Highgate Care Home, situated in the peaceful residential area of Uddington, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised nursing and nursing dementia care.

Highgate recently underwent an extensive refurbishment programme which transformed communal areas including dining rooms, lounges/day rooms, reception area, bathrooms and corridors. Highgate has a host of places in which to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative and the pretty landscaped sensory garden and patio is the perfect spot to spend time with friends and family.

From care assistants and nurses, to wellbeing coordinators and chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into the home. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the home manager leads the team to ensure residents are supported to lead their best lives at Highgate.

The catering team at Highgate understands the nutritional needs of older people and creates delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents and visitors. They offer a wide range of popular dining areas that provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends.

The dedicated and professional care team at Highgate likes to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting those living in the home to enjoy the things they love most. My gran has just moved here. The home is lovely, welcoming and the staff are incredibly caring. My young daughter was delighted to see the miniature ponies visiting and going up to see great gran in the lift. It is a pleasure to visit my gran at Highgate Care Home.

Firstly I would like to state that I ticked 'satisfactory' a few times only because I don't know how much it costs and don't know about the activities.


The establishment was fantastic for the love, care and support that Highgate offered to my uncle and his family. Many, many thanks to you all.

My friend has just moved into Highgate and has settled very quickly. This is a lovely home, I have seen a wide range of activities - Highland dancers, singers, therapets, outings etc. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home, everyone seems to care. The manager's door is always open too.

When we visited Mum at Christmas the staff really showed they care about how residents enjoyed Christmas. They also made sure we enjoyed our visit too. Highgate is a lovely care home. It is a home away from home for our Mum.

Having visited a few relatives in care homes over the years I can honestly say this is the best by far. The management and staff are so helpful. There are plenty of activities going on and a lovely atmosphere in general nothing seems too much trouble for the care staff.

After reviewing six other care homes, my sister and I were in total agreement that Highgate was the place for our Mum’s care needs going forward. Fourteen months forward and the one word that shouts out is exceptional. The extreme high levels of professionalism shown from management, nurses, care workers,
kitchen, cleaning and house staff is incredible.


The rooms are spotless, the in-house food and drink variety and standard is exceptional. The facility is very safe, secure and well laid out with multiple modern decored rooms and visible ongoing maintenance programme, keeping them at a high standard.


In support of your loved one, this is the perfect place to put your heart and mind at rest. The dedication, teamwork, morale, kindness and caring shown by all will have an everlasting effect on myself.

This was the first time my Dad was in respite care so understandably anxious. But I really need not have worried as the care given to my Dad was excellent. The staff genuinely cared for him and all his needs were met 100%. There were planned activities during his stay which he thoroughly enjoyed, especially
the tea dance. Rooms were clean and tidy and pretty basic but adequate for all his needs. Thank you all very much.

My husband has Alzheimer's and initially stayed in Highgate for respite but has recently moved in on a permanent basis. He has settled well and this has been helped by the staff that surround him every day, who are kind, caring and treat him with respect and dignity.
Myself, family or friends are
always made to feel welcome no matter what time of day we visit and nothing is a problem. The manager and staff make this the caring and welcoming place it is.

Transition from one owner to another seems to be going smoothly and hopefully continues. Cleanliness is always first class in Highgate, ensuring a safe environment for all. Assorted range of activities always going on, residents always seem happy with appropriate music playing for them. Gardens and
grounds well tended, enjoyable to walk round or sit in. Staff always pleasant and helpful, willing to assist. Approachable, hospitable and communicative.
