Bankview Care Home is a 65 bed registered care facility specialising in dementia care.

The home is positioned within large, peaceful, wooded grounds and is conveniently located within easy reach of Stirling, Falkirk, Kilsyth and Cumbernauld and enjoys easy access to the M80.

All of the bedrooms have bright and spacious single bed accommodation with en-suite facilities for privacy and convenience. Rooms are located on one level and are complimented by four large lounges and a number of dining facilities, where residents can enjoy home cooked meals and afternoon tea with family and friends.

A varied activities programme is available to residents, and a number of dedicated reminiscence areas are located throughout the home to stimulate the residents' minds, and to help keep their memories from the past alive. The home has built up a fantastic reputation in the local community and often enjoys visits from Bankier Primary School and other neighbourhood friends.

A minibus is also available at the home for regular excursions, trips and visits to places of local interest.

Fees at Bankview will depend on the needs of the prospective resident; more information can be provided by the Service Manager in the home.

Our dad has been in the care home for a year and a half. The home has a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The management, nurses, carers are very approachable and always listen in a professional manner. The food is very good and Dad always enjoys his meals. The staff always inform about Dad's health.
The home is well run and I would recommend Bankview to other families.

As you know care homes are reporting that the Covid-19 pandemic is posing a significant challenge to not only the staff but the residents within the care home. This has called for an unprecedented effort from the care home team in, not only keeping the residents safe but managing the staff in such a
way as to protect them too. It is very obvious that whatever regime is being implemented at Bankview it is working well as they have and continue to keep the virus at the door. Not only has this been achieved but they have kept the residents entertained and healthy through this pandemic. All of this has only been possible due to the professionalism, skill and compassion of all the staff in the home.
In conclusion, Bankview is a truly excellent care home and we hope that the staff continue with their excellent record of great care and as a team manage to get through these very difficult times.

Bankview Care Home during 2020, bought many different challenges for everyone. From my own personal experience, whilst visiting my father, I found the staff were always polite and remained positive. He was well presented and appeared to be well looked after. Sadly however, on 25th Sept 2020 my mother
died in hospital. The manager allows myself and my uncle into the care home to break the news to my father. Every effort was made to keep us safe and the staff were very sympathetic. Visits continued outside, I did however feel that some kind of outside shelter could have been put in place. Also, the intercom system didn't always work terribly well. Overall my experience has been a good one.

My mum was treated like family for the 9 years she spent being cared for by the Bankview staff. Their care and concern for residents is evident in everything they do and the relief it gave to us knowing she wasn't just safe but in caring hands was immeasurable.
I cannot recommend the staff highly
enough. They gave us precious, carefree time to enjoy with Mum which was priceless.

My mum was with the Bankview family for 9 years and during that time her care was exemplary. She was cared for by the staff as if she was a family member, nothing was ever too much for them and they definitely looked after her in a manner beyond anything we could have hoped for. We have been made to
feel so welcome during her stay and even during this last year with lockdown, we’re still contacted on a regular basis. They even made it easy for us to see Mum through her window. We can’t praise them highly enough. Outstanding care.

My darling mum was a resident In Bankview Care Home for 9 years. During her time there, she received generous and gentle care. Her ‘personal’ team adored her and cared for her and they felt like part of our extended family.
I cannot thank or praise Bankview staff enough for the love they showered
on mum.

I would highly recommend this care home to anyone who is thinking about looking for accommodation for their loved ones. My mum has been a resident in Bankview for over 6 years now and the care has been the best I could have ever hoped for. The staff are so professional but also are so friendly and genuinely
treat every resident with care and dignity. The last year has been particularly difficult due to the Covid 19 and not been able to go and visit my mum but I couldn’t trust better staff to look after her for me. They are the only home in Forth Valley that haven’t had any cases of Covid 19 so far and this is down to the staff and the management who have clearly followed all the guidelines and I couldn’t thank them enough. The manager is so approachable and has made some amazing improvements and continues to strive to make Bankview the best Care Home possible. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank each and every carer that has looked after my mum over the years.

My parents have both only recently moved into Bankview. If there have been any issues the staff have phoned to let me know. The staff are always friendly and I feel my parents are being very well looked after. They have put us at ease and we are very impressed with all the procedures put in place due
to Covid.
So glad we got a new place at Bankview, was our number one choice.

Bankview Care Home provides outstanding care for residents both in terms of their physical and psychological needs. It is evident that the staff show care and interest in all residents an treat them as individuals.
They provide a wide range of activities and trips for residents who are able to participate.
Management are friendly and keep the family fully informed. We would be happy to recommend Bankview Care Home to anyone considering a placement for a family member.

The quality of care provided to mum has been exemplary particularly with her medication. The staff have been marvellous. Comfortable and cosy to live in and visit although feel the chairs look 'tired'. Care for people with dementia and sight loss could may be improved with more activities. Senior carer,
management and staff have worked tirelessly to help mum become less agitated and unhappy. She is now more contented and happy and I cannot thank them enough. I am glad she's in Bankview.

My sister in law could not have better care and kindness than that she has in Bankview. The staff cannot do enough for her and are so kind and thoughtful with her. The nursing care is second to none. The manager is always open to talk about any concern or suggestion that we, the relatives, may have.

Mum has been a resident at Bankview for over a year and has been happy and looked after very well. The staff are excellent and know her ways. There is always a lovely friendly atmosphere at Bankview. Plenty of entertainment and always plenty to eat. The room is always clean and tidy and mum is always

Julie Merrick

Julie has 21 years experience in mental health nursing and the health and social care sector.


She began working for Holmes Care Group as a Team Leader in 2007 and was internally promoted to Service Manager in 2011. Julie currently holds the following qualifications:
