my mum has been in Hallhouse Care Home for 6 months, staff are kind, helpful and always on hand.
initially, my mum spent most of her day in the lounge where there is always lots going on but recently has been spending more time in her room.
my mum complains about the food but I can't comment on this.
overall
we are confident that our mum receives a good standard of care and is well looked after.

Staff are very attentive and do the best they can. I have found them pleasant and courteous. The rooms are large, pleasant, and with en-suite bathrooms, and can be personalised to suit the needs of the resident. The technical support man is also not averse to trying to solve difficult problems. The
only shortfall is that the TV aerial system fitted is not powerful enough to deal with the relatively weak TV signal that reaches the site at normal roof height. There are trees which get in the way and those need to be overtopped by the aerial system to ensure that the signal which doesn't come from too far away is allowed to reach the TVs. Hi The tech guy is trying to resolve the signal problem in my mum's room. We will have to wait and see what success he has.

My father is well taken care of. The staff are generally helpful and pleasant to him. Sometimes he is not keen on the food, but it is generally okay.

We called the house to inquire about respite care for my 85yr old mother in law. The call was answered in a polite and professional manner and I was directed to the administrator, she was very helpful and we arranged a visit to look over the house and its facilities. The pre-placement visit went very
well and all of our many queries were answered to our satisfaction (not easy as both my wife and I work for social services!). The staff were all very nice, polite, professional but also grounded and down to earth. We noticed the attention to detail they each included in their interactions with the residents there - who all seemed to really enjoy staying there.


In conclusion - my mother in law stated that should she require anywhere 'permanent' we should seek a place here in the first instance! She loved her time here and we would thoroughly recommend giving the team here a call if you or a family member require respite or nursing care.

My mum has been in Hallhouse for almost 2 years. It is a wonderful place with caring staff, many smiles, wonderful food, activities etc. Today was my mum's 90th birthday and the activities coordinator arranged a fantastic party. Even though my mum is declining, she had a huge smile and as so grateful.
Thanks to Hallhouse for the special occasions but most importantly for the everyday things. Mum is so wanted and cared for.

Hillhouse Care Home was an excellent choice for two weeks respite for Mum after coming out of the hospital. The staff and nursing staff were always on hand to attend to Mum and answer any questions we had. The food was excellent and cleanliness first class. The surroundings are lovely. We as a family
could find no fault in any areas and will use Hallhouse Care home in the future if necessary. Every one of the staff is friendly, smiling and helpful.

My dad, who passed away in May, was in Crosshouse Hospital for a number of weeks after falling at home. He was then taken into Hallhouse for a short time and was looked after by wonderful nurses and carers at Hallhouse. It's hard to choose a Nursing Home for your loved ones but I had the opportunity
to see how residents are looked after at Hallhouse and how they also looked after me too! Thank you to all the wonderful staff including the Manager who made me feel that my dad was safe and looked after.

My grandparents attended respite for a week. They had a wonderful time, the staff were really friendly and helpful.
The staff had a lot of time for my gran and granddad and made them feel very welcome, always had time to sit and have a wee chat with them.
The manager was wonderful with them, they
were really worried about going in for respite but the manager put their mind at ease and made regular contact with family and themselves to see how they were settling in and if she could do anything to help the family.
They loved the activity's that the home provided. They enjoyed sitting in the conservatory reading their daily papers. They felt at home and when family visited, they looked really happy. Grandad was really happy with the food. He loved every meal he received. My gran isn't a big eater but she loved the fact you got wee snacks in between meals as she didn't eat much at meal times. Couldn't thank the staff enough, wonderful place to be.

The atmosphere on Christmas Day at Hallhouse was one filled with laughter and joy- exactly as you would wish it to be! Staff and residents and their families mingled and the lounge was noisy, chaotic and fun. The arrival of Santa (heralded by the ringing of a very loud bell) added to the mix and each
of the residents received a very large red "sack" full of parcels to open. Drinks and snacks were available for everyone to enjoy and I would like to thank all the staff involved for making the day such a lovely one. It is very much appreciated.

The manager of the home visited my home address before I went in to gather relevant information. On the morning I arrived a little early and the room was still being cleaned but I was looked after well and introduced to some members of staff and shown around the whole place and then taken to my room.
It was spotless. They tested the alarm whilst I was there and I was very impressed that I was safe and the procedure was explained to me before it took place.

I was unsure what to expect from a care home when I began looking around for my father who suffered a bad stroke and also has Parkinsons. I chose Hallhouse Care Home mainly due to the location to be honest and I have been delighted with the care given to my dad. The staff work tirelessly to care for
the residents and are always upbeat and full of humour and treated with dignity.


There are lots of activities arranged for residents in the home and as day trips. Rooms are a good size as are communal areas. A refurbishment has commenced which looks promising as the old decor was dark and dated and it is already looking brighter and more modern.


My only areas for improvement would be the menu - slightly healthier would be nice - and for the residents to be taken outside into the garden area when it is mild and dry. My father only goes outside when I have taken him and not only does he enjoy it but he gets some much-needed Vitamin D.


Overall I am very happy with Hallhouse and so is my father.

If you have to be in a care home, then Hallhouse Care Home is a very pleasant place to be. Management is very efficient. The atmosphere is good and mostly peaceful! The surroundings are lovely and the gardens well kept. My mother who has been here for 3 years and has dementia, believes she is in a hotel,
which is great!

I find my mothers care to be excellent. Nursing, caring, laundry and domestic staff couldn't be more helpful and attentive. Any concerns at mum's health deterioration are dealt with promptly and considerately to her one to one needs. We as a family are very happy with mum's care. My mum mentally is
very alert and is capable of voicing her own opinions. As long as she is happy here then so are we. Can't praise the staff enough for the personal loving care they give. My mum has been in this home since October 2014.
