Craigbank is a purpose-built Glasgow care home that provides residential dementia care, nursing dementia care, and provision for short-term respite, palliative and convalescence needs.

Consisting of three houses and secure gardens, Craigbank also offers refurbished bedrooms that residents are welcome to personalise to their own tastes.

The home benefits from having its own ‘nutritional champion’ who makes sure all dietary needs and personal preferences are catered for, researching all care needs and illnesses to make sure their diet is nutritious.

Activities are organised to suit abilities and interests, with many visiting entertainers and outings to places of interest, including the local cinema.

My mum has now been in Craigbank Care Home for five months now. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. My mum has settled in well and I can see the staff understand her needs and have got to know her in this time. The home is always clean and residents are always getting plenty of drinks and snacks
in between meal times. It would be nice to see activities within the ward as I have not seen any so far.

We visit my dad regularly but at varied times due to our availability. We have always found my dad clean and well looked after. Staff are available for updates on his activities and his general well-being.

My family and I went to visit my father and the weather was very warm that week, the carers brought my father down from the living room area into the back garden. He was provided with a sun hat also we were offered tea/juice and biscuits. The management offered ice lollies to my young daughters. We
stayed for under an hour, the staff made us feel welcome, were engaging and noticeably made an effort for our visit to be pleasant. We have no concerns as to the level of care my father is receiving.

My wife has been at Craigbank 13 years now, she is very well looked after and the staff are all brilliant at what they do. They are all very caring towards all residents not just my wife. I have never had reason to complain about anything regarding my wife. 10/10.

My father has been in care at Craigbank Care Home since December 2021. Overall the care has been good from the start and we are noticing improvements in both facilities and management where more focused on activities being improved. The staff are very caring and attentive and treat individuals with
respect and dignity. My father is enjoying outings to museums/art galleries and has done some art classes which help stimulate his brain and give him some enjoyment. The only minor complaint is sometimes the state of the room/lost glasses or razors not being charged but I address these concerns with staff at the time and generally resolved them.

My mum has been in Craigbank Care Home for nearly two months and I feel that moving my mum here has been beneficial to my mum's health and well-being. All the staff make us feel welcome, given me support and understanding dully about my mum's needs. When doctors come, they let me know by phone how she

My mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia and was moved from the hospital to another care home but she was deteriorating and they couldn't provide the care she needed. Since moving to Craigbank Care Home she has perked up and is getting more one-to-one care and the staff are all amazing. Very bright
rooms and the place is spotless. Can't fault the place.

Very pleased with care of my mum since she moved to Craigbank in September 2020. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and my mum has settled in really well and seems very happy. Great care has been taken during Covid to protect residents, staff are visitors (when allowed to visit). I would have no
reservations in recommending Craigbank.

Great staff across home, coped brilliantly with regard to Covid and aftermath. Management very approachable and any issues raised, resolved quickly. Only nursing home parent has been in and thankfully got one of the best ones.

Mum has been in Craigbank Care Home for three and a half years. The last sixteen months have been difficult for everyone but the wonderful staff at Craigbank have looked after our relatives so well and kept them as safe as possible. They know their residents well and handle the difficult moods and situations

Dad has settled really well and says he's very happy. At visits, he's always cheerful and has a good connection with the staff. The staff are very accommodating and nothing is ever too much for them, I feel Dad is supported well and the staff really care about his wellbeing.

My dad has settled in really well since he came to Craigbank. He had some problems in his previous care home but there have been no issues since he came here. All staff members are extremely helpful and friendly.

I was able to visit my wife yesterday for the first time since mid-March. As always I found the staff welcoming, cheerful, helpful and positive. The staff know my wife well and know how to calm her when she gets agitated. She has been resident in the home since December 2018 we have never had any cause
to complain.

I have been in the care industry since 1988 and have BSc (Hons) Nursing, and Msc Nursing qualifications.


What excites me most about my role is the relationships I build with residents, families, and colleagues. Outside of work I enjoy hobbies such as writing and taking part in spiritual activities.


My biggest career highlight would be completing a research study on spirituality and spiritual care in the care homes.
