Very pleased with care of my mum since she moved to Craigbank in September 2020. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and my mum has settled in really well and seems very happy. Great care has been taken during Covid to protect residents, staff are visitors (when allowed to visit). I would have no
reservations in recommending Craigbank.
Reply from Paul Lawson, Customer Service Manager at Craigbank Care HomeDear Alexander, thank you so much for taking the time to review Craigbank Care Home and we are delighted that you are so pleased with the care Mum has been receiving over the past year and that she has settled in so well. Mum has been in Craigbank Care Home for three and a half years. The last sixteen months have been difficult for everyone but the wonderful staff at Craigbank have looked after our relatives so well and kept them as safe as possible. They know their residents well and handle the difficult moods and situations
brilliantly. Cannot praise the staff highly enough.

I was able to visit my wife yesterday for the first time since mid-March. As always I found the staff welcoming, cheerful, helpful and positive. The staff know my wife well and know how to calm her when she gets agitated. She has been resident in the home since December 2018 we have never had any cause
to complain.

I find the care home very welcoming. Staff very understanding of residents and family needs, they always have time to chat and listen when I'm visiting my mother. I find it has taken a great weight off my shoulders knowing my mother is cared for and safe. Management do a great job and keep family/relatives
up to date with on-goings st the care home. The refurbishment in the unit my mothers in is very fresh and welcoming.

My experience with this care home is great.
The staff and carers are excellent. The carers are so helpful with the residents and are so caring and devoted to the job they do and no task is any problem to them.
I would recommend this home to friends and family if they required this type of care or
treatment.

I cannot thank the management and the staff of all the different areas of Craigbank for the help and care they give to my brother. My brother was admitted to hospital in January with pneumonia and was very ill but when he returned to Craigbank, you could see a big improvement and this is down to the
staff and management.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.668)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.668) out of 10 for Craigbank Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.668 for Craigbank Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (194 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 274 Ratings = 4.668
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Craigbank Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
