the staff are now having to give her a lot of assistance with her eating and she seems to welcome that.

My mum recently came here, waiting to be assessed, seemed friendly on visits. Rooms are nice, had a few issues with laundry not being returned, items of clothes going missing, few other issues. I'm my mum's main carer but it wasn't noted for a while after so only window visits. My biggest issue is the staff rotate around the units so there is no continuity of care, and I think for people with this cruel disease it's a must. It's been five months now and I still don't know half the staff, I don't know how the residents are supposed to be settled. There are still a few issues that I hope to get sorted. I don't want to have to think about moving my mam, as the place is nice, and I don't want to upheave her again, and I'm sure things could be changed for the better and hope things are reviewed.

Thank you for your review. Our Laundry Team at Victoria House are fairly new in post, however, are now settling into their new roles. Hopefully, you will be able to see some positive changes moving forward. We do try to ensure that staff are familiar with all Residents, we do this by rotating...

Care and attention are very good. My sister seems happy and settled here. Staff are always helpful, caring and polite. Although I haven't seen her room yet, due to the current restrictions. I have seen through the window that it's comfortable and clean. Visits have always been safely conducted and very pleasant. I would highly recommend this care home.

Mum was admitted for respite during lockdown. She settled very quickly and made friends (after the quarantine period), and she was happy to stay on a permanent basis as she felt safer, valued and looked after. Previously she insisted on her independence and living alone - although she couldn't manage on her own. She always refused any discussion of going into residential care, but Victoria House converted her!

Both my mum and dad are in this home but on separate wings. The home have kept me informed and involved in the care of my parents and the staff have been professional, courteous, supportive and helpful. The home have kept my parents safe, communicated well with family members and have begun much welcomed, divide secure, indoor visits as well as window visits. When I have been inside the home, the environment and the staff have been warm and welcoming, the home was clean, tidy and odour free and the residents seemed happy and well engaged.

Today was the first day I was allowed inside the home to visit my mother. The whole process was well organised with a high degree of professionalism. You could clearly see that the staff were adhering to the Covid rules and ensuring safety to all parties. My mam was in high spirits, (desperate for a haircut) but loved our time that we had together. I am so excited for my next inside visit and hopefully, it won’t be too long before I can take her out again for coffee and cake. Many thanks to the team at Victoria for all the care and hard work that you are doing.

I would like to pass on my and my families appreciation to all the staff at Victoria House care home. They have truly had a difficult time of it but have yet managed to maintain a high level of service, good communication and a positive attitude. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and within these difficult constraints, Mam always appears to be well looked after, most certainly well-fed and happy in her general demeanor. Many thanks and well done.

My father was admitted to Victoria House last year. The Manager went out of her way to keep our family informed of the procedure. My father had been in hospital beforehand and due to the current pandemic, no-one had been able to visit him. The staff at Victoria House attended to his immediate needs, for example, a haircut, ensuring he got the food he likes. At Christmas, the manager arranged a video call for our family. During a recent illness, my father was admitted to hospital, again our family was kept fully appraised of his condition and his return to the home. This is particularly important for me as I live in Australia. I commend the manager for her excellent communication, with her leadership and experience. I have great confidence regarding the safety and well-being of my father and that he is being treated with respect and dignity.

Our mum needed care after being hospitalised following a fall at home. What was initially meant to be a short-term need became a longer-term one and our mum spent 6 months at Victoria House. The staff were great with her and always tried to keep her spirits up. Mum is a really fussy eater and if the main menu options weren't to her liking, the care staff or one of the cooks would make a sandwich or an omelette to make sure she was able to have something to eat. They also tried to facilitate visits in spite of the challenges of Covid. We were able to arrange permanent care at another home which is closer to where mum lived, making it easier for friends and family to visit (eventually!). Victoria House arranged the transfer with the new home and everything went really smoothly. Thanks to everyone at Victoria House for making our mum comfortable and feeling welcome.

My dad was welcomed into the home and the staff were friendly and helpful. My dad tells me they are caring. He has a comfortable room and has been able to take some of his own things. The manager has gone out of her way to keep in touch and reassure me as my dad is distant from where I live.
