Both uncle and aunt in Quayside and the staff and social service have been excellent in looking after their needs and further care to future needs.

My mother was taken into the Waverley unit of this care home from the hospital when it was confirmed she did not have the capacity to live alone due to dementia.
This was obviously a very upsetting time for myself and my family.
The staff and management in this unit supported myself and my mother and were always approachable and answered any questions and concerns I had and I would like to thank them for this as it made the whole process a lot easier for us.

My mother was well looked after here.

Thank you to the manager and her staff, you do an amazing job.

A lot of the food I won't eat. Comfortable space, bed and seats. Lots of room.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Care Advisor at Quayside Care Home

At Quayside we are aware that everyone is an individual and we try to cater to everyone’s preferences and needs. We have a varied menu and offer alternatives if required. Overnight we have the ‘Nite Bite’ menu which offers soup, toast, tinned foods and deserts. We also encourage the Chef Manager to meet with Residents who may need more support or variety with their meals

We are very pleased with the way our mother has settled here. The staff have been very caring towards our mother. We leave every day knowing that she is very safe and well looked after, her appetite has increased which the staff have worked hard at.

Would definitely recommend this facility.

My wife was at Quayside Care Home for 16 nights of respite care whilst I went on holiday. My wife was visited by members of the family during her stay and they have told me that my wife had received very good care during her stay. The staff had consistently attended to my wife and her wellbeing was very good. Her bedroom was very good and comfortable, the home went out of their way to try and ensure that they provided the same level of comfort as that at home. All in all, I was very pleased with the care she received and would not hesitate to use this facility again.

My mum came here a couple of months ago. She seems to have settled well enough. The staff here are friendly and helpful and seem fond of my mum. The care home itself is somewhat shabby and could do with a bit of updating as furniture is quite worn and rooms could do with a paint. The grounds outside let the place down with grass overgrown and needs weeding. At the end of the day, it's the care that matters.

Generally, the overall experience is good. My mother does not fully participate in the activities so we cannot really comment on these. Food could be more varied but satisfactory. Otherwise, I have no current issues.

Always very welcoming and pleasant. Staff always know where my dad is and are able to update us on his condition. He seems to enjoy his food. Everywhere is clean and presentable. He is regularly assessed by doctors for his medication and wellbeing and we are informed promptly.
