Trafalgar Park Care Home, located in the village of Nelson, near Caerphilly, provides high quality personalised residential, nursing and dementia care to older people.

The purpose-built friendly and welcoming care home has a café, large landscaped garden and patio, pub, tea room, hair salon and quiet room. There is also a range of comfortable en-suite bedrooms, suitable to all tastes.

On top of this, Trafalgar Park boasts a selection of specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to share meals with fellow residents or welcome family and friends for those special occasions. The catering team prides itself on ensuring that each meal is an enjoyable experience for every resident and visitor, offering a varied and delicious menu.

My mother is happy and feels safe. She loves the program of entertainment that this home offers. Myself and my family like the continuity of the staff at the home, we believe that it is so important for all residents. Any queries we have concerning my mum are always dealt with very quickly. After finding
this home for mum 3 years ago we as a family like to think that we found a gem of a place in Trafalgar Park Care home.

Having to make the decision to place anyone within the care system, especially your mum, is both a very emotional and stressful decision but Trafalgar Park put all our concerns and worries at ease because they were very welcoming, openly informative and caring to our needs. Dementia is a terrible illness
but all the staff have always been very supportive and caring in treating her with utmost dignity in very trying circumstances. The home has fantastic facilities, her room is superb, the dining and lounge areas are first-class and also there are daily activities for everyone. We are always kept well informed of any issues which are dealt with in a timely, efficient and caring manner.
We would highly recommend Trafalgar Park Care Home.

Cannot fault the care my aunt receives.
Well cared for, and the room is spotless.
All the staff are excellent.
Home is clean, and food is excellent too.

The managers and staff are excellent, most helpful and nothing is too much trouble. My husband has only been in your care for a short time. This care has improved his health and I am so pleased how he has adjusted to you all. This home is so peaceful. I hope everyone working here will keep on doing

Residents are treated with a high level of kindness by all the staff.

My mother has been in care for two and a half years. Her condition is progressively deteriorating. Trafalgar Park Care staff do a good job of looking after her and making sure that she is comfortable.

Since my dad has been here it has been brilliant, the staff have been amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Every room is lovely and clean. The food looks lovely and my dad enjoys it very much. Could not complain.

As at 9/9/19, my aunt has stated that there has only been activities once a day. She has been disappointed that there hasn't been more.
She would also prefer to have a handrail fitted to bed to make it easier to get out of bed.
Overall experience on choosing the home and the care my aunty has received
has been very good.

This care home is by far the best, as I have recently looked around for a placement for my mother. Since she has been at TP she has gained weight and is relatively happy. She keeps saying she wants to return home but unfortunately she is not able to. She has been a TP for 2 and a half months and I am

My husband has been a resident of Trafalgar Park for about four years, coming to terms with him having to stay in a care home was not easy for my husband and myself to except, but thanks to the staff and management who were very patient and understanding the move was made a lot easier, the staff found
out what he liked and disliked and always tried to make him happy. The care and understanding given to him was amazing, far more than I ever expected. He was always clean and tidy. And always treated with respect and kindness. There were a few members of care staff who always went above and beyond and treated him as a family which made me feel relaxed and happy.
You must be so proud of your staff from the laundry staff, to the cleaners, the kitchen staff, admin, and especially the care staff, hold on to them they are exceptional.
The home is Clean Tidy and well Decorated. Very welcoming for all the residents and families to enjoy, from the coffee lounge to the well-presented gardens.

We as a family, especially his wife and daughters cannot praise the staff enough for the care received by our recently deceased husband, father/grandfather during his short time at Trafalgar Park. He was well looked after and always clean and tidy. The care staff were always very welcoming to us and
respectful and kind to my dad. There were a few members of the care team that went the extra mile. Hopefully, they will know who they are.
It was an extremely difficult decision to move him from his home to the care home, especially from my mother's perspective but was made easier by the staff. The guilt experienced by us all was overwhelming and heartbreaking especially when we heard the words 'I want to come home'.
My father did settle into the routine. It was to be the last few months of his life but we took comfort that he was being looked after and kept informed of any changes, i.e. falls, GP, etc. A big THANK YOU. Keep doing what you do.

Once again, the care given by Trafalgar Park staff is truly amazing. My mother in law spent most of the day in hospital last week, she was allowed home but informed that there would be a long wait, possibly into the night, before an ambulance could take her back to Trafalgar Park. Being told this, the
handyman whose shift had just ended, came back to work, picked up a wheelchair and came to the hospital to bring my mother in law home. This act of kindness is one example of how staff go above and beyond what's expected from them. This kind, thoughtful man is an asset to your company.

My mother was a resident for 18 months. For the last month, she was slowly dying. The care and love given to her by every member of staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, great attention was given to making her p[assing as easy as possible.
Also, the care and attention given to the family
were first rate. We cannot praise the staff enough.

I really appreciate the transparency of this care home. Always an open door policy and a very warm welcome each time. My father is very content and seems much more healthy well fed and happy. Lots to do and keeping residents busy and some good exercise to keep minds busy. Glad to have found such a nice

From the start when two members of staff came to assess my mother-in-law at her home I felt confident that she was in good hands. Since her first day at Trafalgar Park she has been in excellent hands also. The carers and all staff from management to laundry and catering for example just show her general
kindness. I have nothing but praise for their patience and care.

Choosing a care home for your beloved mother is a very difficult and daunting process. After much searching and heart searching we found Trafalgar Park. Friends recommended it and after visiting we decided that was the one.
We have not been disappointed. The standard of care is superb. Everyone in
the home is friendly and residents are treated with dignity and love.
The ensuite rooms are well appointed and standards in the dining room would not be out of place in a very good restaurant.
We would recommend Trafalgar Park whole-heartedly.
