The service provided at Quayside Care Home was second to none. During a stressful, emotional, challenging time, myself and my family were supported and were safe in the knowledge that my mother was receiving the highest level of care. The standard of food has increased immensely, and the staff were lovely, including management!

My gran has settled in well to the care home, all the staff are very caring and go above and beyond, food is very good with plenty of choices. My gran's room is kept very clean due to the hard-working housekeeping staff. There is always lots of activity on to keep my gran occupied, overall I am very happy with Quayside.

My choice of a mood board is Raspberry.

My overall experience is staff are excellent, the bedrooms are very poor, badly need doing and to be told that only two bedrooms are being done is absolutely ridiculous, something needs to be done to them and done very soon, they are so depressing. More meetings are needed about food, information on everything to do with what is going on in the care home.

Thank you for your kind feedback about the staff at Quayside. We are sorry to hear your experience with the standard of the rooms. Our refurbishment is only doing a percentage of rooms at this time, please contact the Home Manager to discuss the refurbishment further.

Happy with care provision. My husband is always clean, tidy and well-dressed and appears happy although he can't tell me. The staff are attentive and when necessary medical attention was quickly called in. The entertainment team work hard to entertain the residents. The proposed refurbishment fell short, not making bedrooms a priority and the proposition of only two being done will cause an avalanche of complaints from relatives.

Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Quayside Care Home

Thank you so much for your feedback about the kind care provided at Quayside Care Home. Unfortunately, the refurbishment plan only covers a small percentage of rooms within each unit at this time. We value your feedback and would be happy to discuss this further.

The food is good - plenty there if you want it (my aunt's words). The nurses are all nice - they take time to talk and to ask how they are, the staff are lovely and hardworking - make sure they get washed. They get a hot bath at night when they want it. They get a game of bingo and there are prizes - the staff tell them what they've got and they get to choose - my aunt got a magnifying glass. They give them a cup of tea - they're very good. My view is that my aunt has never been so contented in the last twenty years. My four cousins all agree and wish to commend you all for your hard work on her behalf. Thank you.

There is a nice ambience at Quayside. The staff are very attentive to my sister. Friendly and cheerful. The rooms are bright and cheery, having her own personal belongings around her. Her medical needs are well cared for. My sister says the food is very good with plenty of variety. Quayside has a wide range of activities to suit the residents, with outings also. The management is extremely helpful to me, with guidance regarding finances etc. My sister is very content, living at Quayside and this gives me peace of mind.

Lovely staff and my grandmother has settled in great. A clean room and my gran is being very well looked after. The staff make her laugh and take an interest in her and what she likes. Very happy with all aspects of care and would recommend. The only negative, is the rooms could do with a refresh, as a little dated, but are very clean.

My father has been a resident since 2018. He was initially happy enough but the home has deteriorated over this period. When he first moved in there was a core staff of long-serving staff. As a result, the residents were able to develop a "family" atmosphere. However, staff turnover is now very high and all these staff members have now left. His unit is now nearly all staffed by agency workers. I always had a number of concerns with Quayside since he moved in such as poor food, poor decoration, and very basic amenities but I could overlook these as he seemed happy due to the staff previously employed there.

I am now looking to move him out as soon as possible.

The rooms are extremely small, you could not possibly bring any of your own items to make you feel more at home. You have a bed, chest of drawers, a tiny wardrobe beside a sink, and one chair. That is your room for the next few years until you die. The food is like old school dinners, so all this stuff on their website you can work out a feeding plan with them is just plain lies. When asked if I could put food in the fridge for my sister, the response was, "oh well you know the fridge is really only for milk". When asked if we could buy her a fridge for her room. "Well yes, but we would have to give you the type and the make". That being said I don't know where we would be able to place this fridge, the room is so small. There is a great deal of noise. There are not enough personnel for the residents. That being said I would presume that most care homes are the same. I don't find the level of care very good at all. What a sad world we live in.

My mum and dad were both residents at the nursing home for about a year. They were in different units due to the care they required. Both my parents received the highest level of care and the staff could not have done anymore to make their time at the home so safe and enjoyable for them. I and all my family can not thank everyone for the care and compassion they showered my parents with. I can not recommend this nursing home highly enough, 10/10.

Your nurses, care and domestic staff are all so loving and caring to our wonderful old folk. The love I've seen them give to each and every one of them is really outstanding. I have been up to this home nearly every day since 2nd February all day so I have seen and each everyone is outstanding. I have no fear over missing a day here and there because I know with my heart he is being cared for with love and respect so thank you so much.
